Bienvenido a nuestro apartamento rústico frente a la playa. Este espacio único ha sido tallado en el sótano de nuestra casa de playa de más de 100 años. Acaba de pasar por una rehabilitación interior completa: alfombras nuevas y pintura para interiores, linóleo nuevo en los baños y la cocina. Hemos recreado este espacio único en una pequeña unidad luminosa, limpia, cómoda y alegre donde puede crear maravillosos recuerdos familiares.

Creo que es la mejor ubicación en Ocean View: las playas, aunque no son privadas, ¡son fantásticas! Estamos situados directamente sobre el agua, simplemente camine por su puerta por el sendero de arena y ¡está justo en la playa de la hermosa bahía de Chesapeake!

La cocina cuenta con un refrigerador grande, cocina / horno a gas de tamaño completo y todos los elementos esenciales para las comidas.

Consta de 2 dormitorios y 1 1/2 baño y se describe con precisión como un apartamento en el sótano, dentro de una hermosa cabaña de playa rústica. Tiene su propia entrada privada y aparcamiento. Las ventanas son de estilo abovedado más pequeño, que contienen 3 unidades de aire acondicionado.

Debe poder bajar a la unidad al bajar 3 escaleras. Cuidado, si tienes más de 6 pies de altura, ¡no se permite saltar! - hay tuberías de radiador a lo largo de los techos que son típicas de este tipo de apartamento en el sótano.

Si eres alto, ¡trae un casco!

Y si alguna vez has jugado baloncesto en la NBA, ¡este puede no ser el lugar adecuado para ti!

Estamos ubicados directamente sobre el agua, solo salga por su puerta y estará justo en la playa de la hermosa bahía de Chesapeake.

Quiero atenuar tus expectativas con esta unidad. Tiene más de 100 años y aunque me encanta, puede que no sea para todos, ya que los electrodomésticos y los accesorios de plomería están un poco anticuados. Este es un apartamento que se ha creado a partir de un espacio en el sótano. Es limpio y cómodo y, por supuesto, en la playa. Los techos son bajos y las ventanas son pequeñas. ¡Hemos hecho todo lo posible para crear un espacio cómodo para que usted y su familia lo disfruten! Sin embargo, el énfasis debe estar en la hermosa playa de Chesapeake Bay Beach y poder disfrutarla mientras se hospeda en una unidad frente a la playa.

The location of the property is perfect. It’s just a walk to the back for the beach so that was amazing, but the property itself needs better upkeep. There was mildew in the bathroom and on the utensils and pots. There were crumbs layer of dust on some surfaces, and the smell hits you as soon as you open the door. Communication was nonexistent, even though we were able to figure out the problems ourselves, It would’ve been nice to get a reply back to the messages I sent.

Certainly it would be helpful if you actually reached out to us. As we did check our phone, not a single message was sent to us - we strive to assist so that all of our guests have a wonderful experience. However, leaving such a review while making no attempt for a resolution or even to inform the host of any such issue is a bit disingenuous. Thank you though for being our guest and we will of course inform the cleaners to not leave mildew on the utensils and pots!!!

Perfect for a quick trip or week stay

Location was great. Neighborhood was nice and also pretty quiet. The walk to the bay was very quick and easy to do. Grill on the property was nice. The sink and the half bath didn’t work at the time of our stay. Some of the sinks and appliances were a little rusty, but you are at the beach. Overall a great place to stay.

The property was just as described, it was a perfect little spot on the beach. My brother and I were able to get up every morning and take a walk on the beach before visiting with our dad and siblings. Our brother lives in Norfolk and this house was only 2 miles away. I was very happy with our stay

Peaceful and relaxing

This property delivers! House is right on the beach. Beach is not crowded at all. Luxury linens and comfortable beds. Only complaint was we couldn't get WiFi or watch TV. We were there during hurricane Dorian so guess that may have been a factor. It didn't matter to me but the children were a little bummed. A wonderful place to relax and be on the beach.

The ceiling was low, bathroom sink was clogged. Bathroom floor needs work. Property was clean and beds were comfortable. Loved being at the beach. They have a different Property i stayed at on an earlier date that was great. Although we didnt care for the mentioned things, the process was easy and the owners were good to deal with.

Not What We Pictured

It didn't look as well in person as it did in the pictures. The property description was accurate in that it was a basement space, but it was VERY rustic and misleading as far as the actual beach access. We thought that it was a back or side door with direct access to the beach - it is not and you have to walk around the house, where others are renting above, to get to the path to the beach. The beach itself was exactly as we expected and had hoped for. It would have been nice if there had been a outdoor sitting area for our part of the house. For the age of the house, the owners have definitely tried to work with what they have, and it is cute, but a little too rustic for our taste.

property not recommended

We would not recommend this property as a vacation rental for anyone. There is no rustic charm . . . just an old, dirty, moldy, damp basement and probably not even safe. The smoke alarms were disarmed and laying about the property, material stuffed into electrical sockets and a couple of exposed light sockets overhanging the shower, mold everywhere especially the kitchen sink and taps, holes and water stains in the ceiling, rusty old refrigerator. We paid almost $2,500 for 4 people plus pets to stay here. Only 2 of us stayed as there was no refund and we couldn't afford alternative accommodation . . the others were totally repulsed and did not stay. Good beach access and nice beach!

Not exactly what I expected

I knew we were staying in a basement apartment, and that was ok. But I did not expect the disrepair. There were holes in the ceiling and some spots in the walls that were fixed but not painted. Being a basement there was a very musty smell and an odor from previous pets that stayed. A dehumidifier and some air freshener would go a long way. I bought some Febreze and used the whole bottle throughout the week and finally got the smell under control. There was only one functional bathroom and it was very small, the other half bath was out of order. Being on the beach, it would have been nice to have a spot to hang wet clothing outside to dry. More towels for a week stay would have been nice. We only had 2 per person. On the upside, the beds were comfortable, there is a large tv and the internet worked well. For the most part the apartment was clean, just needed some tlc. I was not expecting 5 star accommodations and knew this was an older property, but for the cost of the stay I think some things could be fixed.

Would not stay again

Seems over priced unless you’re ONLY paying for being on the beach. Otherwise house is in pretty bad condition. Property manager very polite and professional. Beach is very nice as well. House seems to be falling apart. Would not stay again.

Of course this "Dafonso" would not stay again. Perhaps because he was evicted as he felt that it would be a good idea to have a party, advertise it on Facebook and have about 50 people show up. So we CXLD the party, and captured his security deposit! Just a bum looking to take advantage of the world. And then leave lies for a review!

Unexpectedly Perfect Location

I was hesitant about low ceilings, but my 6'1" husband was fine. The apartment was clean and cozy. It was the perfect location to take advantage of the surrounding area without too much hustle and bustle. I really appreciated the low traffic and noise, the private parking, and semi private beach. Will definitely book this property again!

Not Worth It

The beach was lovely, but everything else was a bust. The space is in poor condition: my kid punctured his foot on an exposed carpet staple, there is visible mold throughout the ceiling, and the ceiling is reinforced with shims as it is also visibly sagging with damage. The a/c is cool (though very, very loud). The bathroom has unfinished drywall in the shower cubby, the bathtub faucet does not work (shower only, which is not great for kids), and the water would shift to scalding without notice. I felt unsafe having my kid in the tub with the water running as the temperature was so variable (the upstairs neighbors also warned us about this issue). Though the listing says it sleeps 5, we were also charged an extra guest fee for 3 adults and 1 toddler. I contacted the host to ask about this and they said that the fee is triggered after 3 guests. I cannot find this anywhere on the listing, and the just told me to contact VRBO. I did, but VRBO said that the host is the only one who can help. Frustrating all around. Will not be back.

Yes, Emily was very angry about being charged for the extra guest and the dog. Our listing is clear on this - we do charge pet fees and for additional guests. The hot water is hot, but thank you for mentioning it, we will certainly adjust it. The unit is older, and does have some imperfections, however, we are happy to provide everything needed to enjoy the beach - which is right outside the door. The unit is clean and comfortable and all the issues mentioned in this review have been rectified. Thank you and please come back again!

It was nice little place to stay with couple people and small dog. It stayed really cool inside and was right on the beach. Great location too.

Perfect spot to chill on the beach

Overall everything was great! Short walk to the beach and plenty of room for my family including the dogs. I would definitely recommend this listing for people in the future.

Great service and pet friendly

The management here it’s the best. If you have any issues all you have to do is reach out. We loved the apartment. It was perfect for me, my husband and our two dogs. The Beach is just a few steps away. It’s nice to be able to take walks on the beach especially with my furry little babies. Stay here and you won’t regret it. George and Kathleen offer top notch service and at prices you can afford..

Quick Beach Getaway

Cute rustic place and description is very accurate. Straight path to the beach. Communication with property manager was great. We would definitely stay here again if there were not any people in the rental above this one. The nights are very difficult to sleep because you can hear everything they are doing (i.e., music, laughing, banging around etc). But if you can sleep through anything this place is for you!

Great Little Cottage Getaway

My family of 3 stayed at this property for 5 days. The location was absolutely perfect! It is on the beach and the area did not get crowded at all! The property pictures and description are accurate and the hosts are so kind in all their communications. We had an incredible time!

We had a great time! It was nice not having to drive to the beach! The beach was not crowded at all, it was almost like a private beach!

Did I mention that this is a waterfront unit? Just a few sips of coffee and you are on the beach ready to fish or just run and play, for you and your little 4 legged friends! (And the little two legged ones!!). The beach is also pet friendly. Keep them on a leash between 10 am and 5 pm.
