A great place to relax, socialise and and enjoy the beautiful countryside. The kitchen dinning area is an amazing communal area where you can cook whilst remaining amidst the party. The bed room was comfy with the lovely French shutters you can throw open in the morning to drink in the beautiful views and mountain air. The cosy lounge has a wood burner and enough space to spread out after over indulging all things French. There are so many activities for adrenaline junkies, with winter sports, mountain biking, hiking, climbing etc and there is so much more, especially if like me you are not an adrenaline junkie. There are many historic towns & villages in easy reach with markets, cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy eating and drinking to your hearts content. We had an amazing meal at El Taller Restaurant nearby where we enjoyed excellent value, friendly service and the best of contemporary French cooking. Also a short drive away is the St Thomas Les Bains natural hot spring baths, float in the beautiful outdoor pool whilst taking in the breath taking mountain scenery. (they are proper hot) Also due to some strange French rule blokes have to wear budgie smugglers. The coast is in easy reach for a lovely day trip (we explored Collioure, a picturesque town with a castle where Matisse did some great paintings. For a holiday with so much to do on your door step but beautiful enough to stay and enjoy all the home comforts, this is a great place to base your holiday in unspoilt France.
