Salut David Merci beaucoup d’avoir pris le temps d’écrire un commentaire. Je voulais répondre sur quelques points, si vous me le permettez ? Je ne comprends pas pourquoi le code de la porte ne semblait pas fonctionner à l’arrivée. Il a été changé en mars, mais je crois que vous avez eu le dernier. Bien sûr, on vous a donné une télécommande pour la porte une fois arrivé. C’est dans des occasions comme celle-ci que nous exhortons les clients à contacter Rosa Maria, notre gérante d’appartement pour obtenir de l’aide, mais elle n’en savait rien. Il y a un barbecue. Il se trouve sur le côté gauche du jardin et est gratuit pour les clients. Si vous aviez demandé à Rosa, elle vous aurait aidé. À travers la majeure partie de l’Andalousie, il y a une route côtière, et pour la plupart des propriétés, vous devez traverser cette route, par le pont, pour vous rendre à la plage et à la mer. Comme vous le dites, c’est à 5 ou 6 minutes à pied, ou 1 minute en voiture. Merci encore pour votre séjour, et pour vos observations. Paul Hi David Many thanks for taking the time to write a review. I wanted to respond on a couple of points, if I may? I cannot understand why the gate code didn't seem to work on arrival. It was changed in March, but I believe you had the latest one. Of course, you were given a remote for the gate once you had arrived. It is on occasions like this that we urge guests to get in touch with Rosa Maria, our apartment manager for help, but she knew nothing about this. There is a BBQ. Its is to the left side of the garden, and it is free for guests to use. If you had asked Rosa, she would have helped you. Through most of Andalucia there is a coast road, and for most properties you have to cross this road, by the bridge, to get to the beach and sea. As you say, it is a 5 or 6 minute walk, or 1 minute drive. Thanks you again for your stay, and for your observations. Paul

This is what Monika said in her review:- Very well furnished, spacious apartment, fully equipped kitchen, everything you need is there! 2 beautiful terraces, the larger one faces the highway, but the bedroom on the same side is completely quiet thanks to the double windows. The huge, quiet and very well maintained garden with the mega pool and the second, smaller pool is a dream! There were always enough loungers and parasols, and we were often alone in the water. The sea is also easy to reach on foot, with a beautiful, kilometer-long sandy beach. (Unfortunately, the bridge closest to the residential complex leads over the motorway into nowhere, so you have to take the next bridge along the motorway.) The well-developed beach promenade means you can quickly walk to Marbella! All in all, it was a wonderful holiday, and we would love to come back!

Many thanks indeed for your kind words regarding our apartment. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay so much Barry. In terms of your observations about the location, I would like to make the following points. Torre Real is set in beautiful 9 acre grounds, with two swimming pools and two tennis courts, as well as spectacular unimpeded views to the mountains in one direction, and the sea in the other. You cannot get this in accommodation located in the town, clearly. The apartment is also very spacious and quiet-again this is largely thanks to its location. Bearing in mind that it is a mere 3kms (2 miles) from the centre of Marbella, it is unique in terms of these attributes combined with a convenient position. We are not fast walkers, but it takes us 6 minutes to walk from Torre Real to the beach. The Trocadero restaurant, the first restaurant one encounters at the beach, is indeed up market, a fact which suits some people but not all. A pleasant 15 minute walk to the east along the beach takes you to three further restaurants and bars, which cater for all tastes and budgets. There are several more beyond these three. You do need a car if you holiday at Torre Real or, for that matter, pretty well anywhere else along the Costa, and this does mean driving along the A7 at some point. No doubt some Spanish motorists would find driving on many British roads quite stressful, because it is unfamiliar to them. If one chooses not to rent a car at the airport, one is faced instead with an 80E taxi fare in each direction just to get from, and back to, the airport. You are correct to say that parking in the street in Marbella is very difficult, in the same way that it is in many British towns. That is why there are numerous underground car parks, always with ample free space located all over Marbella. These are spotlessly clean, well maintained, and reasonably priced. The one we recommend in our ‘staying at Torre Real ‘ guide is just 50 metres from the beach promenade and a 5 minute walk to the beautiful Marbella Old Town. We thank you again for your kind comments and observations, and hope you will forgive the lengthy response, but we felt that some of these points needed to be answered in greater detail.
