What a beautiful and comfortable cottage! It was very well appointed. The view of the harbour was stunning and the location was wonderful. Rochelle was very friendly and her responses to our questions were always most timely.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This was the best place I have ever stayed. The view of the harbour was fantastic. It’s the most peaceful time I’ve had. Love the home we were in. Beautiful decorations. Convenient to down town. House was fully loaded. We will stay there next year. Great people to work with.

We had a fantastic stay at Rochelle’s Bakeapple Cottage. It has everything you need for a quiet, comfortable stay. An exciting view of an active, ever changing Harbour. And Rochelle responded very quickly to the one question we had. We can’t wait to return!

This place was more than we expected. It was a nice walk to downtown, we felt safe. The patio view was amazing in the day as well as at night. The ships had a hummm, but if you like to sleep with a fan on its perfect.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Battery in St. John's. The house was lovely and gave us a beautiful view over the city's beautiful working harbour. A 20 minute walk pretty much got you anywhere in the city.

Great Cottage

Great location. Easy to walk downtown. Very nice cottage which was well stocked with everything we needed. Enjoyed our time sitting on the balcony overlooking the water. Recommend this cottage to everyone.

Perfect spot

This little cottage is perfect for two or four people.The view of St. John's Harbour is breathtaking. If the weather is nice you can sit on the balcony and watch the ships. The path to signal hill is close by and downtown is waliking distance.The cottage is clean, comfortable and has all the amenities of home. Highly recommend.

Boats, Birds, and The Battery

Bakeapple Cottage was perfect for our weeklong stay in St. John's. Close to downtown for eating and shopping, and near the highways to explore the island. The property was clean and well-appointed.

September in St John’s

We stayed at the Baked Apple Cottage for two weeks. The views were amazing and it was fun to watch the ships coming and going from the deck. We did not like the beds as they were both uncomfortable. The first week, there was construction right under our deck. We had to listen to hammering from the night we arrived and for the next 7 days. We just finished a 6 month renovation on our home and did not expect to be right over another construction zone. We loved St John’s.

Amazing location and beautiful cottage. Walking distance from downtown and Signal Hill. All amenities provided, including washer and dryer. Would go back any time.

Perfect location

The cottage was well stocked with everything we could need, the only issue I had was that there were some very warm days (the locals were telling us it was very rare weather) and it seemed to get inescapably hot and humid in the bedroom and the fan provided just didn't seem to make even a dent. By far the best thing was the location, we could walk to everything we wanted to do and see! Lots of restaurants and grocery options nearby.

Great View

Overall the property was very peaceful and serene. My son and his wife did not enjoy the mattress in the second bedroom. They said it was much too hard. For those that still iron you might want to purchase a new ironing board cover.One last thing. Bar soap in the bathroom would have been nice to have. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

FASCINATING LOCATION

Most people will love but a few will dislike. We got here after having rural waterfront views in 2 other spots. What a contrast! We had waterfront, but it was a scene of a busy harbour of a busy city. We watched and tracked the ships from the balcony and online as they entered and left and the activity was interesting to watch. But it's noisy. At night it was just a dull roar but during the day there were all the expected clanks and bangs... not overwhelming for us but definitely omnipresent. FOR THE 3 DAYS WE WERE THERE IT WAS DIFFERENT & GREAT. If you are searching for tranquility though? Nope. Parking and driving is again an individual rating. We had no problems once we figured out exactly where to park. But you have to be able to manoeuvre your vehicle in tighter spaces and not mind starting on a bit of a hill. Weekends the other tourists fill the narrow streets and are not above trying to take your spot at the cottage. Communication is good but very corporate in tone. We never figured out if there was a real person we were talking to or if it was a company. This was unlike the personal contact we had with our other stays. Again, whether you like this or not depends on your personality. The place was clean/neat but the kitchen had a number of undated items that people had left and the cleanliness of utensils/plates - and salt/pepper - required a wash. No dishwasher so this is expected. So close to trails and downtown!!! A good stay was had.
