Vigan is an island, which used to be detached from the mainland by three rivers – the Abra River, the Mestizo River and the Govantes River. As soon as you enter Vigan City, you will cross the Govantes River when entering from the National Highway. Even before Spanish colonial time, Vigan was an important coastal trading post by Chinese & neighbouring Asian countries sailing from the South China Sea through these rivers. Situated along this historic river is the "GOVANTES BISTRO" offering a fusion & modern twist of local food and beverages specializing in Asian Fusion and various International Cuisine reliving the olden days of Ilocanos in a modern way.
"LOGO INSPIRATION"
In the 16th century, before the Spanish colonization in the Philippines, Ilocano was first written with a version of the Baybayin script known as “Kur-itan”. The GOVANTES BISTRO logo is designed as the Kur-itan script for “GOVANTES” with a simple and minimalist design using neutral colours (black & white) with orange to continue the branding of “GOVANTES GUESTHOUSE” with The Orange House – Vigan Villa as the main property. GOVANTES GUESTHOUSE is the team handling a short-term rental accommodation also within the vicinity and also some properties in Metro Manila.
