Hermosa casa croft convertida con impresionantes vistas

West Cottage se construyó alrededor de 1870 como una típica casa de campo con un byre al lado, pero se deterioró gradualmente durante la década de 1990 hasta que estuvo en peligro de quedar en ruinas. En 2007 la vieja cabaña fue despojada de nuevo a la cáscara de piedra; se volvió a techar y se renovó por completo a un nivel muy alto y se construyó una gran sala de estar en el extremo de la vieja casa en el sitio del antiguo byre. La cabaña ofrece alojamiento confortable en 2 plantas. La sala de estar, la cocina / comedor y la habitación doble con ducha en-suite se encuentran en la planta baja con otra habitación doble, habitación doble y baño en la planta superior. La cocina está totalmente equipada con cocina eléctrica, microondas, nevera / congelador, lavavajillas y lavadora. El salón cuenta con estantes de libros bien surtidos, una estufa de leña y un televisor a color. Hay wifi en toda la casa.

We loved our stay here, we were comfortable and happy here even when a terrible storm meant we lost power! The view is just stunning and the location so peaceful. Our time in the rental was an absolute highlight of our trip to Scotland and it was hard to leave!

We had a great stay!The pictures don't do the place justice, especially the view from the living room is spectacular. The kitchen was equipped with everything one might need and everything was spotless. The rooms are cozy and the showers hot with good water pressure.Check in was easy and the communication with Helen as well.All in all a great stay and we hope to come again!

Lovely cottage in stunning location

We had the best stay in Helen's home. It is very comfortable, cosy, warm and the views - well they are spectacular. The kitchen is very well stocked. We explored all over Skye and then found that Knock Castle and Torabhaig distillery were on our doorstep. Highly recommend this home, we would love go back.

Lovely cottage house

The house is perfectly located for excursions on the isle (mainly the Sleat/southern part, however). Helen is a great host, welcoming and helpful.

Location location location!

It’s all about the beautiful view from this lovely cottage! Everything you need is there. Also not in the busy busy bits of Skye so perfect to relax. We had great weather and no midges so can’t complain! Only thing would be, lack of outdoor seating, a sturdy picnic table across the track on the grass would’ve been perfect since we had sun everyday.

Lovely property with beautiful views of the Sound of Sleat.

Our family had a wonderful stay at the little croft house in Sleat. The cottage, surrounded by fields with grazing sheep, was cozy, clean and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well equipped and included even a washing machine. The views across the Sound of Sleat towards the mainland were spectacular. Although Sleat often gets overlooked when booking accomodations on Skye, it is a great place from which to explore the Island and is within walking distance of the Torabhaig distillery. We highly recommend this cottage and will certainly try to stay here again in the future.

A wonderful cottage with an unparallelled view

Idyllic cottage with one of the best views of the Sound of Sleat. A peaceful haven away from the busy spots of Skye, and within reach of some of the most beautiful parts of the mainland like Glenelg and Sandaig. Great communication by the owner. My second visit and I will definitely be returning.

Heaven on Skye

We were thrilled with our stay at this authentic crofters cottage. On an increasingly crowded Skye, its location is perfect as it is sited so you see or hear no other visitors …. Only the vistas, sheep, and the sea. It is close to amenities, well appointed, and clean; the books are a treasure! Fabulous cottage; we will be back!

5 Days in Paradise.

The cottage was wonderful.My wife and I stayed for 4 nights and would have stayed longer but for family commitments. Everything we needed to make our stay comfortable was provided and the cottage was immaculate.The location was perfect, close enough to the road to be easily accessible but far enough from it to not hear passing traffic, all we heard was the occasional bleating of the neighbouring sheep and the tweeting of the birds. Having now discovered West Cottage as regular visitors to Skye and Lochaber we have added it to our list of, "we will be back" self catering cottages, if it's available.culate. stayccomfortable

FANTASTIC holiday - could not have asked for more!

Wow - West Cottage is amazing! We had a fantastic long weekend stay in Teangue, and we could not have asked for more. The house is fantastic and kitted out with everything you need - and more books than you could read in a few months! The view is spectacular, and we got some fantastic sunsrises, and moons over the water. We even got a visit from the local deer on our first night! Thank you for such a fantastic holiday, we would recommend this to everyone!

A little piece of heaven

We absolutely loved West Cottage. It has been refurbished to a very high standard whilst keeping the authentic “Croft” feel. The downstairs ensuite bedroom was perfect for my 92 year old Mum & the view from the sitting room is just breathtaking - even better when the weather’s good enough to enjoy the view sitting outside with a gin & tonic (which it was this week!)

Best stay of our 2 week trip

...and that includes two "luxury" hotels. Frank and Helen's space is wonderful and the perfect base-camp for Isle of Skye. Great kitchen (lots of extras in the pantry so look before you shop). Everything works perfectly. Quiet location, amazing views, beautiful mattress and linens, and the wood-stove and library were the best wind-down after longs days of hiking and fishing. We are deeply grateful to Frank and Helen for sharing their space with us.
