The property was very nice, but the cleaning crew/inspector of the property needs check on the simple things like making sure that all the lights works we found in every room, light bulb’s were out the master bathroom had one light over the sinks working, The first night made a mistake and put the breakfast muffins on the counter next morning they were covered in ants. Other than that the cabin was very nice and our family enjoyed their time together.

Beautiful and spacious cabin

Easy checkin process, great value, close to the village/lake, and plenty of room for our group. Kids loved the game loft. Great communication from the hosts. A++

Big Bear Cabin 2024

The cabin location was good and it is close to town with all the major attractions. The only major problem we had was there was no air conditioning. It was very hot starting around 2-3 pm until late at night.

Crystal Lake Inn

Home is beautiful perfect for large groups. Few recommendations: update the television's throughout the home to smart TV, clean fire place chimney, replace the snow shovel, replace the down spouts for gutters, have neighbor trim the tree that is dropping branches on the driveway. Shovel or salt walk ways and porch ( had a slip on the ice and steps) additional towels for bathrooms and kitchen

Sorry. We do not recommend this place

Many problems. No internet as the owner had not paid the bill. The kids enjoyed the pool table but the pool sticks needed new tips. The other games did not work. Kitchen was not stock that well. Oven did not work well. Took forever to cook in the oven.

Not what we expected

This home was dated and old. For the price we were charged and what you charge for this property, you should upgrade this home. It needs new furniture, lighting, appliances, nicer linens. It was dark and dreary, smelled like cigarettes, not enough seating for our family. The pictures did not match the actual rental home. We will not rent from your rental property again. We have never had an issue with VRBO and I’m really heart broken how a rental property can charge all these fees, have all these rules, make you sign agreements and then you drive all the way over there and are disappointed.

Nice stay, needs updating

Overall, the location and stay was great. A couple of things we noticed were the house needs updating. The doors inside don’t close right or lock in place, the air hockey table doesn’t really work, the outlets are pretty loose. Pool table was a hit and we made it work.

Fun game room, but home needs cleaning and maintenance

Overall the property has a lot of potential, but it needs some maintenance. Description states that it comes with ceiling fans through out, what it doesn't state is this means there is NO AC in 90 degree weather or that the fan in the master bedroom is broken. Half of the electrical sockets are too loose to actually use. Pictures show a Jacuzzi/hot tub, but it is broken as well. The photos show a BBQ, but it won't heat past 300 degrees. Wording in the description is very specific to make it seem nicer than it is. There are clearly urine stains all around the upstairs toilet and given that we are in a global pandemic the home really was not cleaned very well at all. For the amount that you spend per night on this home you can find something nicer. Property management did not seem to know the property very well either. I would not recommend this property, in fact I have had multiple friends reach out and ask about it and I DO NOT recommend this property.

Hello Farnaz, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and give us feedback on the home as well as your stay. We appreciate you for your feedback related to maintenance, this will help us to improve our services for future reference. We really apologize that you felt like the description were misleading. We will definitely clarify misleading information in the description and fix it for future guests. Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you during your stay at Big Bear, Unfortunately you didn’t report this to us as we are having a maintenance team on toes 24*7 who goes to the cabin and fixes the issues. We can see how the photos make the home look renovated and well furnished, and apologize for that. Inconvenience Highly Regretted. Kind Regards, Destination Big Bear

Could have been cleaner

The property is old and dated, which was expected. But the property wasn’t cleaned well. I didn’t feel like I could cook on the stove because of a weird rock feature above the stove that had cobwebs hanging from it.

Hello Heather, As listed in the photos of our properties yes some of them are more rustic as we do live in the forest of Big Bear as expected. Feel free to take a look at some of our more modern luxury homes to fit your needs. On behalf of Destination Big Bear, we sincerely apologize for the issues during your stay. Taking a deeper look into your reservation you never called to let us know about this issue. Cleaning is our top priority especially in the time we are living in. If you contacted us directly about this we could have happily resolved it by sending a cleaner out to the property. We are terribly sorry that your vacation wasn't up to par. We hope that you still were able to enjoy our island in the sky. Warm Regards, Destination Big Bear

Good for the price

This place is okay. It’s a little small, especially in the kitchen and bedrooms, but it’s fairly nice. The loft game room carpet is extremely stained and the arcade game doesn’t work. There’s no hot tub, which is a bummer. All these things are stated in the description so you know ahead of time, but it’s still a bummer when you get there. Also, the hot water runs out after 3 people shower. This house is less expensive than most and you get what you pay for. All in all, the house was fine, it just didn’t have a lot of the things that make the trip that extra bit better.

Great place for the price. Cabin needs to be a lil more detail as far as cleaning. Needs some updates in pans and dishes. Great location close to the village. I would recommend it and will most definitely be back.
