Like some of our other tropical properties, the open-air concept has its benefits and drawbacks but most of our guests love the fact that Puerto Escondido doesn't require closed in spaces because of its year-round balmy temperatures. That concept isn't for everyone but those who love the warm climate, always love the open-air experience however I understand that during the the rainy season and specially during the storm is hard to keep the Villa pristine and this can affect the guests experience. We passed along your comments relative to the towels and bed covers to the property manager and the property owners. It is thanks to feedback like yours that we are able to offer this type of insight to our property owners so they can support us in maintaining the highest standards and quality for the properties in our rental inventory. The service from house personal was exceptional and their attitude and disposition make our days more enjoyable. The only opportunity we identified is the concierge service. In general it was complicated to get in touch and have a continuous communication; and agreeing on the final prices and additional services was also complicated. I noticed there is always an "effort" to charge you more for anything, even simple things.Watch out, the house is like 30min from "La Punta" (restaurants), so plan that in your stay and transportation and you will avoid any frustration. Overall, it was amazing and I would differently recommend and repeat.

A group of us came together for our 40th birthdays and we had the most amazing time. We didn’t leave the house much because the staff cooked better than anywhere we tried and we didn’t want to keep trying random places, knowing we had the best at our finger tips. The rooms were beautiful and most of them had immaculate views. There were 11 of us, but it never felt like we were crowded because the house is so open and expansive. There was always a new place to hang out around the property for morning coffee, sunset drinks and all the things. We had fun playing in the ocean and the pool. Mauricio was a very kind and patient host, and was always quick to answer any of the millions of questions I had and arrange anything we needed. I really don’t know how I’ll ever top this entire experience. I plan to try another one of their rentals in the future for a smaller group!

Great Location, but concerns

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house and location were wonderful. The house was right on a beautiful beach and the rooms were lovely. One big problem was that the rental company were unprofessional. For example, they did not show up at check in as promised and that made the process very hard. We were never told there was a code needed to enter the gate for the house. This was after telling us we would have to pay $50 if we were late. Plus, there was no information on how to navigate the house such as an information book on logistics. We have rented houses in the area for many years and this was never our experience before. Further, the prices the company wanted to charge for meals was ridiculous and we ended up hiring our own amazing chef.

Beautiful House, Disappointing Service

The property itself is absolutely stunning, with a beautiful beach and a pristine, well-maintained interior. It was a pleasure to stay there, and the physical beauty of the home is everything you could hope for.Unfortunately, the experience was significantly let down by the service and staff. We found them to be inflexible and not very service-oriented, which was surprising for a property of this caliber in Mexico. It almost felt as if their sole purpose was to prepare meals, and their presence wasn't focused on providing a comprehensive, attentive guest experience as we've seen at other properties. Communication was also a major issue; the lack of clarity around transportation payments created uncomfortable situations with drivers.We also had a frustrating issue with the air conditioning in one of the bedrooms. While a staff member named Santiago initially said it was fixed, it stopped working again later that evening, and an expert was only called to fix it after a second request. The most unsettling part of this interaction was when he came to the bedroom late at night and seemed to have been drinking, which made my family and me feel very uncomfortable.In summary, while the house itself is five-star and absolutely breathtaking, the service and staff are not on par with the quality of the property and ultimately created a mixed and disappointing experience.

This ocean front beach property is beautiful , just steps away from the sand and ocean, although it needs a little bit of maintenance in some areas , we were happy and had a great time , service crew was very nice and helpful , some house items need to be upgraded ASAP , like bathroom towels and bed sheets are old and weary, another downside was that when it rains , in some rooms water poores thru the windows , food is just basic, nothing special , firts 2 days food was served in poor portions and we paid a lot of money for groceries . No hot water on the showers. Ice has to be purchased on demand. Menu is very limited, Staff is very kind and helpful but not well trained to serve. Mauricio the supposed Administrator never showed up when we asked him to come to the house because we had issues with the menu, a lot of extras with the shopping list. The cooker missed one day because she couldnt get to the house and no body was in the house to supevised the staff in the kitchen , they dont know how to cook that they menu and the administrator never came to the supervised. We have rented other houses in Oaxaca and we dont even have to ask for anything .Very bad client service from Mauricio.

Experiencia

Muy bonita propiedad para ir con familiares y amigos. La experiencia de tener beachfront es muy agradable, además de que las amenidades/instalaciones de la propiedad son muy buenas. Sin embargo, quisiera resaltar que se nos hizo muy complicado el proceso de gestión y contacto con los administradores, para todo es un cargo extra y tienen sobre precios incluso para el servicio de chef y servicio de super. Además, de las 11 personas que acudimos al viaje, 5 se enfermaron del estomago. Por lo que el costo/beneficio del servicio de alimento no fue lo que esperabamos.

Hablaremos con el administrador para hacer una investigacion a detalle. Sin embargo nos hae feliz saber que tvieron unas buenas vacaciones en la villa. Lovely Property with Concerns Over Management and Security

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We recently stayed at this property, attracted by its beautiful amenities and scenic location. While the property itself met our expectations, there were aspects of our stay that were concerning.Management Practices: Our experience was significantly affected by the management's handling of services. The pricing for the "private chef services" was surprisingly high. As long-term residents of Mexico, we are well-versed in the typical cost of such services, and the prices quoted to us seemed excessive, especially given the quality of meals provided. This discrepancy was disappointing.Upon declining further chef services, we noticed a marked change in the staff's behavior, including restricted access to amenities like the washing machine. This felt unnecessarily punitive.However, after reaching out directly to the property owner, the situation improved. The owner offered revised pricing for the services and facilitated better interaction with the staff. While this resolution was appreciated, the initial approach by the management left much to be desired.Safety Concerns: Additionally, there was an incident that raised concerns about the property's security. At sunset, two unidentified individuals attempted to enter the property from the beach, claiming they wanted to take photos due to the home's beauty. This situation was swiftly handled by a guest and the house staff, but it did highlight potential security issues that need addressing.In conclusion, while the property is indeed lovely, the management practices and security concerns significantly impacted our overall experience. Future guests should be aware of these issues. We believe that with improvements in these areas, the property has great potential to offer a wonderful stay.

Mucha amabilidad por parte de ellos, siempre súper atentos y serviciales. Y la casa increíble, nos divertimos mucho en ella!!

Bachelorettes Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were a big group of 16. The house location is very good not too far away from Punta Zicatela. We hired the service of a cook fro the 3 days, and the quantity of the food was not enough, and whenever we asked her for more food she was not really kind. Apart from that and that one room needs a lot of maintainace everything was amazing. The house is great for big groups and the customer service was always nice and friendly solving any issue or concern.

Still dreaming about our beautiful stay at Villa Serenidad!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I chose Villa Serenidad to celebrate my 50th birthday with 15 of my closest girl friends. It was exactly what I had envisioned and more!! The house is beyond gorgeous and the location idyllic. It felt like we were the only ones on the beach because we rarely saw anyone else for days. The service and food were delicious. The rooms really spacious and well kept with all the amenities. Make sure you plan in advance with the staff to have your meals, drinks and snacks all stocked because you really won’t want to leave once you arrive. I’m definitely ready to go back.

Villa Serenidad, was planned as an oasis in the middle of the beach while still offering quick access to Puerto's downtown area, with first class meals and amenities so you won´t have to leave the Villa to have a great time. Third visit to Casa Mears

Reviewer Comments: This was our third visit to Casa Mears and it doesn't disappoint. The house is very well laid out for a large group (we are 4 families). Rooms are spacious and property is kept very clean. Amelia and team are absolutely incredible - I can't say enough good things! They are wonderful with our kids, very accommodating to such a big group and the food is always great. This year we arrived on the full the surf was a little stronger than normal...but we managed to get some good open time in near the end of our week. We just got back and already looking forward to 2023!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: La casa es muy bonita, se encuentra en buena ubicacion, y tiene acceso a la playa. La casa es comoda, con buena distribucion y excelente area para estar an la picina. Sin embargo le falta algo de mantenimiento. Los banos sucios, los sanitarios no bajan, las sobre camas rotas, etc... Al llegar a la casa nos recibio la encargada Yessi junto con las dos senoras que nos atenderian durante las 4 noches.La encargada Yessi ya nunca regreso ni tuvo comunicacion con nosotros y la senoras dos dieron un pesimo servicio y mal trato. La tercera noche se fue la luz y agua por toda la noche y nunca nos pudieron dar razon ni apoyo en resolver el problema. Se termino el agua potable, hielo, comida y no teniamos acceso a transporte y la encargada no nos consiguio. En resumen la casa muy bien pero el servicio pesimo. Por este motivo no recomendaria la casa.

Estimado Luis, Nos alegra saber que la Villa le haya parecido atractiva con una excelente distribución y ubicación! Estamos consientes que desafortunadamente se fue la luz una noche, en todo momento se le mantuvo al tanto e informó que era una falla general de CFE, no fue solo la casa, sino en toda la zona en general, esto no había pasado anteriormente, lamentamos que haya sido durante su estancia. Desde antes de su llegada usted recibió los teléfonos de contacto, nos hubiera gustado que nos avisara de su inconformidad cuando estaba en la Villa para resolverlo de inmediato. Respecto a la comida, se le informó que ya no había dinero para comprar a lo que comentaron que ya no querían mas. El servicio de transporte nunca ha sido un problema, los taxis llegan hasta la Villa cuando se les llama y el personal estuvo en contacto con ustedes para ayudarles cuando lo requirieran. Esperamos que haya disfrutado de la maravillosa Villa y tengamos la oportunidad de hospedarlos nuevamente! Saludos, Gaby y Equipo de MHV!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Casa Mears, is the most beautiful house I have ever stayed in. It is incredibly stylish, spacious but also comfortable. The staff are amazing and the whole space is kept in perfect condition. Clean and so well taken care of. The beach is a stones throw from the house. The pool is beautiful and the perfect temperature and size. I can’t say enough amazing things about casa Mears. I have been lucky enough to of travel a lot in my life and have rented many house and this is truly the best. Puerto Escondido is the best place in the world. It really has everything!!

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is very beautiful and offers a comfortable stay. There are small aesthetic details that need to be addressed like outdoor Jacuzzi, outdoor grill, and minor paint details around the property. One major concern is the water filtration system is not working correctly. The bath water has a very strong pungent smell and this should be addressed immediately. Overall we had an excellent stay. The property manager was very attentive and helped coordinate in house services i.e. Cook, massage, yoga instructor etc. We would definitely stay here again in the future when details are fixed.

Lives up to its pictures

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful villa and wonderful staff. The pictures are exactly what the villa looks like. We weren't able to swim in the ocean due to rip currents, but that is okay. The floors are VERY slippery when wet, so be careful. Wonderful place if you are looking for seclusion (there are no markets/bars, etc within walking distance).

Unforgettable Experience

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our experience was just perfect! We spent two weeks in this beautiful house by the beach. The house is really big and comfortable, and the staff is super helpful. We were staying there for a corporate retreat, so we got the space and time to work but also have small breaks to take walks on the beach, swim in the ocean or just hang around the house. I'd definitely recommended to a friend, and would certainly like to stay there again in the future!
