Mother and daughters trip!

The place is awesome, great location. Very peaceful with a great view of horses grazing in pasture. House was very clean and beds very comfortable. Everything exactly how it was described in the Vrbo add.

Great place for families

The layout of the cabin was great, with separate living areas, so the kids in our group could have their own gathering spot separate from the adults, but within ear range. A nice surprise was the fire table on the back deck. The fire pit was too damp to use with all the rain we had, but the table provided a nice alternative.

Great cabin/house with lots of room.

The cabin was very clean and the owner very easy to communicate with. You will be up in the mountains so be prepared to travel 50-60 minutes to most activities. Falls Creek Falls State park had beautiful waterfalls, but only one swimming hole. We couldn't find a beach area, but the swimming pool and hot tub in the community was great. Very nice place to vacation.

Beautiful cabin in a beautiful place

The cabin was super spacious, clean and comfortable. The amenities inside were great; no complaints there. Location was fabulous. We fed the horses in the meadow a few times (make sure to buy some apples, carrots, etc). Less than 20 minutes from Fall Creek Falls overlook. Can’t wait to come back! Small ant problem in the kitchen but that did not affect our stay at all.

Great Location

The cabin was in a beautiful setting and well equipped with huge potential to be a fabulous stay. Unfortunately, it needs a deep clean. We fought ants in the kitchen and the dust and dead ladybirds all over the house did not help with allergies. We told the agent about the ants and nothing was done although we were only there for 2 nights. The proximity to Fall Creek Falls was awesome.

There is no sound barrier between floors. We could hear the kids talking in the room above us. Also had to buy our own sheets due to scented detergent. Also bought a mattress pad, the beds are extra firm.

Loved the house. Had a great time

We washed windows to see out the front. Garbage disposal didnt work. One bedroom TV finally got cable. Neighborhood pool is very misleading. Ant issues by kitchen sink.

Hi Jon, So glad you enjoyed your stay at Deerwatch Cabin. Thank you for your review and for your hospitality of cleaning our windows. As the cabin is situated on the west side, we endure a lot of weather on that side of the cabin. Thank you for letting us know about the disposal. We would have been happy to come and make that simple fix had we been aware. The neighborhood pool is privately owned and we encourage our guests to enjoy the beautiful pool at Fall Creek Falls Park just minutes down the road. Our listing here does not indicate a neighborhood pool because we are not associated with that. Unfortunately, we do have ants and other insects being as we are in a wooded area. We do have monthly visits from the exterminator in hopes that this will control the issue. Please come and visit us again and enjoy our beautiful cabin.

PERFECT.....WONDERFUL.....and very PEACEFUL

We were looking for a location for a weekend mini vacation for our adult family of brothers/sisters and spouses and we found it here. This beautiful cabin offered everything we needed from the large back porch to the cozy fireplace. Kitchen had everything we needed to support 9 adults with extra room to spare. 4 bedrooms worked perfect and the upstairs loft area was used for another sleeping area. The morning view of horses grazing didn't hurt either. Men played golf at Falls Creek Falls which is only minutes away. Owners very easy to work with. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyway.

Hi Steven, Thank you for your review and thank you for letting me know about the hammock as well as the foosball. Had I known this, I would have been happy to bring one over. Pest Control was just there about the issue with the ants and that may have had them on the move since it had just been sprayed. Bedding is a personal preference therefore that is an issue that is hard to manage for everyone and we do appreciate your feedback. We do hope you’ll come back and see us again soon.

Beautiful property and cabin!

Cabin was the perfect location to Fall Creek Falls. It was also fully stocked kitchen which was so nice. Only suggestion is maybe putting a welcome packet upon arrival for information about grounds.

Great place for a relaxing getaway

We had a total of 10 people in our group; 6 adults and 4 kids ranging in ages 6 months-13. The cabin had plenty of room for all of us. When we weren’t hiking we loved spending time on the front porch with the amazing views of the pasture and horses. The back porch was also another great hangout, the new deck addition was great. We had a great time playing cornhole out in the front yard and having s’mores around the fire. We cooked all of our meals and there was plenty of space to cook and eat. The kids also enjoyed swimming at the pool, we got lucky the first two days and had the pool to ourselves but our last day the pool was packed. Would recommend this cabin if your looking for a chill and relaxing getaway!!

Beautiful cabin stay

Even prettier than the pictures! This cabin was wonderful - very comfortable, with plenty of room for everyone to spread out. My favorites were the front porch and the upstairs loft area - great views! The back deck addition was a great surprise as well.

We had the best family vacation in a long time. The cabin was wonderful and the surrounding property was stunning. It was so relaxing and enjoyable. We visited Falls Creek Falls and had a great time. Would love to come back again .

A great cabin for large/multiple families!

We found this property during a last minute planning for a long weekend getaway with the family. We bring a lot to the party with 6 kids (ranging from 16 to 2) and this cabin had plenty of room for all of us. The community is very nice and we even met some of the neighbors and they went out of their way to make up feel welcome. When we arrived there were some workers that were putting the finishing touches on an enormous extended deck on the back of the house which was a wonderful addition for outside seating. The house had everything we could have asked for to keep the kids busy while we were there. We found board games, some outside games, and a few movies as well. I honestly wish we could have stayed longer and just had a day or two to just hang out at the cabin. The boys and I even got a little time to do some fishing on the 3 lakes in the community (the smallest being right across the road from the cabin). The firepit outside was used for a small fire and smores at the end of one of the evenings, but be prepared to bring your own wood (there was some wood on site, but it was very wet and did not burn well). Overall, we loved the property and everyone had a great time. Thanks Cindy!

Perfect in every way!

I can’t say enough great things about our time at Deer Watch Cabin. They layout was perfect for our group of 8. The host went above and beyond to make updates to the cabin (not pictured), provide intentionality in activities and necessities (e.g., games, corn hole, kitchen items and spices, extra toilet paper), and also an ensure easy/flexible checkout experience. The property was beautiful and we were able to feed the horses and catch fish in the pond. Location is very close to fall creeks falls! We look forward to returning to this cabin in the future!

Welcome to our beautiful vacation rental retreat! This home was purchased in 2015 by Cindy and Bill Kern. Their primary residence was sunny South Florida, but they fell in love with Tennessee and the quiet, beautiful, simple life. They decided to buy a vacation home for the entire family to enjoy. Sadly, both Cindy and Bill passed away in 2024 leaving the cabin to their two sons, Billy and Danny.

We love the location of this cabin in such a quiet village. Grandview Village Resort is so peaceful and we absolutely fell in love with this cabin.

Deerwatch is centrally located in Spencer, Tn. We are located minutes away from Fall Creek Falls. This State Park has miles and miles of hiking, biking, walking trails, natural swimming areas, and numerous falls and cascades. There are mountain streams and caverns to explore, horseback riding, and an outdoor amphitheater for relaxing and listening to music. After a day at the park return to the peace and tranquility of our beautiful Deerwatch cabin.
