Una ubicación perfecta para caminar por el canal de Monmouthshire y Brecon.

La cabaña se encuentra dentro del muelle Goytre en el canal Monmouthshire y Brecon con más de 200 años de patrimonio industrial por descubrir. El sitio ahora se desarrolló para el ocio dentro de un área de excepcional belleza natural, pero aún conserva muchas de sus características históricas.

Esta casa de campo de grado 2, cuando se construyó por primera vez, albergaba el puente de pesaje y las oficinas para pesar las cargas transportadas por caballos y carretas que se cargaban dentro y fuera de los barcos del canal en el muelle.

La cabaña en sí: el alojamiento de la planta baja consta de un salón / comedor, cocina totalmente equipada y baño con ducha.
Arriba tiene dos dormitorios con dos camas individuales (tenga en cuenta que las escaleras son más empinadas de lo habitual).
Freeview TV / reproductor de DVD y un centro de música en el salón.

Todas las habitaciones se calientan con calentadores eléctricos de convección controlados individualmente y hay una estufa de efecto de llama eléctrica de estilo tradicional en la chimenea del salón.

Great for the dog, enclosed garden area. Lovely canal side walks from the door. Interior dated and shabby. Bathroom needs a serious revamp. Some kind of mould growing on the wall, poor under powered shower which leaks through the enclosure. Door catching on the floor, very difficult to open and close. Spiders and webs hanging overhead in the shower cubicle! Very steep staircase. However it was a good base for our stay and though a bit dated, the rest of the cottage was cosy - lovely woodburning stove - and comfy. Easy check in, helpful staff.

Terrible

No keys on arrival, had to contact out of hours number to tell them. We were then greeted by a lovely gentleman who went in the property first to find it hadn’t been cleaned etc. We arrived around 7:30 Friday evening and stood around outside until after 10pm whilst he and another person cleaned the cottage. We was offered the payment of a meal up the local pub but as it was late they had stopped serving. Upon entry we found slugs coming up from the cellar in the kitchen. The bathroom was very mouldy as is the living room above the fireplace and behind the tv. The damp/mould is even on the plugs behind the tv. The fire in the living room only turns on or off, no settings work. Remote for the sound system doesn’t work. Rotten door frame to the bathroom, which is so rotten you have to lift the door to close it due to the rot around the hinge. Alarmingly the worst thing is the fir exit in the kitchen, the actual front door cannot be unlocked from the inside once locked!!! We had to go out another door to unlock the kitchen door from outside! We was offered a bottle of wine and £19 money back from lunch we had the day after our arrival. I went into the office to tell the lady on reception about the issues and the response was “I have slugs in my kitchen too” and “it’s an old building regarding the damp”. I told her about the fire door but nothing more than “no one else has mentioned it”. Wow! Extremely poor response, customer safety should be paramount. I really cannot recommend the actual setting of the cottage high enough as it’s beautiful but the cottage and owners really need to sort all these issues out

Beautiful Location

We took a walk each evening out into the fields or along the canal. Such a lovely location and fun to learn about the history of the cottage.
