Sandgate es una casa familiar totalmente equipada ubicada en las dunas de arena de la playa de Waikanae con una vista imponente desde la gran sala de estar de la isla Kapiti, Marlborough Sounds y la costa desde Paraparaumu hasta Otaki. Sandgate ha estado en la misma familia durante más de 50 años, y como tal es particularmente adecuado para familias. La vista sin obstáculos de la playa y el océano ha sido muy popular entre nuestros huéspedes anteriores. Sandgate es un agradable paseo de media milla a lo largo de la playa hasta los cafés y supermercados. La playa inmediatamente enfrente de Sandgate es segura para nadar durante todo el año.

Our best location and sea view of all the holiday rentals at Waikanae Beach we have had since 1972.Older style, 3 bedroom/bathroom setup suited our 3 family group perfectly and being a very cold winter the fireplace was a bonus.

Fabulous views & beach front location!

Thank you for a wonderful 10 day stay! The views and location were incredible and we loved our beach walks to local cafes. We've stayed in Waikanae Beach a couple of times and this was the best location yet. The house is an original beach house but had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. With 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms it was brilliant for our family with teenagers. Rhonda (the property manager) was very helpful. Would definitely stay again!

Perfect getaway

Family from Melbourne and Dunedin congregated for a catch up prior to christmas. Suited us perfectly re bedrooms and bathrooms and spaciousness of the house. Have stayed here previously and given how much we enjoyed it then, the location right on the beach enticed us back.

Great family get together

We had my parents visiting from Australia so decided for a few days away. Had such a relaxing time. Beautiful view, games, walks on the beach, very well stocked kitchen. Absolutely fabulous

Perfect location and welcoming home

Another great stay at Sandgate. The house is perfectly located right on the beach front. When we arrived, the house was warm and sparkling clean. It has a great welcoming feel and is immediately relaxing. Communication with both the owner and manager is easy and responsive. We highly recommend a stay at Sandgate.

Welcoming by the sea

Sandgate was warm and welcoming the minute we stepped inside. The heaters were on, there was milk in a jug in the fridge for a cuppa, the beds were made with crisp clean sheets and the 180-degree view of the sea and the dunes and Kāpiti Island beckoned. This is a place full of wairua that takes your heart and makes you feel at home and relaxed. You can sit there all day looking at the view or go for a swim (the water is a minute away, through the garden and over the sand dune) or a hīkoi along the beach. There is enough room to entertain friends or family around the refectory table or sitting on the comfy couches looking, yes, at the view, and watching the sunset. Communications with the property manager were quick and easy. We felt looked after. We loved our stay.

Sandgate

Thank you to our host Peter and his property manager Rhonda. Waikanae Beach sure turned on the sunny weather for us the whole time we were there. Sandgate is a great beach property with the most fantastic view of Kapiti Island. As I do when I go on holiday I take half the house with me, next time here I will leave most of it at home as there is plenty of everything you need. The furniture is old but comfortable and is perfect for a beach property. Beds are very comfortable. House was very clean when we arrived, has a very homely feel. Also so grateful that we could holiday with our dog, thank you so much. Will be staying here again in the future........Rose-Ann & Rex

Best holiday at the beach ever

We had a wonderful time at this beach house and hope to return someday. Teens loved easy access to beach and spent all day outside. Fabulous sunsets on the deck. The fenced side yard with table/chairs and BBQ was great and provided shelter when the wind from the beach got too strong. The furnishings were worn, but entirely in keeping with the bach atmosphere and very comfortable. Kitchen was well-equipped, but some maintenance needs to be done on the older appliances which didn't work so well. It should be noted that bedroom 3 is separated from the rest of the house and accessed through a door in the carport. Our 18 yr old liked the privacy, but the separation might concern families with younger children. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would come back. Friends from the Hutt who dropped by for a visit during the 10 days we spent here all took note of the name/address so they could look into future rentals for their families too. Thank you so much to our hosts for a pleasant and relaxing stay.

Fabulous location
