Situado en el centro histórico de la ciudad de Vasto, en la costa adriática, esta 70 mc apartamentos de planta abierta es en la planta baja de una casa de la ciudad medieval, con techos abovedados y de ladrillo antiguo. Situado en una calle tranquila, a sólo 2 min a pie de restaurantes, cafés, boutiques, iglesias, museos y galerías de arte. La playa más cercana 15 min a pie por las escaleras o 5 min en coche/autobús. Hay cerca de aparcamiento por el apartamento. Los eventos culturales se celebran durante todo el año, con la fiesta de comida y vino, conciertos de rock, jazz y clásica, fuegos artificiales y desfiles locales (todo gratis) Hay las termas romanas con mosaicos, un castillo medieval con un bar de vinos y un restaurante, parque, galerías de arte, museo y un palacio. Hay un pista de atletismo, club de tenis, piscina cubierta y gimnasio. Estamos a sólo 15 min en coche el parque acuático Aqualand, también a la reserva de bosque de la naturaleza y Punta Penna reserva natural junto

Vasto Excellent

Properly was located very centrally. While small it met all our needs. Judy and James met us in the plaza and were very gracious hosts. Some many great restaurants and shops. Excellent people watching. Would definitely recommend this apartment to others.

Great end to our Italian vacation!

We loved this little house and its location. Our family of 4 stayed for a week and it was a perfect respite after having flitted all about the west side of Italy for 2 weeks. Far from the madding crowds, yet close to all that you could want. We used it mainly for sleeping and eating and chose to spend our days at the beaches. James and Judy were very helpful: welcoming us, getting us acquainted with the area and their house, answering any questions we had, and seeing us off. We are so glad we decided to try a bit of the real Italy and hope to return again one day.

Lovely lodging in the best location

The home's location is just an unbelievable few-step walk to the magnificent view of the Adriatic Sea. Based in the historic city center, Vasto's piazza, shops, and restaurants are just around the corner to enjoy. The immaculately clean casa has a lovely bedroom, bathroom, and living room with plenty of storage. The kitchenette is well-stocked and practical, albeit snug. The most striking aspect of our stay in Vasto was our incredibly kind and attentive hosts, Judy and James. They made our stay magical and unforgettable. Their knowledge of the Vasto and surrounding areas was unmatched. Everything from where to park to the best sites, restaurants, and beach areas was spot-on. We highly recommend staying at James and Judy's home. Our stay exceeded all expectations.

Perfetto!

My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful trip to Vasto. This rental was in a great location - set just a little back from from the main streets, it was close enough to be part of everything but still be private and quiet once we tucked in for the night. It was literally just steps away from the best view in town. James and Judy were wonderful hosts and provided so many good recommendations of restaurants and things to do. They clearly love this town and are excited to share it with you. We only speak a little Italian, but everyone we interacted with in Vasto (and the rest of Abruzzo) was very warm and welcoming, and we were able to get along great. Really, this is a lovely home in a lovely place - we will certainly be back!

our stay in vasto

We really enjoyed our stay in this delightful little house in the lovely town of Vasto. It is ideally situated in a quiet piazza right in the historic part of the town, minutes walk away from the bars, restaurant sand shops. Everything is close at hand. The house itself is very comfortable, well furnished and equipped with everything you could need. It was also spotlessly clean. It’s a fairly easy walk down to the beach, but walking back up requires a bit more effort, especially when it’s very hot (as it often is) as it is quite steep. However, there is a bus service which is both frequent and very cheap. We were met on arrival by the owners Judy & James who were extremely helpful and gave us a lot of useful information on what to see and where to go, especially the best places to eat. We shall certainly be returning.

Thank you for writing this great review. I am glad you enjoyed your stay here in Vasto at our Casa. The bus service to the beach goes every 20 minutes and the bus stop is only a few minutes walk from the Casa. It only takes 5 minutes by bus and cost €1. We walk to the beach in about 15 minutes, but I find walking back up does take more effort as it is all up hill and up steps, so I find it best to fortify myself with a gelato before attempting to walk back! Or you can just catch the returning bus up the hill. I am glad you will be returning, just let me know when and I shall chill the Trebbiano wine ready for you! Hope to see you again soon! Die Wohnung ist vorbildlich mit allem ausgestattet, was man auf Reisen braucht. Judy und James sind herzliche, fürsorgliche Gastgeber, die an alles denken. Wer den Charme des Lebens in der historischen Altstadt ganz unkompliziert mit den Badefreuden an der Adria verbinden will, ist hier richtig. Und das beste Eis Italiens ist nur 2 Minuten entfernt!

Vasto Festival of St. Michael

Great area, it was a bit noisy at night due to the festival activities but would definitely recommend trying out this cute villa in the small piazza. Judy and James are wonderful! Quick to respond if necessary and provide so much information about the area, things to do, events and life in general in Vasto. We will be back!

Centrally located little gem

Good central location, close to shops, bars & restaurants. Situated in a quaint little Piazza with many alleyways which lead to different parts of the old town - but you soon find your way around! The property was very clean, the bedroom was confortable & bathroom very spacious. Judy & James were very helpful and even text us to see if we wanted the air conditioning on when it got very hot - we were glad we accepted their offer. The A/C was very effective and very quiet. We soon got into the Italian routine of having our Siesta between 12.30 and 4pm, we enjoyed breakfast at Bar Roma in the Piazza Rossetti and our Apperol Spritz at Bar Miro in the evenings. Vasto beach is long & sandy & very clean and it is an easy walk from the old town. It's a good idea to get the bus back up the hill! If you're looking for a centrally located but tucked away property in the old town, this is it.

Perfect House in a Perfect Location!!

This house is beautiful and in a perfect location to the old town of Vasto. The house is very well presented, spotlessly clean and everything had been thought of from linen to pots, pans, cooking essentials such as olive oil to dvds and beach toys for the children. We were very impressed with the owners Judy and James for their efficiency and accuracy in everything, they supplied us with a lot of information on Vasto such as local restaurants and places to visit, as well as parking, they were very thorough. They also kept us informed of everything that was going on in town so we didn’t miss out. We absolutely LOVED Vasto. We will definitely come back again. Thank you!

Charming quiet house in the centre of the city

We really enjoyed our first stay in Italy. The house is centrally located, yet it is still very quiet. I cooked at home most nights and used the excellent local produce. There are plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance too. I personally don't like touristy places and had no real desire to be in crowds of tourists spoiling the sights. Vasto is a great compromise. It has beautiful architecture, lots of shops and yet a very good beach is withing walking distance. The walk back is uphill, but there are plenty of cheap buses to take you back. We spoke no Italian, but got by with a couple of basic words. People here are very friendly and willing to help. I even managed to get a new pair of glasses as my main pair broke. (Shouldn't've gone to a well-known opticians!). The optician spoke no English but a professor customer, exemplifying the friendliness, spoke French and Italian and he helped me! Judith and James are extremely knowledgeable about the town they clearly adore. There are plenty of recommendations listed in the casa. I drove all the way from England but we didn't need to use the car in the fortnight we were there. Vasto was too nice to leave. This was an excellent two weeks for us. Thank you Judith and James!

Thank you so much for this great review! We are really happy that you chose to come to our casa here in Vasto for your first taste of 'real' Italy. Vasto is still an Italian secret and is where the Milanese and the Romans come for holiday, it is still relatively unknown outside of Italy, so you will not find many other nationalities holidaying here. As a consequence of this, not much English is spoken here, but as you say it is never a problem as everyone is so friendly, and we provide all our guests with a phrase book to help them out! A car is really not necessary here, everything you could want is right here on your doorstep as you found out...maybe next time you will fly over! Charming place for a short break

This 'casa' is full of charm, both inside and out. Inside, the accommodation is clean and well decorated but with some old features that give it a real home-like feel. Outside, the location is stunning, set amongst the winding back-streets of the medieval town of Vasto. We really enjoyed being able to 'fall out of bed' into sunny cafes and restaurants right on the doorstep. The beach is a short walk (down a hill). Vasto is a beautiful town and this casa lets you soak in the beauty from a great location.

We have worked very hard to refurbish the casa to modern standards whilst retaining it's original character so I am so pleased that you liked it. We bought the house because of it's fantastic location, in the center of historical pedestrain part of the town and all it has to offer, yet in such a peaceful piazza. Vasto is a great town for a short city break, but because we are so close to the beach, it's also great for a fortnights summer beach holiday too. Little gem

spent a couple of days here in the heart of Vasto centro storico (historical centre)and could have stayed longer at this delightful well equipped and tastefully furnished house which is set on a quiet little piazza just a few steps from the bustling bars and restaurants and historic sights and the belvedere promenade with the amazing views over the sandy bay. Ground floor lounge with fireplace and dining area overlooking piazza but my favourite time of day was having a glass of chilled prosecco at the Juliet balcony reading my book before stepping out to the many restaurants on the doorstop at such reasonable prices. Owners welcoming and nearby if required. A hidden gem.

Great house in Fantastic Location

We had a fantastic time exploring the area around Vasto on our bicycles, sunbathing on the beach, swimming in the sea and relaxing with a glass of wine in the local bars. Eating out is cheap and very good, although the house has full cooking amenities, we didn't use them much as there are many restaurants within a few minutes walk of the house. The house was very comfortable in an excellent location in the center of the old town, but in a quiet pedestrian only piazza. We could walk to the beach down the steps and be back in the piazza in time for passigiata. The owners were very helpful and provided loads of information in a brochure in the house, they also answered any questions we promptly.

I am English, and I retired young (under 40) and live in Vasto, Abruzzo with my wife Judy. We bought a holiday apartment in 2006 for a holiday home for ourselves, and loved it so much here that within 3 years we had moved here permanently! We then bought our Casa in Piazza in Vasto for rental. We spend most of our time snorkelling or fishing or at our country house in the garden. In the winter, we drive up to the Maiella mountains, just over an hour away and go skiing. We have settled into life in Italy very well, and have befriended many of the locals, which has in turn given us local knowledge and an insider view of Vasto that most visitors or tourists would not experience. We are now happy to pass on our knowledge to our guests. We supply a brochure in all our casa outlining what to see and do in and around Vasto, including recommended restaurants, information on food and wine, transport, maps, parking and much more. We inform all our guests on arrival of any special events taking place in the town during their stay. Please read our great reviews! We have many happy repeat guests!

In 2006 we were looking for a holiday home in Italy, and stumbled across the fairly unknown Abruzzo. It's beautiful countryside and lively towns drew us to it along with it's huge sandy sweeping beaches. Vasto is one of the very few Medieval towns that sit along the coastline, close enough to walk to the beach. Most are located in the hills a good drive away from the sea. This is what makes Vasto so special. The town has grown into a sophisticated holiday resort for wealthy Romans, many of whom have a second home here for the summer. The town is still relatively unknown elsewhere, and therefore unspoilt by tourism. If you want a 'real' Italian holiday, then come here not only for the beaches, but the beautiful town itself and all it has to offer.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Whilst you might find other properties for rent in Abruzzo, almost all will be located in or near hilltowns a long drive from the coast. In Vasto, we have the best of both worlds, with beautiful scenery, and a town with a sea view and walkable beach. There really is no need for a car here, unlike other hill towns, as everything is right here on your doorstep.

Our Casa in Piazza is on the perfect location within the historical center as it's in a quiet Piazza. but just a minutes walk from the restaurants and the panoramic walkway around the town with views of the Adriatic coastline.
