We are Tristan and Lisa, we’ve always loved the mountains! After lots of ski trips, we finally found and bought our dream chalet in 2007. The Pyrenees captured our hearts with it's breathtaking landscapes, incredible outdoor adventures, and the warm, traditional feel.

We live in Devon, England, where Tristan works as a builder and firefighter, and Lisa is an Accountant, balancing work with being a mum to our three sporty children and our crazy dog, Ted. Our lives are busy, but we like to escape to the mountains as often as possible. The chalet has become our retreat—a place to relax, have fun, and share unforgettable experiences with family and friends.

Over the years, we’ve put a lot of love into making the chalet feel like home. After plenty of working holidays spent sanding, painting, and fixing, we now focus on enjoying it. We want our guests to feel as comfortable here as we do, which is why we’ve designed the space to be warm, welcoming, and practical—whether you're visiting for a winter ski trip, a summer hiking adventure, or just to switch off and soak up the scenery.

One of the things we love most about this area is how it changes with the seasons. In winter, the nearby La Mongie ski resort is a snowy paradise, offering incredible slopes, ski schools, and breathtaking views from the Pic du Midi. In summer, the lush valleys and mountain trails are perfect for hiking, cycling, and exploring. The famous Col du Tourmalet is just up the road, making it a dream destination for cyclists. And of course, the nearby villages and thermal spas add to the charm, offering great food, relaxation, and a taste of authentic mountain life.

Some of our favourite moments at the chalet include stargazing on clear nights (with no light pollution, the sky is breathtaking), dining on the terrace with a glass of wine, unwinding at the spa, and skiing long, sweeping runs with the Pic du Midi in view.

From the moment we first set eyes on Gripp, we knew it was something special. Nestled in the heart of the Pyrenees, this peaceful village is surrounded by majestic mountains, lush forests, and crystal-clear streams that change beautifully with the seasons. It offers a perfect balance—secluded enough to feel like an escape, yet close enough to some of the region’s most incredible attractions.

One of the things we love most is how the landscape transforms throughout the year. In winter, the nearby La Mongie ski resort comes alive with skiers and snowboarders carving through the slopes. The famous Col du Tourmalet, a legendary Tour de France climb, sits just up the road, making it a paradise for cyclists in the warmer months. Hikers and nature lovers will find endless trails leading to breathtaking vistas, including the Pic du Midi de Bigorre and the serene Lac de Payolle. The surrounding valleys are filled with hidden waterfalls, rolling meadows, and picturesque hamlets waiting to be explored.

But beyond the adventure, there’s something deeply relaxing about this place. The air is crisp and fresh, the skies are breathtakingly clear at night, and the charm of small French mountain towns—like nearby Sainte-Marie-de-Campan and Bagnères-de-Bigorre—is hard to resist. Whether it's a cozy café stop, a traditional French market, or unwinding in the thermal spa baths, there’s always something delightful to experience.

This area gives us the best of both worlds—excitement and tranquility, adventure and comfort. And that’s exactly why we chose it as our home away from home. We wanted a place where we could truly slow down, reconnect with nature, and share unforgettable moments with family and friends. Whether it's enjoying a scenic drive through the mountains, or simply sitting by the fire after a long day outdoors, every visit reminds us why we fell in love with this place. It’s a destination that keeps drawing us back, and we’re thrilled to share its magic with our guests.

From the moment you step inside, you’ll feel its warmth and character. The log-burning fireplace, soft lighting, and cozy furnishings make it an inviting retreat. Unlike many ski chalets, ours isn’t just for sleeping—it’s a place to relax, connect, and create memories.

Whether unwinding by the fire, having a foosball tournament, playing board games with a glass of wine, or enjoying a movie night, there’s something for everyone. Families and friends love the fully open kitchen, complete with a raclette grill and fondue set—because what’s a mountain trip without an alpine feast?

Our favourite moments here are the simplest. Warm days are perfect for reading in the garden, listening to nature, and dining outdoors. Evenings are magical, with a sky full of stars—ideal for a peaceful village stroll or a cozy game night by the fire, complete with hot chocolate and laughter-filled rounds of your favourite board games.

In winter, the chalet is the ultimate base for adventure. Days start with a big family breakfast before heading to the slopes. The kids love ski school with Muriel, our go-to English-speaking ESF instructor, or Vincent, while adults enjoy the quiet pistes.

Lunch at La Schuss is a highlight, followed by family skiing or a detour to Laquette for long, tree-lined runs (and an afternoon beer!). The fun doesn’t stop when the pistes close—whether it’s drinks in the village, husky sledding, night skiing, or a relaxing spa evening at Aquensis, where you can soak in the rooftop jacuzzis and unwind under the stars.
