Maggie, We are sorry that you did not have a good experience with your stay at our cottage in mid July. We wish you would have reached out to us immediately upon your arrival by calling, or emailing and we would have gladly refunded your stay 100%. We have rented our cottage 8 years, on average 30 bookings per season with multiple repeated guests. As you can see on our review page we have never received a low review. Our average is 4.9 stars. I have to agree our notes may seem excessive but we have had issues in the past and that is why they are there. There is only 1 plug in air freshener in the cottage so we're not sure why you said they were in all ( 4) rooms. As far as the bedding / comforter sign it was simple-- please don't use as a blanket or sheet as they are costly to dry clean. We want our cottage to be cozy and clean for all our guests and provide extra blankets rather than the comforter. Your comment on old " rugs" I think you are referring to the old rags under the sink. The note states please use old rags under the sink if you need towels to work on your boat, fish cleaning, ect. As we have had people use our sink/bath towels before. The note is to let folks know they are provided and where they are located. Once again, had you contacted us immediately and not left a terrible review 2 months later we would have either tried to resolve your concerns or refunded you 100%. Michael and Neveda McClallen
