Ubicada en el tranquilo pueblo de Sixt Fer a Cheval al final del encantador Valle de Giffre, esta área de Francia ofrece una multitud de actividades de verano (caminar, andar en bicicleta, escalar montañas, vía ferrata, rafting) así como el barrido completo de las actividades de deportes de invierno siendo uno de los cinco pueblos vinculados del área de esquí Grand Massif. También hay numerosas oportunidades para observar la vida silvestre local de la reserva natural, incluida una pareja reproductora de buitres barbudos. El alojamiento comprende los dos pisos superiores del antiguo pueblo 'Epicerie', recientemente reformado a un nivel muy alto por artesanos locales.

Fantastic house Everything you would need Warm and cosy and very clean Full kitchen with all appliances Beautiful location Fantastic walking from house And family ski on doorstep Village of Sixt just a short drive /walk Lovely bar and restaurants in village Restaurant 5 mins walk from house also fab A view from every window in the house Friendly neighbours stopping for a chat Our 4th visit so highly recommend Our dog loves this place he is now very tired No doubt we will return sometime

Superbe chalet

Un accueil exceptionnel: vin pétillant , bière, pain et les placards pleins du minimum. Des tas de conseils pour les commerces, les poubelles, et les horaires de navettes entre autres.Rien ne manque! Les lits faits, une literie très confortables , linge fourni,le tout à 200 m des pistes pour débutants. Une communication parfaite ! Dès hites prévenants et discrets. Probablement une des meilleurs location depuis longtemps. Nous y retournerons avec plaisir.

tolles Haus in schöner Umgebung

Wir haben über Weihnachten eine entspannte Woche in diesem gut ausgestatteten Haus verbracht. Viele Wanderungen lassen sich von dort aus starten. Die Kommunikation mit den Vermietern verlief sehr gut. Gerne würden wir noch einmal wiederkommen. Vielen Dank

Séjour à la montagne dans une petite station familiale

le gîte est très confortable et spacieux. les aménagements sont adaptés. La literie est de bonne qualité. Il se trouve en proximité de la station de ski familiale, particulièrement adaptée pour des skieurs débutants ou pour ceux qui ne veulent pas se retrouver dans la foule. Il est possible de rejoindre le domaine de Samoens très facilement. Il y a de nombreuses pistes de ski de fond, raquettes ou promenade. Un séjour reposant, dépaysant et particulièrement bien venu après la période covid anxiogène. Les propriétaires ont pensé à tout pour nous rendre le séjour le plus agréable et facile possible.

A great house just up the hill from sixt fe a chevel Very clean and everything you would need for a great stay Brilliant log burner that kept the house so warm All mod cons English tv Small family ski resort walkable from house Samoan’s ski 10 mins car ride plenty of ski buses in area Lovely great walks from house or by car Village has a couple of bar/restaurants all are very nice with great food In fact the house , area etc so great it’s our 3 rd time here Managed to escape the uk before closure !! All I can say is business as usual up here in the mountains Dog friendly house /area which is great to keep the 4 legged entertained all day Thankyou Ian and Vicky I am sure will be back in the future Kim and David and Boris

Chalet accueillant et bien équipé pour notre famille de 4 personnes

Ce chalet est très bien situé à Sixt, près des pistes de ski (pour débutants) et des chemins de randonnée. Il y a tout ce qu'il faut pour une semaine de vacances, un poêle à bois pour les soirées, une salle de bain spacieuse pour se détendre... Et les propriétaires sont très accueillants :-)

Beau logement très confortable

Ce logement refait à neuf avec goût est à la fois très fonctionnel et chaleureux. L'emplacement au pied des pistes, avec vue sur les cascades, parmi des chalets qui ne sont pas en grande majorité touristiques donne aux vacances une ambiance très familiale, très authentique. Tout y est facile : le stationnement, le stockage des affaires de ski, l'arrivée, le départ... et le paysage autour est très beau. Merci aux propriétaires !

Windows with a view

Our 2 nd visit to this property owned by Ian and vicki The house is very clean , with all mod cons and everything works Great hot water pressure brilliant log burner and a great big bath with a view over the mountains !!! Very cosy property Easy access to ski /walking areas /village /town Great if travelling with your dog loads of walking areas and spaces our dog is exhausted It's a real home from home with great views from all the windows of mountains , waterfalls, and open ski/grass slopes This ski area is for children and beginners it's right on the doorstep The ski bus or your car for advanced is samones 15 minutes away Easy drive Natural parks are very easily accessed from house one within walking distance the other by car 10 mins We will for sure be back in the future

Très agréable appartement, très ensoleillé, très propres aux pieds des pistes de ski vraiment idéale avec des enfants. Toute fois il manque un peu de rangement et de matériel de cuisine, un service à raclette serait le bien venu. Par sécurité avec des petits, il serait bien de fermer la partie gauche de l escalier mais ceci dit nous reviendrons avec plaisir.

Very clean, extremely spacious and incredibly well equipped, finished and fitted out.

Vicky and Ian are very good hosts. They were there when we arrived and thoughtfully had stocked the fridge with some fresh milk, cold beers and a bottle of sparkling wine plus left in the kitchen some semi-cooked baguettes so we could bake them if we wished. The chalet is very spacious, over 2 floors, extremely clean and we wanted for nothing other than a coffee percolator (there is a pod machine). There is everything anyone would need for a weeks stay plus more. The wood stove was lovely and we lit it a couple of times (Ian had made it up for lighting). The beds are comfortable, the bedding is nice, AND the sofa is comfortable which is a rarity in a ski chalet. The kitchen is well fitted with a full size fridge freezer ,microwave, dishwasher, full size fan oven (which is helpful as I always bring frozen home cooked meals rather than cook on holiday). The main bathroom is huge with bath and separate shower and plenty of hot water. There is another w.c upstairs by the bedrooms. Sixt is very small and better suited to inexperienced skiers but once in Samoens (by car or ski bus) you can link into the Grand Massif ski area and get into Flaine very quickly. For people just starting out with skiing or with young children starting to ski, Sixt is ideal as the chalet is a very short walk to to drag lifts and lessons meeting area. Unfortunately the chairlift to the red and black runs was closed this year due to plans for a new lift to the top of Samoens to be put in so we never skied in Sixt as the available runs were not suitable for us but we thought what a good area it would have been when our children were younger. The only warning I would say for people staying with younger children at the chalet is that the stairs are open on one side and I think a balustrade should be put in that side as there is on the other side of the staircase but there are fittings for stairgates. It was a real bonus to have a washing machine in a separate utility room so we were able to put a load of ski stuff through midweek and take it home clean. And for those with younger children it would be a bonus to be able to take less clothes and wash midweek. The only thing which marred what was otherwise a lovely week was something outside of Ian and Vicky's control which was that was a local family who live behind the chalet keep their lovely dog in appalling conditions in a pen near the chalet which was quite upsetting and which I have reported to the French RSPCA equivalent.

Nous avons passé d’excellentes vacances l’appartement est très chaleureux et extrêmement bien placé à peine 50 mètres des pistes merci à Vicky et son mari de nous avoir laissé les éléments de base pour cuisiner .... il manque juste un porte manteau !!! Wonderful appt with lovely views

The appt just outside the village but within walking distance of family ski runs and also a dog friendly bar Lovely walking areas very close by Something for everyone The appt is well stocked with all the mod cons Freeview tv fast internet Kitchen well equipped full size cooker fridge Etc Heating which was very efficient and a great log burner which made the home really toasty and warm Big bathroom separate shower and a big bath plenty of hot water and great water pressure Comfy beds and plenty of space upstairs also toilet and washing machine On arrival the appt very clean and Vicky had advised us before of key collection etc We were very lucky with the snow even having to be dug out by the neighbours tractor one day The area is very nice a little ski resort on the doorstep but samoans only 15 mins in car Walking areas just fantastic and there are lots of them Don’t hesitate book in you won’t be disappointed Sorry to leave wound love to visit in the summer imagine it to be very pretty

Lovely family apartment

A stunning chalet in a beautiful location .We stayed here last year and Vicki was so helpful .It was perfect for our family of three children .We loved the touches Vicki did to make us feel welcome .Skiing the cascade run home was a dream .We can't wait to return next week .
