La granja de George y Sally

La casa de campo de George y Sally es una casa de campo original bellamente restaurada. La familia Draughn crió a sus 7 hijos a principios / mediados de 1900. La estructura original tiene ahora más de 100 años. Recientemente restaurada en 2015, esta casa de dos dormitorios y 1 baño está perfectamente ubicada en el campo a las afueras de Mount Airy (Mayberry) y Dobson, Carolina del Norte. La granja se encuentra en el medio de una granja de 120 acres con vistas de las montañas Blue Ridge en la distancia. Tres millas de senderos que lo llevan a las orillas del río Fisher que bordean la granja. Los huéspedes pueden disfrutar de la pesca en el río o en el estanque de la granja ubicado al otro lado de la carretera desde la casa. This house is wonderful,old fashion, and cozy. So nice to get away from all the busy life and just relax. Nice big yard for kids to play and spacious deck for grilling and eating outdoors. Love this place and would refer anyone to stay. Thanks again for your great hospitality.

Absolutely Amazing

We had such a great time staying in this beautiful farmhouse. It retains all the feel and charm of a 100+ year old home while having all the modern comforts one would want when traveling. The pictures don’t do justice to how gorgeous the property is. The home had everything we needed except for groceries. The host was great to work with and we would definitely stay again.

Just what we needed!

We spent a week at the farmhouse for a chance to rest and get some fishing in during a break in a busy summer. It was very comfortable and well furnished. The hosts gave us guidance on fishing in the area. The view of the Blue Ridge from the yard was lovely. We hope to return!

Beautiful and clean country home

We really enjoyed this cozy country home. Great view in the backyard across the farm. The property is very clean and well taken care of. The hospitality was excellent. They thought of every need you may have during your stay. This was our first time renting a home for our vacation, but I would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting this area! We will be back!

Beautiful Farmhouse

This place is simple and amazing. We got married at a venue here in Mt Airy and wanted a nice place to stay before, during and after the wedding. We arrived on Thursday to find a beautiful charming farmhouse. Lots of character to the home. I absolutely loved it! Staying here was a wonderful bonus to our special day. We look forward to staying here again. The owners are very friendly. Highly recommend.

Peace and Quiet

This was our second visit to George and Sally's Farm House and like our first visit we found everything just as we hoped. The furnishings were great and the owners were even better...thanks to Wayne and Katie for our personal tour of the property. Also Doug was very helpful while making our reservations. The full time internet access was a bonus. The best part was the peace and quiet with the beautiful scenery. Wish we could live there full time.

Lovely getaway

Love the farmhouse. Nice and quite and very relaxing. Went for our 22nd wedding anniversary and had plans to go to town that Sunday but it was cold and drizzling so we had a nice long stay in vacation and vegged out, watched TV and took plenty of naps. :) Wish there were more available upper channels on the cable, but other than that very nice place to stay and enjoyed very peaceful minute..

Gas logs didn’t work and the propane grill was in terrible shape so we couldn’t cook our expensive steaks had to wait until our return home. T.V. was not very good either. Everything else was great. Very private and peaceful

It was absolutely perfect!

We had the most relaxing vacation ever. The house was everything we expected and more. Well furnished and very clean. We enjoyed our mornings in the porch before our adventures into Mayberry. It was wonderful meeting Ms Katie and learning a little about the home. Everyone was so nice. Just a short drive into Mt. Airy which is where we spent our days. Next time I would love to take my grandchildren and just enjoy the farm with them. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a great clean place to stay and relax.

Quick Fishing trip

My son and I had scheduled a fishing trip to Spruce Pine which was canceled due to Hurricane Helene. I booked this semi last minute after reading all the great reviews and proximity to local rivers. The houses Pefect. Clean with every appointment necessary for a full stay. We ate out both nights but the kitchen had everything one wood need to cook. Coffee maker, new fridge, excellent induction stove, toaster oven. The deck has a gas grill and outdoor table. There is a washer and dryer. Streaming TV and Spectrum cable. Bathroom had more than enough towels and all other accoutrements one might use. There was enough parking for at least four vehicles. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

George and Sally's Farmhouse

My sister drove from Michigan and I drove from Texas and we met at the farmhouse. As soon as I pulled in the driveway, I felt like I was a home. As I walked in the door the smells of the country were reminiscent of my childhood visits to my grandparents in North Carolina. The house was spotless and the furnishings were fantastic! The original rooms bring you back to a time past. Katie greeted me in a short time to make sure I arrived safely and everything was as expected. I told her everything was perfect and that Doug has called on my way to check on me. He even told me I could even arrive early if I could so I could get some North Carolina air. They are the nicest people!!!! The sunsets were amazing and the view of Pilot Mountain as you drive down the road is fabulous. I can't say enough about our amazing stay! I certainly recommend this house if you are looking for a piece of utopia. I will be staying here the next time I come to North Carolina. Thank you, Doug and Katie, for being wonderful hosts.

Short getaway

This farmhouse is a charming place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. It holds over a century of history seated in the rolling countryside. The house is quaint but has all you need and more. The hosts are warm and friendly and very accommodating. Lovely getaway.

Beautiful setting

Quiet, great for setting on the porch in the morning and evening! Central location and short drive to wineries and towns. Don’t forget to visit Pilot Mountain State Park—beautiful!

Wonderful stay!

We have stayed in a number of properties over the last two years or so and this was by far our favorite! The house was clean, comfortable, and honestly felt like a warm hug. Both my husband and I felt like we were coming home to “grandma’s house”. The owners thought of many nice extras-from coffee and half and half in the fridge to shampoo and body wash in the shower. The property has Mountain views and lush green hills from the side porch. A very quiet and relaxing stay.

Perfect farmhouse

Property was exactly as stated. One of the best properties we have stayed at. Very well stocked, bed was comfortable. Only thing you need to take is yourself. Would stay here again if back in the area. Katie came by one evening to make sure we had everything.

Peaceful haven

This quiet country farmhouse was the best thing about our trip. It is 5 stars and more. The beauty of the countryside made relaxing on the porch even more enjoyable. The home was spotless and comfortable. Any questions we had were answered in no time at all. I will definitely recommend this property.
