The perfect stay in a unique location.

This is a truly stunning property in an amazing location. We had the perfect (quiet) new year here with our three children and a family friend. The grounds were amazing for walks and runs and the play equipment in the garden was an unexpected bonus for the children. We have left with very special memories. 😀

In the heart of the splendid Blenheim Estate, a lovely small lodge with private access. Beautiful interior design. The only two (very little) problems : - it was not easy to find out how to start the warming - the pans for cooking are a bit old.

A wonderful weekend

We had the best weekend at Lince Lodge. Daphne, the housekeeper, was exceptional, from guiding us to the cottage and checking in on us making sure we had everything we needed during the weekend. As pointed out by a previous guest, the cottage needs some repainting indoors, but that doesn’t stop us from booking another weekend in May...

Cozy home in beautiful country setting

My family and I spent 4 nights (29 Dec 2018 - 2 Jan 2019) at Benjamin's lovely home in Woodstock, Oxfordshire. The house is very cozy and peaceful. Lots of wildlife and opportunities for walks on the beautiful grounds of Blenheim Palace. I would strongly recommend this location for anyone wanting to get away for some peace and quiet. Ben and Daphne were both very responsive and easy to work with.

Nice property but in need of updating

Our family stayed in this property for 3 nights in July 2019. We paid top dollar for our stay and so our expectations were justifiably high. The pictures used to market this property are outdated; they show a pristine and uncluttered house. In our view the house has been renovated many years ago. The fridge and freezer were full of the owners own items, many opened and part consumed which was unappealing. In our view, to be a top quality holiday rental at the high prices charged, this property needs to be updated. The best part was the outdoor fire pit, which was great. Overall, the cottage itself and its location are stunning but we were a bit disappointed with the state of the property.

Elegant cottage located on a beautiful woodland property

Lince Lodge located in the spectacular natural surroundings of the English Cotswolds. Conveniently located to historic towns of Woodstock and Oxford. The property offers warm elegant decor, excellent kitchen/laundry facilities and 5 star beds for a comfortable nights sleep. An amazing place to stay while exploring the surrounding area, highly recommended.

Lovely stay but we asked for a few things to be cross checked and arrived and of the three things we asked to check two were not done. However the owner was very responsive and kind in the response.

Idilic and stylish cottage

We stayed here just before Christmas and I have to say it is idilic. The owners had put a Christmas tree up for us and the beautiful cottage blended historic charm with modern style and conveniences. The location is truly magical, you drive through the park and through a short patch of woods and then it opens up into a beautiful garden with the cottage in the middle and the garden stretching down to a river. Daphne could not have been more helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Woodstock is a good walk away, but it’s all through Blenheim Palace grounds, so wonderful on a sunny day. Car access is easy and there’s good parking at the lodge. We loved it. A wonderful place in winter or summer.

Fabulous setting compromised by poor in house facilities

No welcoming pack , No 'fluffy' towels. All were low quality (650gms!!) . Legs on both armchairs unsafe. No matches . No kindling. No kitchen scales despite assurance of them being available. Back patio lights not working. Climbing frame UNSAFE. (one leg not grounded). Only three coffee pods for coffee machine and only small cafetiere (cracked on lip). Surrounded by owners food, clothes and other personal items. DESPITE ALL THE ABOVE WE HAD A LOVELY WEEKEND. A shame as this is top of the range and priced location not matched by the facilities .

Perfect Staycation!

We had the most wonderful time at Lince lodge. It is truly magical. We celebrated my husbands 40th with a couple of friends and our children. The kids absolutely loved the outdoor play area which has a zip line, trampoline and a swing...hours of fun. We were blessed with wonderful weather so we spent a lot of time outdoors and made use of the fire pit. The house had everything we needed and was very clean.It was just the perfect getaway and felt so special to be within the palace grounds. Daphne is so wonderful and was on hand to help us with anything we needed. We will definitely visit again.

Fantastic getaway!

We had such a lovely stay - the house was perfect for our family of 5. It was the most beautiful setting with lots of things to do and see in the area. Our kids loved the zip line and trampoline in the garden. The house has everything we needed and Daphne was extremely helpful. Thank you!

Palace retreat

We had a wonderful week at Lince Lodge. Daphne made us incredibly welcome and did a brilliant job of looking after us. The setting and house are beautiful and we really enjoyed evenings outside with the fire pit burning. Overall would highly recommend

Weekend at the Lince Lodge

The lodge is in a beautiful, secluded location with the only downside being it is hard to find. But Daphne met us in town and allowed us to follow her to the house which was a great help. She was accessible all weekend to answer ?? And was a huge help. The beds are very comfortable and the house was supplied with everything we needed. It is a 45 min walk into Woodstock so I would recommend having a car. Our only regret was that we were so busy with wedding events over the weekend we did not get to spend enough time enjoying the property. Hopefully we can return one day!

Enjoying nature in style

We have spent 3 nights in the most beautiful setting ever, both: the surrounding Blenheim estate woods and fields and the house are simply stunning. If you love historic buildings, nature and walks and usually have to plan your walking routes, this time you will find them just outside your doorstep. We have enjoyed the spacious and stylish, yet cosy house, saw stags,pheasants, deer and other animals from our windows, spent evenings in front of an open fire and used swings and chairs outside when felt like staying in. Thank you Benjamin and Daphne for making our stay so lovely! xxx

Beautiful retreat

Our family of six had a lovely long weekend here. The Cotswolds villages were very busy, so we opted to spend our time in this delightful, quiet hideaway. Benjamin and Daphne were attentive to details, including fresh flowers. The home is very clean and comfortable and the grounds are beautiful and quiet. A highlight of our time in England. The WiFi and dishwasher must be new because the instructions in the handbook need updating, but those were very minor issues. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a charming, quiet and comfortable place to stay.

Magical family getaway

My family: 3 children (aged 10, 8, and 6), husband, and au pair and I stayed here for 4 days in July 2017. The location is ideal, situated among the tallest most beautiful trees. Outside it has a rope swing hanging from one of those majestic trees, as well as a standard swing set, and much to our children's glee - a zip line and trampoline! Inside, the house is just as magical. Filled with window seats with plush cushions, board games, a TV nook, the prettiest kitchen that mixes both historical house and modern convenience and a mud room with a separate washer and dryer. We ended a 2 week European tour in this house and it was just the respite we needed. Woodstock is nearby and with a grocery store and shops and good restaurants. The manager of the house was so very helpful in arranging a birthday dinner for my husband's 40th and answering any questions we might have. The house was also stocked with essentials which was so convenient! This is now in our top 10 favorite places ever and we will definitely be back!

This was an all around wonderful experience, that started with a fully stocked welcome basket! The home is perfect. It is British countryside at its best. The home has everything you could need and more. It is very beautifully decorated and has all the amenities you could desire; all up to the highest American kitchen bathroom standards. The staff was gracious and helpful. If you have children the playground out back complete with zip line will keep them busy and smiling. The walks through the property of Blenheim were lazy and wondrous and a nice gastro-pub lunch in Woodstock at the Crown was a perfect reward. We will certainly return to this very special place! You will be given a comprehensive book of instructions but also our phone numbers in case of any problems or questions. .

The Lince is just utterly magic. It looks like a miniature castle hidden in woodland. Prepare to be completely enchanted - we are - and spoiled rotten.
