Detached, quiet domicile near the beach, Skala / Merikas Bay, EOT proof

Our lone-standing house (snow-white walls, light-blue doors, windows and closets) was built in 2010. It is located on a slight slope above the harbour city of Skala with sea view to south and east. The house has 2 balconies on the upper floor, which offer a great view of the island and sea; with clear weather you can see other islands like Ikaria and Leros. On the ground floor you will find partially covered pergolas, equipped with a large dining table and seats, cushions and chairs. The house is surrounded by a nice garden on two sides. Loungers invite you to relax and sunbathe. There is also an outdoor shower. The location is very peaceful; there are a few other (holiday) homes around.

Arrival information; through Athens-Piraeus: Direct public bus from Athens airport to the dock of the ferry to Patmos, about 75 min. ferry time. Transfer with ferry Patmos-Patmos (Blue Star Ferries): about 8h. Modern, comfortable and clean ferries; ferry schedule; see website, booking per internet or in travel agency at the Athens airport or in Piraeus. Through Samos, Kos or Leros (local airports): With ferry or catamaran (Dodekanisos Seaways) about 2-3 hours.

Excursions to other islands: With ferries and excursion boats, you can go on tours to the neighbouring islands, some with amazing, secluded beaches (Lipsos, Arki, Marathi).

A Charming House in a Great Location

We were very comfortable in this lovely house. It has everything needed to make it feel like a home from home. The special thing about it is the outside space where you can sit comfortably to read a book & have an evening drink/eat breakfast etc amongst beautiful planting with views of the sea. It’s only a 10 minute walk down to the lively port but the location is one of peace & tranquility.

We loved our stay in this charming Greek house.Everything matched the description; it was very peaceful with beautiful views of the nearby bay and town.The house is extremely well equipped with everything you need for your stay. The kitchen was great, with lots of utensils and pans, as well as all the basics for cooking.There’s a parking space outside the house so we were able to park our e-bikes outside easily.The house is spacious, the bedrooms have plenty of storage and there are lots of nice outdoor spaces (2 balconies, 2 terraces downstairs).The house is close to Skala town, about 15min walk. It is also easy to travel around the island from the location.Communication with the host ahead of our trip was easy and all the documents they shared for the house were helpful. We also appreciated the transfer to and from the ferry.We would love to come back and stay in the house.

Peaceful holidays in a beautiful house with a very homely atmosphere!

Beautiful house decorated with great taste, very clean, well equipped with everything we needed, very well located near the port of Patmos (walking distance if need be). It provided enough isolation and quietness but also good connection with the villages around. Nice views and quite protected from the strong winds in most parts of the house and the outdoor spaces (but not in one of the bedrooms, where the wind is much more audible when it blows strong). Great hospitality by the host/owners (Lis and Marc) who were very kind and offered a birthday cake for a celebration we had during our staying in their house. Lovely gesture, thank you! Gentle and discreet assistance provided by Nikos and Despoina.

A perfect place to stay

This wonderful, typically Greek home was everything we hoped for, and more. From the two downstairs terraces with various seating options and lush vegetation, to the two upstairs balconies offering incredible views and welcome cross-breezes, the house had every comfort. Spotlessly clean rooms with casual furnishings, a very well-equipped kitchen and ample storage space in every room including the bathroom, made it a pleasure to come home at the end of each day, and to wake up to breakfast on the terrace each morning. The location is a little out of town, which makes it blissfully quiet, but only a ten minute walk away (although with a couple of short but steep stretches). Vehicle parking is easy and private, and the whole property is very secure. Despina met us at the ferry at 2am, and was always available if we needed help. In short, this was the perfect place to stay for our two weeks on beautiful Patmos. Thank you for allowing us to stay.

Beautiful greek style house

Amazing location with views to Skala and the port. The arrival and check in was very easy. Despina and Nikos were there for us for anything we needed. They helped us with the car rental and drove us to the house. The house was very clean and beautifully decorated in greek style. We felt really comfortable and we would 100% recommend it. Thanks Lis for all the attentions.

Eine sehr gut ausgestattete und im Detail geschmackvoll eingerichtete Unterkunft. Hier kann man gut zur Ruhe kommen und sich auf der schön angelegten Gartenterasse ausruhen. Die Lage in Skala ist perfekt, nah dran und trotzdem abseits vom Trubel.

La casa è posizionata a 15 minuti a piedi dal centro di Skala, su una collina che guarda tre baie. L’appartamento è pensato per 4 persone, con un bagno completo, un bagno di servizio, due camere. La cucina è più che completa e non manca nulla che vi potreste immaginare. La qualità di ogni cosa, dagli asciugamani alle pentole è molto buona e regala un senso di comfort. Inoltre, all’arrivo si trovano detersivi, carta da cucina, domopak, zucchero e condimenti vari, oltre ad acqua e agrumi. Gli arredi sono in armonia con il luogo e accuratamente scelti per dare un senso di ordine, pulizia e benessere. Aria condizionata, lavatrice, lavastoviglie funzionano bene. In generale è una casa bella e molto curata, le sue terrazze, spazi all’aperto e vegetazione meravigliosa la rendono perfetta per una vacanza indimenticabile. Speriamo di tornare.

Idyllic retreat

From beginning to end our visit to Patmos was idyllic. The beautiful house on the hill is an oasis of calm with serene, relaxing decor of cool blues, greys and white, and beautiful spots around the well kept little gardens. Lis, the owner, was always very responsive and super helpful, as was Debbie who supported us locally. The house is equipped with everything you might need for a week or two away and everything was maintained to a high standard. We highly recommend this lovely holiday home.

House in Skala

Overall it was an amazing experience. Our hosts communication was great and check in was super easy. They even picked us up and dropped us off from the port. It’s around a 10-15 min walk from the port of Skala including beautiful views and such a cute house with everything you could need, including a well equipped kitchen to cook for yourself if desired. Short moto or atv rides away from essentially the whole island. Finding the house on our own was a bit confusing so I would recommend dropping a pin when you arrive, as the address provided doesn’t bring you exactly to the house. Other than that cannot recommend this house enough as the hospitality, cleanliness and location is very hard to beat.

Lovely villa in a quiet neighborhood

We had a lovely 5 night stay at the villa. Very beautiful views from every balcony. Quiet at night. Close to restaurants. The only downside is the Air Conditioner did not work in the one bedroom. We did sleep in the other bedroom though. Would stay here again! Thank you!

Une belle maison et une belle île.

Cette maison est petite mais parfaite ayant tout ce qu'il faut. Ce que l'on ressent avant tout, est que le propriétaire aime sa maison et la traite comme un petit bijou. Les vues sont jolies. L'air conditionné aide beaucoup en été. La terrasse est ravissante. Les personnes qui s'occupent de la maison pour le propriétaire sont d'une gentillesse incroyable. Et que cette île est belle! Les petits plus que nous avons apprécié: quelqu'un nous attendait pour nous ouvrir alors que le ferry arrivait à 4h00 du matin! Il y avait du sucre, du café, de l'huile, des savons, des sacs poubelles, du sel, du poivre et plein de choses que l'on doit normalement acheter le premier jour en arrivant dans une location. La machine à laver le linge est un plus! Et j'ai apprécié l'excellent wifi. On sent que la maison est bien tenue et on se sent vite chez soi. Personnellement j'ai aussi aimé être à proximité des restaurants et bars car certains soirs, on était un peu fatigué, et c'était pratique de ne pas conduire trop loin... Et vraiment le prix est très correct vu ce que l'on reçoit en échange. Merci, merci, merci. Et à bientôt!

Un piccolo gioiello.

Il nostro soggiorno a Patmos è stato meraviglioso, l’isola è incantevole, tranquilla e le persone sono incredibilmente gentili ed affabili. Despina e Nikos ci hanno accolti in modo impeccabile e, ciliegina sulla torta, abbiamo scoperto la meravigliosa casa di Liz. Dico scoperto perché ogni porta si apre su un angolo diverso di questa bellissima casa. Verande e balconcini, porticati e giardini. Tutto è estremamente pulito ed ogni dettaglio scelto con cura, dagli arredi, ai colori (il tipico bianco ed azzurro). La posizione inoltre è a mio parere una tra le migliori dell’isola. Si gode un panorama mozzafiato che guarda ai due lati di Patmos dall’alto. La casa sorge in un complesso residenziale di alto profilo circondata da altre abitazioni (tutte diverse e bellissime) in perfetto stile greco. Che dire, abbiamo scoperto un piccolo angolo di paradiso che rimarrà per sempre nei nostri cuori. Consiglio vivamente questa proprietà a chi desidera trascorrere una vacanza in un luogo che ristora l’anima e quest’isola a tutti.

Magic Patmos

We spent an amazing family holiday in Patmos. The house was just perfect even above the expectations. We had unforgettable breakfast and dinner in the lovely outside patio. The rooms were fresh and silent. Everything was perfectly clean and you can notice Lisa's attention in decorating the house in all the details. The location was very strategic: very close to Skala but in a quite zone with an amazing view on the sea, the gulf and the port. We even enjoyed a delicious view of Hora. We will definitely come back.
