My name is Mike. I first discovered San Cassiano in the mid-1980s while travelling through Italy with my wife. We had spent many years exploring the world, always curious, always searching for places that felt special—but nothing captured our hearts quite like this corner of Tuscany.
In 1985, we found Villa Landi. It wasn’t just a house; it was a place that instantly felt like home (although needed some work!). Surrounded by chestnut-covered hills, close to the thermal town of Bagni di Lucca, and embraced by the warmth of the local community, San Cassiano had a charm we couldn’t resist. So we took a leap, bought the villa, and began a lifelong relationship with this remarkable village.
Over the years, between our travels, we always returned to San Cassiano. Each visit reminded us why we fell in love with Italy—the pace of life, the beauty of the landscape, the sense of history woven into every stone, and the simple joy of sharing good food and conversation with neighbours who quickly became friends.
