Mountain hill top stay

The property photos were a bit deceiving as the fire pit area was on a hill, It appeared to be a flat area for kids to run and play. It was rather steep. The porch was great and we enjoyed the closed off steps to keep the kids safe at top. We loved that it was dog friendly to bring our fur family with us. The beds were on the firm side and all of our guests were a tad uncomfortable sleeping. We thought the common docks were a big closer to the property from the photos as well. The kitchen had all the amenities that we needed, thank you! It was a good visit, but was a bit disappointed with the property listing accuracy. I am sure this location would be lovely for a winter visit.

Beautiful Home! Perfect location! Not Clean

Recently stayed this home with 4 women and several kids. It had enough space for everyone which is what we needed. Unfortunately the place lacked in cleanliness. There were cockroaches in the kitchen, bedding was stained, floors were sticky and dirty, there was even a burnt meatball left on the stove. Could not use the porch because it was covered in huge spiders and leaves. Hot tub was lovely but turned green on our last night. I took my complaints to management and at first I was told they were sorry but they were not going to do anything about the cleanliness. Then I wrote an email back stating that I do not appreciate how they blow off their customers and I got a call back. They refunded a little bit of money for our troubles. We paid a lot of money for a 5 night stay with bugs. They did however say that the place was being treated for the bugs. I was happy about that.

House review

The porch could of been cleaner. We had to clean out the fire pit it was full. The steps going down to the lake were not very safe they really need to be updated. All in all we had a good time but I was surprised the cabin was older than we thought it would be.

A Great Experience

It was my family and I first time doing a trip to Deep Creek. Everything was the way they described it. The time that we went it was cold cold. We actually had to leave early because snow was coming. But overall a very relaxing and fun experience. The beds was as they said and the kitchen was wonderful had everything we need. The hot tub was amazing…we enjoyed the night caps when the kids was asleep. Also enjoyed the lake view but it is walk from the house. My dog was a little anxious with all the outdoor wilderness. The Deers walking through the driveway was amazing to see as well. I will definitely be back again. :) oh! only issue was the garbage overflowed and we didn’t know where to take them to drop off.

Good but some issues

The house was nice except for the mattresses on the beds. They mattresses are so old that we had to buy a memory foam topper at Walmart to sleep for the week. Also the Wifi is pretty much no existent. My husband had to work for a few days and had to plug in directly to the modem to get internet access. Also the smart TV will not even work with the Wifi because the signal is not strong enough. Also the dock is not just across the road. It is far down the road and then you have to go down very steep and not very good steps to get to the dock. The house was clean and nice it just had those few issues.

Loved our time at the big blue cabin!

My husband and I had a great time at Mountain Joy! Coming from a cramped apartment in the city we really wanted a lot of room to spread out and enjoy ourselves and we truly found that. The place is huge! The house is stocked with everything you could need for your stay. The pool table and bar area was a huge hit and our favorite part was the covered hot tub. Even in the rainy crummy weather we were able to enjoy it. The house is well located and despite having neighbors feels secluded. It is across the street from the lake so if you want to be directly on the water you will not be at mountain joy. That was not important to us and we found the house to be perfect for what we needed. The description was kind of confusing regarding AC so the company should clarify that there is AC at the house. Would stay at Mountain Joy or another of the company’s properties again in a heartbeat!

Great place but access to lake is greatly over stated

Love the place. Lots of room, pool table, spa, and fire pit were wonderful. Only issue is it’s advertised as having access to a dock and it does, kind of. The walk down is extremely long and steep. Everything else was great. Going back next year.

Wonderful stay in this beautiful home!

We rented this house for a week in the early summer. We had a terrific time during our stay. Great location, right across the street from the lake and close to many attractions. We had a couple very minor issues but the realty company was very responsive and sent someone out immediately to fix any problems we encountered. We got lots of use from the hot tub and fire pit especially. All in all, a beautiful home in a great location. Would definitely recommend!
