Casa independiente, en el tranquilo pueblo de Mortagne Sur Gironde con piscina privada climatizada, incluida la alarma de seguridad de la piscina aprobada. Gran jardín totalmente cerrado con una excelente barbacoa incorporada y terraza perfecta para cenar al aire libre con vistas a los campos y viñedos. En Mortagne hay un supermercado, panadería, carnicería, farmacia, banco, bar / tabac e información turística. El puerto está a 10-15 minutos a pie y tiene un número de restaurantes que dan al puerto deportivo. Las playas de Meschers están a sólo 15 minutos. El zoológico más grande de Europa en La Palmyre, el Acuario de La Rochelle y un complejo de piscinas cubiertas en Jonzac y un popular campo de golf a lo largo de la costa, así como otras playas con deportes acuáticos. Excelente zona para caminar y montar en bicicleta con rutas trazadas y la mayoría fuera de la carretera a través de los campos y viñedos.

Wonderful stay at La Sauvagette! We loved staying at this comfortable gîte in the gorgeous village of Mortagne-sur-Gironde. Vikki and Andrew were wonderful hosts, very helpful and friendly. The house had everything we needed, clean and well stocked with everything needed for self catering holiday including charcoal BBQ.The garden was lovely with great views across the vineyards. Pool was clean and warm and enjoyed by us all. Plenty of sun loungers and seats. Garden box had inflatables, brollies and beach towels.Village is fab with lots of restaurants within walking distance, butchers, boulangerie, pizza, mini super market. 15 min walk down to port with lovely restaurants and few bars and a weekly market.We will definitely return!

We had a lovely stay. Everything went very smoothly. Vikki, the host was very helpful both with answering any queries we had, and also recommending activities and restaurants. The cottage was clean and very well equipped. The pool and garden area was spacious and peaceful.

Comfortable, peaceful house on edge of village

Our third visit in 10 years :-) The house is in a peaceful lane, backing onto grape vines, on the edge of the pretty little Gironde estuary village of Mortagne sur Gironde. Huge garden, not overlooked. Great pool, Fantastic (new) big charcoal bbq, outdoor seating. UK FreeSat TV. WiFi is quite weak as it’s a very rural area, so wouldn’t recommend if you want to do any work on a PC during your visit. Bakery, butchers, great little supermarket and several restaurants in village, all within walking distance (or a short drive) from the house. The owner, Vikki is fantastic; always very prompt communication and so friendly and helpful. It adds to the positive experience of the stay.

Great 2 weeks

From the minute we arrived with the lovely welcome pack, we had a great 2 weeks holiday. The house was perfect in terms of size, location and equipped with everything you could possibly need for a great stay. We got great tips from Sue on events and music in the area. We ate out in the local pizza restaurant and in the restaurants in the port. We loved the huge garden and the pool. We'd love to come back again!

Beautiful location

Great location and lovely property. Very spacious inside and very large garden-kids loved playing ball games and the little tea set went down a treat with our little boy. Seating area was a bit warm as no shade and sometimes too windy for the parasol- would benefit from an awning. Fantastic facilities including good range of cooking equipment. The bakery down the road was a must visit for fresh bread and treats. Villa only 20 mins from the beach and 40 mins to Royan. Victoria was amazing at answering any questions as and when needed. Family from West Yorkshire -UK

Fantastic Holiday

We had a fabulous week at the property. 6 of us there, plenty of room in the house and a superb garden. Pool was perfect for the weather, with a large garden overlooking vineyards. Plenty of outside space for sitting and dining. The house was immaculate, everything provided that we needed for the week. All communication with the owner was great. The house is on the outskirts of a lovely village, we walked into the village every morning to get pastries for breakfast from the bakery. There’s also a small co-op for other essentials. We had a great meal at the port that we could also walk to. It’s in a lovely area with lots to do. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to holiday in the area.

Fantastic relaxing holiday

From booking this villa - to arriving - to leaving, everything was really easy. Vikki was great always ready to answer any questions straight away. The property manager Kim and her husband Phil are brilliant, very informative about place’s to eat and where to visit. Anything you needed they sorted it out. The villa, garden and pool are beautiful. The Most relaxing, tranquil place we have ever been to. The only noise was bird songs which is lovely. We would highly recommend this villa

Superbe location

Très belle location. Service au top. Très bien aménagée. Rien ne manquait. Bbq super. Piscine avec entretien à notre demande. La personne chargée de l entretien est adorable et de bon conseil pour les visites de la région. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Je vous recommande cette magnifique maison.

We had a great holiday, enjoyed the villa and the location a lot. The swimming pool was clean and the water nicely warm. Victoria was very helpful and the communication went very smooth and fast! Thanks for all.

Belle découverte

Très beau séjour passé au sein de cette location. Nous avons apprécié notamment l'espace et le calme de la propriété qui est aussi bien située pour réaliser diverses visites. La maison est bien équipée et agréable à vivre. Bien que le site indique clairement que la propriétaire parle anglais, nous aurions espéré que les documents sur place soient traduits en français. Sur le plan matériel, le lit à deux places est confortable, les dimensions reprises sur l'annonce sont correctes mais il n'est pas adapté à des personnes de plus d'1,80 m. Au-delà de cet aspect pratique, nous avons passé une excellent séjour là-bas et nous espérons pouvoir y revenir un jour! Merci à la propriétaire pour sa réactivité dans ses réponses et son souci continu du bien-être des locataires !

Relaxing holiday in an ideal location

The property is spacious, well appointed with a large garden overlooking a vineyard. There is a good pool which is well maintained. There are plenty of interesting places to visit and Mortagne itself is unspoilt with a good Bakery within walking distance. Well worth visiting the restaurants in the Port.

Wir haben es sehr genossen...

Wir (2 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder, 6 und 9 Jahre) hatten in dem gemütlichen und sehr gut ausgestatteten Haus mit einem großzügigen Küchen-/ Ess- und Wohnbereich, einem tollen Pool und einem wirklich großen Garten - auch dank der sehr guten Betreuung - eine sehr schöne und entspannte Zeit. Der gemütlich Ort verfügt über gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten (Bäcker, Metzger, Supermarkt) in Laufnähe. Diverse Ausflusziele (Saintes, Royan, Medoc usw.) und Strände sind gut mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt...

Vraiment reposant

Charmante maison dans un très joli village. Boulangeries; boucherie superette sont toutes proches. La maison est joliment décorée. Elle ne manque de rien. Très fraîche malgré la chaleur. Piscine très agréable et beau terrain avec arbres fruitiers. Nous avons passé un agréable séjour. Contact avec la propriétaire très amical. Merci à Kimberly et son époux sans oublier le jardinier. celui ci nous a renseigné un petit restaurant .. Feufeu. N'hésitez pas à y aller car nous avons très bien mangé. N'hésitez pas à réserver cette maison si vous souhaitez passer de merveilleuses vacances. Pour infos : La grille du barbecue doit être changée et les poêles et marmites ne sont pas adaptées à la taque à induction. Bon séjour à tous .

Return to Charente Maritime

Comfortable and well equipped property with large garden and open views. The garden is private with good size pool and is not overlooked. It is an easy 5 minute walk to a village with all amenities . The surrounding countryside is pretty and varied and excellent for cycling on quiet roads and trails. Good beaches within half an hours drive - perfect relaxation for all the family.

Cherry time in Mortagne

A lovely, well cared for and comfortable Gite in a quiet location, just right for ‘getting away from it all.’ We enjoy being in France and the location offered all we were looking for, the chance to cater for ourselves using the local shops but also some good places nearby to enjoy the local seafood; not to mention the succulent cherries, courtesy of the neighbours cheery tree. Not to mention the local wines! A lovely gite in a lovely setting.

Perfect Villa

Had a great 2 weeks holiday. The villa was spotless with brilliant facilities, the pool was great and the garden is huge! Located in a lovely area, walking distance to shops and restaurants and just a short drive to some lovely beaches and towns. Would highly recommend this place and the photos definitely don’t do it justice!

Tolles Haus super Anwesen

Danke für den schönen Aufenthalt ,alles war prima mit einer sehr guten Ausstattung. Toller Pool und Riesen Garten, ruhige Lage, mit nettem Metzger im Ort. Am Hafen kann man schön ein Kaffee trinken und die Antiquitäten der letzten Jahrhunderte bewundern. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und uns gut erholt. Einen lieben Gruss an die Vermieter. My husband is a retired London firefighter and I work as an Office Manager in an infant school. We are still as busy as we every were but both enjoy relaxing together when we can. We have been married for over 34 years and have four children and now a wonderful Grandson who we visit as often as we can. He lives in Devon so we have a very long journey each time. I have lived in Leigh on Sea, Essex since I was 7 having been living in Northants previously. My husband and I bought our first house together in Leigh on Sea and love living here. It is a very vibrant town with lots to do.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We bought a plot of land originially and had the house built as when we started looking at properties to purchase we were advised by a local estate agent this would be a better option. She turned out to be correct. Having a new build we did not have to worry about renovating an older property without the time to do it. The village of Mortagne was perfect for us. Whilst remaining quiet in our part of the village within a short walk to the Port you can enjoy the bustling marina and its restaurants etc.

We had enjoyed many a holiday in this part of France when our children were small and thought wouldnt it be lovely to be able to come back all the time. We were fortunate to find a very lovely architect company and estate agent who helped with the search of the land and support with the build of the property. They both spoke very good English and this was an immense help during the process.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

We loved this house mainly because of the views over the vineyards and the peace and quiet we get when we come over to stay. It is our very own French Country Cottage.
What we really liked it the fact we have a beautiful cottage in a wonderful village that has all the modern conveniences of a new home. It has been very easy to maintain which is very important when renting out to holiday makers. We want our guests to experience a home from home time without any worries. We think our guests feel the same and we continue to receive very good reviews.
When we visit after the summer season has finished I am always amazed how you wouldn't know I have had a busy season with lots of guests. Everything seems to be very well looked after by our guests. I do have a very good property manager who looks after my changeovers and guests which does make a big difference.
If you are thinking of booking with us you wont be disappointed.
