Skye Lodge es un lujoso apartamento de 725 pies cuadrados ubicado en el último piso de una casa de vacaciones privada ubicada en un acantilado de 150 pies cuadrados. por encima del suelo del cañón. en el corazón de Spearfish Canyon, donde se unen Spearfish Canyon y Roughlock Canyon. The stay was fantastic. The property is so well appointed, clean and beautiful. I always bring things along just in case we need them and everything was so great, we didn't need anything I brought (think TP, spices, salt and pepper, etc). The property owner communicated so well and accommodated my last minute request for a change. You need to be prepared for a very steep driveway. We barely made it a couple times. BUT- so worth it for the amazing views. I would absolutely recommend to anyone that just needs a small place to stay. My husband and I loved it so much!

Gorgeous! The place was clean and wonderfully decorated. The views were amazing!Host was wonderful to talk to and offered many tips of things in the area. Maps were included of things to see/visit.Can't wait to stay again!

Retreat in the clouds.

An amazing cabin, high on the ledge of the mountain. Note: the drive up to this cabin is very steep, 4-wheel drive is helpful. The view is spectacular, but we enjoyed the star filled night sky the most. Cabin is clean and well stocked. We cooked in every night and enjoyed the kitchen and outdoor grill.

Comfortable Stay w/Beautiful Views

Greg has a nicely appointed and well-stocked apartment in the heart of Spearfish Canyon, which made for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. Nice kitchen, bathroom, and bed. Comfortable for me, my wife and infant daughter and the views were beautiful.

Excellent property!

Excellent property! Gorgeous views of Spearfish Canyon. Would definitely stay here again! The property host gave us excellent ideas of places to see and things to do.

The pictures don't do it justice. Beautiful setting with great views and the cabin was beautifully done everything very high end and well done. Greg is an excellent gracious host who was very helpful answering all of our questions about the area.

Skyelodge was the perfect way to end our South Dakota vacation!

This house has the most spectacular views of Spearfish Canyon! The property was everything we had hoped for, tranquility after having visited Deadwood and Sturgis. We spent hours on the deck and front yard marveling at the grounds and surrounding canyon. The house was clean and meticulously appointed. Our host greeted us and gave excellent advice about things to see and do during our stay. We were pleased to find Latchstring Restaurant only a few miles away, the food and views were fantastic! My husband brought his fly fishing gear and found great places a short distance from the property to fish. Overall, we are so pleased that we chose Skye Lodge, and would highly recommend it to friends and family traveling through Spearfish Canyon, SD.

This place has the best views right out your windows. Very convenient to the things we wanted to do and in a beautiful location. Greg was super helpful and easy to reach. Would love to stay again.

Stunning property

This property was just as promised. The location was unbeatable, and the views were stupendous. It was right in the heart of Spearfish Canyon, so everything we wanted was nearby. The lodge itself was beautifully furnished and had every possible comfort. Greg was incredibly helpful and easy to reach. We only wish our schedules would have allowed us to stay longer.

Spearfish Canyon fun.

Directions to the cabin was accurate. The check in process was easy. Greg is one kind host. He was walked us through the cabin and gave us ideas for places to go. We enjoyed talking to him. The cabin was very clean and the decor was fun to look at. The view with the big windows was amazing. It was just what we were looking for. It was fun to watch some of the wild life outside the cabin. It was nice to sit out on the deck and have a toddy at the end of the day. We highly recommend this place if you wish to stay in Spearfish Canyon. As we said earlier the host was exceptional and the cabin had everything we needed.

Absolutely amazing property!

Greg did not exaggerate his listing. His property is nestled between the soaring canyon walls of Spearfish Canyon. Breathtaking views are not only beheld at the lodge, but all along route 14 from Spearfish to Lead. We encountered mountain goats daily (sometimes twice!) when we were traversing the route. Saw many deer around the property and of course, plenty of other wildlife. We spent our early morning drinking coffee and watching the deer as well as several different birds of prey soar along the canyon walls. Evenings were spent relaxing on the deck if we weren’t in Deadwood or Sturgis. There is plenty to do around the lodge. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, plenty of trails await you. We strongly suggest a trek to Devil’s bathtub and both Roughlock and Spearfish falls. If hiking isn’t your thing, various business offer Polaris and other rentals. Deadwood is a short 30 minute drive from the lodge. Mt Rushmore was about 1 hr and 30 minutes, as was Custer state park and Crazy Horse. Needles Highway is a must if you wish to see as much indigenous wildlife as possible. Plenty of bison, goats, deer, coyotes, etc. Greg is a personable and knowledgeable host. Very friendly and full of advice. He’s lived in the area for a long time and certainly can guide you to whatever adventure you seek. Thanks again, Greg! We plan on visiting often!

Incredible Views + Comfortable and Clean Cabin = Great Time

Greg was a great host! The views from the cabin really were incredible, and the whole Spearfish Canyon area is so beautiful. We enjoyed seeing deer in the mornings right outside the lodge, as well as sitting on the deck in the evenings and watching the hummingbirds. There's plenty to do with hiking, fishing, renting ATVs, horseback riding, and so much more. There are also great places nearby to eat. Greg was very helpful with suggestions and advice on things to do in the area. Thanks for a great time!

Beautiful location right in the heart of Spearfish Canyon! We enjoyed our days of just relaxing watching the deer and hummingbirds. Loved the ice cave air conditioning on hot afternoons.

Great place for our family

We loved it! We traveled as a family of 4 with our kiddos (3 and 7) and everything was exactly as described. The home is beautiful, the views are breathtaking, the host is very helpful and accommodating. We had some personal difficulties come up regarding our travel plans and the host was so helpful and everything went so well. Thank you for a lovely stay! We will be back!
