Thank you James for the review! I must correct some misleading information for any future potential guests. I'm not sure why you stated something that does not reflect our contract in any way when you say: "...groups of people coming and going after 11PM...will be immediately escorted off the property without refund." We do not escort our guests off our property :) Guests may come and go 24 hours per day. We would have no process in place for such, and considering our many conversations prior to booking and afterward, we are a bit confused why this misunderstanding never came up to discuss. This is specifically what our contract says: "Any disturbances, including large groups of people coming in and going out of the home, especially after 9:00 pm will result in a $1000 fine." People may come and go as they please. People who have parties, with large groups of people coming in and out of the house and DISTURBING THE NEIGHBORHOOD are not escorted off the property but they are fined $1000. Parties are illegal and our $1000 fine doesn't compare to what the City of San Diego would fine the guests for having a party. You were a great guest, and there certainly were no parties or disturbances in the neighborhood and we would be delighted to welcome you back next time you come to San Diego!

It's unfortunate when a guest is allowed by VRBO to write what's known in the industry as a "revenge review" when they destroy property at one's home. This guest makes a lot of assumptions that are incorrect or possibly simply made up to "get us back" for charging them appropriately for the damage they did to our home: 1) There was an unfortunate incident that a guest that was to come at the property the next day when this group left, got his dates mixed up, knocked on the door, and was very upset and embarrassed that he made such a ridiculous mistake. Karen here made this a real issue once they found out that they had to pay for their damage. So, someone knocks at the door (which we're terribly sorry about) and they want one night free as compensation? OK, right. 2) We have no "Ring" videos in the backyard facing the property. We do have 2 cameras outside that face away from the property and those are well documented and explained in our ad for the home. It is 100% legal and disclosed. 3) We just spent $62,500 on a brand-new HVAC system that we are excited about. They were shown how to use it and it's quite simple so their comment is strange. It has the amazingly convenient and environmentally friendly way of changing the temperature in each room! There is a decent size smart screen in every single room so every single guest can control their own temperature right within their room, so if guests like to sleep in colder temperatures (like me), they can do that while another guest in another room can set their own temperature. It's in the user's hands, and believe me, there is no staff remotely that changes Fahrenheit to their pleasure off property. We wish "Karen" well here and she can talk to as many managers as she likes, but when she breaks property, she will have to pay for it as per her contract, and no number of conspiracy theories can change that. We're happy that she gave us an opportunity to talk about our state-of-the-art HVAC system though because it's amazing and we can't wait to show it to you. We realize those little conveniences matter during a stay and I think you're going to find dozens of them here!

As Summit can attest, we are very picky with who we let into our home due to the "party house" reputation that short term rentals are getting, and the political environment in City Hall that is trying to regulate or terminate short term rentals. Summit's group was kind, professional, courteous, and extremely clean. The complete opposite of a party group and one that every VRBO host would be delighted with.
