Encantadora casa de campo convertida con jardín privado, garaje y piscina.

Una casa de campo que fue comprada por nuestra familia a principios de la década de 1960, reconstruida y completamente renovada como casa de vacaciones para nuestro uso, conservando muchas de las características originales: la piedra de granito local que rodea la gran chimenea, un techo de roble tallado en el primer piso. sala, camas de "alcoba" en esa sala, y vigas de roble originales en la gran sala de estar / comedor. La casa se encuentra en una zona rural rural con vistas al río Cavado, y la playa de Ofir y Espozende con sus numerosas atracciones se encuentran a 5 minutos en coche. encantador y muy completo

La casa está muy bien equipada para el que se aloje en ella. La informacion contenida en la carpeta a disposicion del visitante es muy completa y útil. La atención que brinda la señora Concepion es discreta pero muy eficiente, cuidadando siempre que el inquilino se sienta cómodo. El jardin- huetta es muy pintoresco y exuberante, la casa por dentro tambien tiene un caracter muy personal además de confortable. En resumen, muy aconsejable.

Grote woning met leuk zwembad. Daarmee zijn de positieve punten benoemd want voor de rest viel het erg tegen. De woning is heel donker en zeker de benedenverdieping is vochtig en klammig. Het sanitair is gedateerd net als de keuken. De koelkast lekt water, een van de gaspitten werkt niet, kastjes beschadigd. Het buitenmeubilair is goedkoop en aangetast. Kortom geen goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding.

Spacious cool farmhouse - great for relaxing family stay

We had a fabulous relaxing stay in this comfortable spacious house - plenty of room for everyone to do their own thing or spend time together. Everything we needed was provided from the welcome pack of basic provisions and huge fruit bowl to plentiful towels for inside and the pool. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and tidy. The gardens were lovely and very lush compared to the heatwave we'd left behind in England and there were plenty of options for sitting in the sun or in the shade throughout the day. We ventured out to the Thursday market at Barcelos and to Esposende and Fao but could have easily spent our days lazing around the pool and garden. Although there were kayaks provided we decide to head round to ProRiver over the other side of the river and hire them so we could all kayak at the same time. The icing on the cake was great views of the blood moon lunar eclipse and Mars from the top balcony - perfect end to a very relaxing holiday.

A spacious farmhouse perfect for relaxing and entertaining

A lovely well equipped farmhouse with interesting garden and a lovely pool. We immediately felt at home and were made to feel very welcome by the generous gift of wine, fruit and essentials. There was plenty of shade in the heat of the day and three patio areas to choose from depending on where the sun was. There were a couple of small shops within walking distance and a large supermarket a short (5 minute) drive away that sold everything you could want. The farmhouse is in easy reach of the main roads for sightseeing further afield. We all had a lovely time and would recommend this place. Thank you

Family home, good for relaxing holiday.

The owner was very helpful answering preliminary queries; the description of the property was detailed and accurate, arrival instructions worked a treat; the kitchen is generously equipped and we appreciated the basic welcome supplies. It certainly has the feel of a well loved family home. We were not very ambitious exploring the area, but did enjoy walks alongside the river, the Chapel and 'beach' at Barca do Lago, lunch at the Golf Club, Ofir, Esposende and San Laurenco, Barcelos on market day. The nearest bar was our reliable supply of bread rolls! We spent quite a lot of time by the pool, which unfortunately does not have a shallow end suitable for very young children. Would be more than happy to recommend this property, with the proviso about the swimming pool.

Delightful, well equipped home from home

Perfect home from home in rural setting but close to all amenities and within easy access to Porto, unesco world heritage sites and the seaside. House and wonderfully established gardens, well positioned terraces and pool provided very spacious indoor and outdoor space for 7 adults. All the facilities you would want and then some, from towels by the pool, to BBQ equipment, clean and cushioned pool chairs, and sun loungers and plenty of shade if required for outdoor eating. The house inside was delightful, spotlessly clean and there was endless hot water. On top of that, the view from the wisteria covered balcony was lovely. The caretaker made sure everything inside and out remained in perfect condition and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed the short walk to both nearby bars and the little supermarket provided anything needed at short notice, ordering bread for us, saving a trip to the nearby superstore, only 5 minutes away in the car anyway! Local bread van and fish lady passed the house daily and there was a good selection. All in all, a great home to stay in, suited all of us perfectly, ages from 23 to 63. Highly recommended

Very good rent / très bonne location

Séjour début septembre 2015 : Nous avons découvert une villa immense à l'atmosphère particulier dans laquelle nous nous sommes sentis bien de suite. Elle est entretenue avec soin et convient parfaitement à une grande famille. Nous avons passé un séjour au calme et vraiment ressourçant, à la campagne mais proche de toute commodité et de sites touristiques. Merci infiniment aux propriétaires pour leur attention de tout instant envers leurs hôtes pour qu'ils ne manquent de rien. Nous conseillons vraiment cette location. Stay in the beginning of September, 2015: We discovered an immense villa to the atmosphere private individual in which we felt very well immediatly. it is carefully maintained and suits perfectly to a big family. We had a stay in the peace and really getting resource, in the campaign but near any convenience and to places of interest. Our holiday in North Portugal

This was our first visit to this area of Portugal, and it combined very neatly with a couple of days in Oporto at the end. The description on the website of the surrounding area is very accurate – if you have a car, you have access to the motorway and lots of very scenic towns and villages, as well as the local beaches. The property itself was much bigger than we expected – it easily accommodated two couples and a teenager and we all had ample space to do our own thing if we wanted. It was kept immaculately clean and was very well stocked with kitchen implements etc, which we appreciated. The gardens were a highlight, and we had fresh peaches from the garden picked for our arrival – which was a lovely touch! The caretaker/cleaner for the property made us really welcome, and told us about the local festivities which were due to take place during our stay including religious processions, shows and fireworks – a real bonus! We could have spent most of our holiday by the pool just doing nothing! The area is very rural and peaceful, and I went running on the little farm tracks that criss-cross the countryside around – getting a smile and hello from the tractor drivers! There was a lot of sporting activity on the river nearby, which we didn’t partake in, but I imagine this would suit families with active teenagers. I would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone wanting a quiet base in which to relax and from which to explore the surrounding area. It is especially good for a large group of friends or a large family.

Magical Wonderful Holiday

The villa is lovely. Even better than the understated pictures lead you to believe. Very well equipt, clean and comfortable with personal touches. We particularly were taken with the beautiful garden and all its hidden secrets, perfectly maintained but not overly manicured. The pool is a bit small for 'real' swimmers but suited us and our children's splashing around perfectly. Location is great and we felt the villa's views from the balcony and windows a treat. Close to small shops and cafes / bars and just a few minutes walk to the river and a short drive to the beach or the estuary at Esposende (we loved the fish restaurant on the promenade and the bicycle go carts you could rent to toodle up and down the prom). A short drive to the huge market in Braga and Bom Jesus (totally worth the walk up the steps - we had mini splashing fights in the fountains to beat the heat). Eating out was surprisingly inexpensive and we munched our way through Esposende and Fao as well as the local bars / cafe. The nearest big supermarket is on the roundabout to Esposende so again very convenient for families. I have recommended the villa to friends already.

Charming house in a peaceful location

The property is a lovely old farmhouse that has been converted into a very comfortable and characterful home, with 4 good sized bedrooms, loads of bathrooms, 2 spacious living rooms and a well-equiped kitchen. There are lots of places to sit out and eat and a very nice pool. The main rooms have lots of character and period features and the house feels like someones home instead of a standard holiday let. The gardens are really charming, with secret paths and fruit trees, and good views across the valley and river. There is a large bbq, small lawned area and plenty of space around the pool for lounging. The river is about a 10 minutes walk along a quiet road and is great for swimming and canoeing (one 4-man canoe and 1 single kayak in the garage, plus some bikes). There are several small 'locals' bars 200m to 400m away where you can also buy some bread and basics. The supermarket is about a 15 min drive and there are countless lovely beaches within 30 minutes drive. The daily maid service is excellent and very discrete, and there are more plates, dishes and glasses than you could ever hope to use. There are many interesting places to visit within 50kms, although, like us, you may spend most of your time around the pool or in the river. The weather in August was very hot and sunny (28-30 degrees) but cool in the evenings - perfect! Positives - spacious, quiet, lovely grounds and pool, characterful and 'homely', well equipped, close to river and coast. Negatives - none really, If I had to come up with some negatives then the kitchen could be larger (although it is perfectly adequate and there is also a utility room), and there doesn't appear to be anywhere to eat out within walking distance, other than the golf club (which we didn't try). Overall I would certainly recommend it. Our party comprised 2 kids (3 and 5) and 4 adults (ranging from 27 to 72) and everyone enjoyed the house. We hope to go back next year! Beautiful farmhouse vacation!

We had a wonderful stay in the house. We all just loved it and had a great time exploring the region. The house is so comfortable and the spirit of hospitality was everywhere! We especially appreciated the kindness and beautiful spirit of the caretaker! She kept the place spotless and it was great to have her come in daily and clean up a bit. We rented 3 other properties in Europe this same summer and this property provided the best service. We had a toddler and she loved running around the garden. It was lovely to be near the beach but not right on the busy tourist strand and it was so close to so many other beautiful towns. We highly recommend this house and hope to return sometime soon. Thank you!!!
