Have stayed in this building before in better apartments.

Unfortunately, this top floor apartments has had major water leaks, floor boards in the main room have water damage and are coming up off the floor. Owners have tries to mask it with floor mats, but it’s very obvious and needs repair. Wouldn’t stay there again due to this problem

Winter holiday getaway

Unit was well presented and in a great location - perfect for a few nights away to enjoy the outdoors and time with family. Wil go again.

Good location but not clean

The cleanliness of the unit was below average. There was dust all over tv unit , the coffee table had not been wiped at all it has sugar or salt all Over it. The balcony is dirty has not been swept or cleaned. The door mat leading to balcony is full of sand. The aircon was hardly working and unable to adjust from set 23 degrees. We looked at the filter and it is filthy didn’t look like it has ever been cleaned. My husband attempted to clean it which helped with the air flow but this needs to address. We paid the additional fee to have our bed made up for us on arrival, the sheets were not tucked in on the sides (and have stains on them) and the quilt was put in the wrong way so lt was lumpy (I should be refunded for this considering it was an extra fee!) I can see from previous reviews the cleanliness of this property has been a big issue but very disappointing it is not getting addressed. This property has so much potential if managed properly.

Shoal Bay Penthouse

The apartment is well located. When we arrived the balcony hadn't been cleaned and the fridge wasn't working. The bedroom's access to and view of the balcony was blocked by a huge television on a stand, in addition to the one in the living room. When we asked for it to be moved, we were told the owner has the right to place any furniture wherever he wants. We paid extra for this particular unit because of the balcony access. It really spoiled our experience of the apartment. When we reported the broken fridge we received no response. It only got fixed because the cleaner, who came back to clean the balcony, reported it to the electrician.

Disappointing

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This penthouse bears little resemblance to the description online. Apartment was generally dirty on arrival with sand and hair in the bathroom. Furniture has not been moved to clean. Shower mouldy. The bedding is not King and King Singles as stated. Rather it is Queen and Singles. The balcony door in the bedroom is obstructed by an enormous tv. There is a water leak in the main bedroom after rain and creates a puddle on the floor. The balcony furniture is old, wrought iron with no comfort factor at all. Mother Nature provides a spectacular view. This apartment’s only redeeming feature.

Short stay in Shoal Bay

Reviewer Comments: The location of the apartment was great being a block back from the lovely shoal bay beach strip and in the centre of town. The view was also fantastic from the clean modern apartment and the kitchen had everything we needed.A couple of things that did detract from the stay was that it is advertised as having a king bed in the main bedroom and king singles in the 2nd, neither of which was true. The door to the 2nd bedroom was broken almost coming off the hinges and a number of lights did not work so the maintenance of the apartment was disappointing. And whilst there is a door from the main bedroom to the balcony for access, a large TV is blocking that access so not quite as advertised.Our family of 4 had a great few days though with perfect weather and a stress free stay. For the price and description though more was expected of the apartment.

Great location but not great value for money

Perfect location but this apartment showed a lack of care. Aircon didn’t work in master bedroom and despite reporting it to the property manager we never received a return call. Skylight in the other bedroom had no shade and so it was difficult for anybody in that room to sleep past 6am. Rusted and minimal fittings in the bathroom and not a piece of artwork on the walls. The place really lacked soul. For $2400 for a week I would expect more.

Stunning Luxury Apartment

Fantastic new 2bdr apartment located conveniently close to the shops & beach with spectacular views over the water! The interior decor is modern and very clean with the apartment offering generous space and comfort for us during our stay, with lift access and parking also provided. After realising we would be stuck at home one night during the rain, we quickly turned to our entertainment options to find Wifi, Ps4 & Netflix etc at our disposal in order to keep us occupied. Highly recommend for groups or families traveling to the area as the location and facilities provided are second to none. Will definitely be returning in the summer!

Very new and very nice dcor, with a lovely view over Port Stephens. We were generally very comfortable. For an apartment for 4 people at least one armchair, preferably 2, would have been beneficial. The bed in the main bedroom is not king sized, as advertised. There was nowhere to put soap etc in the shower. After spending a long time to work out how stovetop worked and finally getting it going, it turned itself off after a couple of minutes, twice, so we gave up - and it was the only instruction book we could not find. WC seats would not stay up (poor design, but maybe can be adjusted). Facilities section of website advertises 2 bathrooms, but incorrect. As previous reviewer notes several problems can be easily fixed. Lack of adequate window covering also a problem - particularly for the cost.

Good potential

On the positive side this is a nice place with a great view. It was neatly furnished and looked quite new. It was also very comfortable and the air conditioning was good. On the down side, the dishwasher looked unfinished (it didnt have the integrated panel) and tipped when we opened the door - so we didnt use it. The bathroom floor got soaked while having a shower because the bathroom door didnt close properly (we had to wedge it with something heavy). There was also only one roll of toilet paper supplied for four people for a 2-night stay - so we ran out on the second day which wasn't great. The wind tends to howl a bit through the unit making it quite noisy. The blinds were not block out blinds and there wasnt a cover over the skylight in the second bedroom so the room was very bright as soon as the sun came up, making it hard to sleep. These are all relatively minor and easily fixed design flaws of the place (except the toilet paper). Lastly, the online advert indicated that the King bed is able to be split in two (making 4 single beds for the unit), but this is not actually the case. Again, easily fixed online. Overall we enjoyed the stay but felt that it was very expensive for its present state.
