Fabulous

Amazing place, only stayed overnight , would highly recommend and definitely return for longer. Dinner, watching the sunset was beautiful as was the food and wine . Excellent host, a really enjoyable stay, thank you.

This property is one of the most amazing places we have ever stayed. Every single detail is well thought out , it’s simply amazing. We wished we had been able to stay longer at this vacation spot. We can’t wait to return .

Most memorable part of our Italian journey

The moment we got out of the car and saw the incredible grounds, our jaws dropped. It truly is a stunning location. But even more incredible was our host, Varno. We got to know him over the few days we were there -- starting with a spontaneous invite to a bit community dinner in town and ending with the most memorable meal in Varno's restaurant, as we watched the sun set beyond the Tuscan hills. Other things worth noting -- a day trip to Sienna should not be missed, including a visit to the duomo there. And be sure to schedule in some pool time -- what a backdrop!

Amazing Property

We had an absolutely amazing time staying on Varno’s farm. We arrived after dark and were concerned it may be hard to find the property but GPS worked perfectly and after driving down the long road we were greeted warmly by Varno, his wife and their friendly dogs. We had dinner at Varno’s restaurant which is a major part of the overall experience. This is a must do! There was no menu but the food and wine flowed all night and everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. The room and overall property are great and you won’t find a better host!

Beautiful setting-ideal Tuscany views and central location

If you are looking for a Tuscany Farm stay, Erta is wonderful! Keep in mind, a farm stay is NOT a hotel or apartment- 5 star farm stays are not the same as a “5 star hotel”. This is a farm- a wonderful, active farm and Varno is a friendly host. He grows amazing fruits and vegetables that he shows you how to pick and use generously. We stayed in the apartment called Rosa and it has a kitchen and a lovey outdoor patio with a table for dining or relaxing with a glass of wine and enjoying the stunning view. Varno has a a wonderful swimming pool with an amazing view! Erta is centerally located to many hill towns and is a great location for driving to towns such as Casole D’Elsa, Volterra, Pineza, Montepulciano, San Gamiginano, and Siena. Varno has friendly dogs and a cat, chickens for fresh eggs, he makes his own infused olive oils which are delicious and wine. This is a real working farm, with a great view, and a central location. We appreciate his willingness to share his home and hard work -with so many to enjoy a stay in Tuscany!

Beautiful countryside!!!

Can’t say enough about this beautiful place. Country setting, pool, rolling hills, beautiful accommodations…can’t say enough. Nearby village with delicious restaurant. Just wish we could have eaten dinner on site. Definitely will return! Thank you!!

Remarkably beautiful agriculture atmosphere Rustic, sustainable, well organized and beautiful.

Der Blick in die Umgebung ist überwältigend. Die gesamte Anlage äußerst gepflegt. Die Gastfreundschaft des Gastgebers ist kaum zu toppen. Seine Kochkünste übertrafen alle unsere Erwartungen. Die Note 1 ist wohlverdient.

A wonderful stay in the Tuscan countryside

Agriturismo Erta was a wonderful find. Apartment Rosa is beautiful and Varno was a superb host. The two meals that he prepared for us were outstanding. His wines are excellent too. Thor, Lula and Hugo the dogs were great to have around. The pool area was delightful and so refreshing in the sun. San Gimignano and Siena were 45 minutes away and smaller villages were nearby. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Un superbe écrin, situé au coeur de la Toscane, cerne de vignes, de cyprès et d'oliviers...

Mister Varno tient le gite idéal : le confort, le calme et le charme toscan. Deux chambres spacieuses, tout le confort à bord, une piscine, une bonne table (repas sur commande), vins fins et succulentes confitures... et une envie, y retourner car Mister Varno est un hôte exceptionnel...
