Construido por la Junta Distrital Congestionada en 1903, esta hermosa casa de campo acaba de ser completamente renovada y tiene una calificación de 4 * con la Autoridad de Turismo de Irlanda. Situado en el pequeño pueblo de Bracklagh, ha sido terminado con un estándar muy alto con un nuevo baño y cocina, baño privado, estufa de leña / turba, sky + HD, estación de conexión para iPod, radio digital Roberts, ropa de The White Empresa, batas de baño y calefacción por suelo radiante a través de una bomba de calor de agua subterránea. Un granero restaurado es ideal para estacionar, mientras que un segundo granero con cerradura es ideal para guardar bicicletas, tablas de surf y similares. Bracklagh es muy tranquilo y un paraíso para la vida silvestre, especialmente las liebres.

Great host who made us very welcome. Great location if you just need to get away from things and enjoy peace and quiet but easy access to local towns and roads. The property has two beautiful ponies who are very friendly and four cats who love sitting on your lap. The house has everything you need for a great holiday, the beds are very comfortable too.

Our family of 5 loved staying at Sean and Suzi's cottage! They were warm and welcoming hosts and their place had everything that we needed for a very enjoyable stay. The ponies and cats provided memorable moments for our kids especially. We appreciated the personal recommendations for things to do in the area and hope to come back to be able to enjoy the area more.

A magical stay near Bracklagh — perfect for familiese had an excellent stay at Tigh Mhic in Bracklagh with our two boys, and it’s easy to see why this spot is so special. The quaint country road leading to the cottage set the tone right away, and we were delighted to find Shetland ponies and surrounding farms just outside — a real treat for our kids. A local cat took a liking to us during our stay, and it became one of those small, unexpected moments the boys still talk about.One of our favorite surprises was the hidden bar in the cottage — such a unique and special touch that made the stay feel even more memorable.The location was ideal for us, as it’s close to family in Cloonfad, making it easy to combine a relaxing cottage stay with visits nearby. The host was incredibly kind and went out of their way to help us find the house, which we really appreciated.We’d happily stay at Tigh Mhic again and recommend it to any family looking for a peaceful, scenic base in this part of Ireland.

LOVED this place. If/when I return to Ireland, I will definitely look to stay over again! Sean was there upon arriving and gave a quick tour. It's a beautiful home surrounded by gorgeous countryside. The kitties were a lovely surprise and kept us good company. Two thumbs up and highly recommend!

Pros: Gracious and communicative host. Easy check in and out process. Lovely home on lovely property. convenient location to local town (10min) Cons, did not have residential sized fridge. Bedding lacked a top sheet for any of the beds.

Thanks for taking the time to review our cottage. Great to read that you found Tigh Mhic a handy and lovely base. 2 of the 3 bedrooms were fully made up including bottom sheets as we thought you just wanted the two rooms (we did email to ask how many bedrooms you needed) and we would have been very happy to come over and make up the third bedroom if asked. The fridge is the usual under counter model but definitely not a full size American style one.

Second stay here. Cosy, comfortable and clean with everything provided that you would need for a short stay. In a rural location, but this simply adds to its charm. Would definitely stay again.

Such a beautiful cosy home with heated floors and a fire! The surroundings were beautiful, not to mention the friendliest cats ever and two gorgeous ponies. Seán (the host) was so lovely and speaks beautiful Irish too. Would absolutely recommend to anyone from a few friends to a full family trip. Will be definitely be staying here again! Go raibh míle maith agaibh.

We moved back to Mayo in 2000 after 10 years of renovating Seán's family home - it took so long because of time and budget constraints. and we were joined in December by our daughter, Muirgheal. The family has now grown to include a donkey, 2 alpacas, 4 dogs, 2 miniature shetland ponies, 4 cats, 3 terrapins and 2 fish. The renovations bug took hold again in 2003 and we bought the dilapidated cottage which is now Tigh Mhic. We love the peace and quiet and empty spaces of Mayo and though others would too so planned the work with the idea of providing a home from home holiday cottage. What we didn't realise was how much we would enjoy sharing our love of east Mayo. Tigh Mhic is less than 3 miles from home which makes it easy to be on hand to help our visitors and maintain the cottage to the highest standards.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Mick's Place is a fully restored cottage. It is in such a peaceful setting we have taken ourselves off there for our own holidays! If you are out at the front and a vehicle goes past you look up and is not a common sight. You are definitely out in the country with the possibility of spotting hares, hawks, herons, foxes and swallows but only under 10 minutes from the small hub of Claremorris which offers shops, supermarkets, pubs, leisure facilities (including golf club and swimming pool), coffee shops and restaurants.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Our joys are gentle walks, occasional cycle rides, sitting with a good book and a glass of wine and spotting nature. These interests are definitely well served at Mick's Place. We also love the fact that Tig Mhic is well placed for day trips to Westport, Achill, Galway, Sligo, Carrick on Shannon and Roscommon..to name but a few of the beautiful places to visit in the west of Ireland
