Olive View, una casa de piedra recientemente renovada en el pueblo tradicional de Nikithiano, cerca de Aghios Nikolaos, es la respuesta para usted.

Una atractiva casa de piedra de 70 m2 de 2 dormitorios / 2 baños tiene muchas de las características originales conservadas.

Para la mayoría, la terraza es el lugar para pasar su tiempo lejos, con impresionantes vistas sobre el valle y los pueblos de los alrededores. Aquí, un par de tumbonas te permiten tomar el sol y el paraguas cuando hace demasiado calor. También mesas y sillas para comer y beber al aire libre.

El acceso a la casa es a lo largo de un camino del pueblo con estacionamiento cercano.

El pueblo en sí está situado en la ladera de la colina con vistas a un exuberante valle de olivos con un puñado de almendros, higueras, granados y cítricos.
Sin ser tocado por el turismo, se encontrará inmediatamente en medio de la vida del pueblo.

Excellent property in proper old skool cretan village. Fantastic place

The property is in a fantastic picturesque location. It's out of the way but still only 15 minutes drive to the beaches and touristy places. We enjoyed eating out locally most nights and all restaurants offered good food and good prices particularly the local taverna in the village of nikithianos. The owner of the property is a wealth of information having lived on the island for many years. The property itself is a fantastic place to stop and has lots of charm and character. It was our first visit to crete and was very memorable as we were over for our daughters wedding. We have loved every minute of our stay and will hopefully make a return visit.

Wonderful house with a great view

Your house meets all expectations. We felt very comfortable. The house is perfect from the location. The view of the olive groves were very nice and relaxed. Delightful upside down house

This traditional house has been lovingly restored and refurbished to a very high standard by Julie and is equipped with everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable stay. The house is very comfortable and we loved the quirkyness of its upside down set up with the living accommodation at the top where the veranda gives beautiful views of the surrounding areas and the mountains and is a natural suntrap. It is an excellent base to visit the area but please note that a car is essential and that the house is not suitable for anyone with a disability as it is built on a very steep hillside. Thank you Julie for all your help and consideration particularly for meeting us very late on our first evening to guide us to the property it was very much appreciated.

Wir würden davon abraten!

Die Unterkunft haben wir aufgrund der vielen guten Bewertungen gebucht. Sicherlich ist Julie eine durchaus freundliche und auskunftsfreudige Vermieterin - so lange es keine größeren Probleme gibt! Leider bekamen wir bereits beide in der ersten Nacht sehr starke Verspannungen und Rückenschmerzen von der dortigen Matratze - eine Federkernmatratze, bei der sich beim Liegen jede einzelne Sprungfeder in den Rücken drückte. Auf unsere Nachfrage, ob es die Chance auf eine andere Matratze geben würde, erläuterte Julie per SMS, dass sie vorhatte den nächsten Sommer die Matratze auszutauschen. Daher könne sie versuchen schon jetzt eine neue zu besorgen und würde am Abend vorbeikommen, um das Bett auszumessen. Diese Antwort und vorgeschlagene Lösung war für uns völlig okay. Im direkten Kontakt reagierte Sie jedoch völlig anders. Als wir abends nachhause kamen, lag sie gemeinsam mit einer uns fremden Nachbarin zum Probeliegen in 'unserem' Bett, mit Schuhen. Nach wenigen Minuten ging Sie uns in einer sehr angreifenden, vorwurfsvollen und wütenden Art an und wiederholte immer wieder, dass sie nicht verstehe, wo das Problem sei. Sie würde nichts Unangenehmes spüren und es sei ziemlich "strange", dass wir ein Problem damit hätten. Jetzt müsse sie für uns extra Geld für eine Matratze ausgeben. Auf diese Weise ging es immer weiter, obwohl sie zusagte trotzdem eine neue Matratze zu besorgen. Wir waren übermüdet, hatten Rückenschmerzen von der Nacht und hatten nur versucht eine gemeinsame Lösung für die Matratze zu finden. Wir denken, so darf man nicht mit zahlenden Gästen umgehen! Wir fühlten uns schließlich so unwohl, unverstanden und unangemessen behandelt, dass uns klar wurde, dass wir in dieser Unterkunft keinen entspannten Urlaub mehr verbringen könnten - unabhängig von einer anderen Matratze. Folglich suchten wir uns eine andere Unterkunft - obwohl wir bereits den gesamten Aufenthalt gezahlt hatten.

Crete holiday 2019

The house was exactly as described, in a great area with superb views. Plenty of space inside, with a well set out kitchen, and living room, with table for eating meals. The terrace and views are the place to unwind, and either have breakfast or soak up the sun, also an excellent location to sit at the end of the day and watch the sun go down The village is quiet, and relaxing, but within easy walking distance of other villages with shops, tavernas & restaurants. And you can easily go further afield, to the coast using the regular bus service. Julie was always on hand if we needed any information or help, and nothing was too much trouble for Julie. An excellent location and holiday.

Urlaubszeit: Ende Juli / Anfang August 2019 Zwei wunderschöne Wochen, weil: - Haus ( Natursteinhaus) schön am Hang gelegen, toller Blick, ruhig, toll zum Ausspannen - "Olive view" ist landestypisch renoviert mit Liebe zum Detail. Geschmackvoll eingerichtet, Aufteilung prima. - Idealer Ausgangspunkt, um Kulturelles und Strände im Osten Kretas zu erreichen. Einige schöne Strände sind wenige Autominuten (ca. 30 Minuten) entfernt. - Häufig wehender Wind ist angenehm. - Der Empfang vor Ort war sehr freundlich und es wurden hilfreiche Tipps bei der Planung des Aufenthaltes gegeben. Beruhigend war, dass bei Bedarf immer eine Kontatkmöglichkeit gegeben war.

An amazing place to stay

We absolutely loved our 5 nights in Olive View. The location was perfect for exploring this part of Crete and the house was amazing - it had everything we needed. We spent hours on the terrace listening to what was going on around and star gazing. Julie was a great host, giving us plenty of local information and was always available. We’ll definitely be coming back and this time for longer. Thank you Julie, for making the start of our Crete adventure so amazing.

Experience the real Crete

Olive view surpassed all expectations, the accomodation was excellent and the views from the patio either day or night were amazing, a great base from which to explore north east Crete and then return to enjoy some wonderful meals in the excellent local tavernas. Wonderful

We met Julie on arrival and she was so helpful. Olive View is fantastic with breathtaking views of the Olive Trees and the mountains. It is very peaceful and private. We spent two weeks here and it is ideal for visiting the local beaches, touring the region or relaxing on the Sun Terrace. We loved our stay and would not hesitate to return. Wonderful stay in a wonderful location

Olive View lives up to its name . It was just as we thought it would be in the region of Neapoli surrounded by olive groves with stunning views- we hired a car and could park at the top of the property near the renovated windmill which is a great landmark for locating the property - it’s easy to get to Hersonissos and Malia and in the opposite direction to Agios Nikolaos and Elounda. Julie is a great host and very informative. It was lovely to sit out on the terrace at night listening to the different sounds around and the stars. Would highly recommend

Une location sympa, très fonctionnelle, avec une terrasse très bien exposée et une très jolie vue.

Dès notre arrivée, Julie notre hôte était là pour nous accueillir et nous conseiller tant dans nos visites que pour nous restaurer. La jolie maison (une ancienne étable), complètement indépendante, est très confortable. Avoir deux salles de bain, c'est très pratique! Nous avons eu la chance d'avoir un très beau temps, du soleil tous les jours (séjour fin octobre début novembre), si bien que nous avons profité de la terrasse et de sa belle vue sans nuisance sonore! un régal ! Une envie d'y retourner sans hésitation !

Superb.

A credit to the owner (Julie) who has renovated this delightful house to the very highest standard.....well equipped, you will want for nothing in the way of fixtures and fittings. Julie is very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable, having lived in Crete for over 25 years. There’s little she doesn’t know about the island. I can recommend this property without hesitation. It’s in a very small village tucked away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Lord Lucan could be living next door and you’d never know!

Das Haus ist toll, sauber und man hat zwei Bäder. Julie ist wirklich wunderbar. Einziger Knackpunkt: Das Haus ist eine Herausforderung für große Menschen. Aber das sollte zu machen sein. Die Bürger im Dorf sind mehr als zuvorkommend. Alles in allem ein toller Urlaub. Efcaristo Julie ❤️

Amazing views

This cottage was one of the best appointed that we have stayed in. The standard is extremely high, right down to having two showers which was a real bonus, my partner and I got one each! The patio is a real sun trap getting sun from morning right through to around 8pm in August, still hot enough to sunbathe! The view is spectacular over the valley and at night the sky is full of stars. We never sat indoors at all, we spent the entire time on that patio except for sleeping and bathing. I loved to lie down on the lounger at night just looking up at the stars enjoying the tranquility and we saw several shooting stars over the fortnight as well as a regular "flying" visit from an owl. We had lots of little feline visitors and got rather attached to one toothless little chap who visited us every night. For a cat lover like me it was a real treat. One thing that was missing though was a barbecue, but this didn't spoil our holiday in the slightest. Also being very keen cooks eager to try cooking local food we could have done with some extra lighting in the kitchen. We tried several local food markets and Aghios Nikolaos was excellent. We couldn't believe how much fresh food we got for our money, and the quality was superb. The taverna in the village was very atmospheric, we asked for a beer and a red wine and the wine came as a carafe which gave me 4 glasses. It also came with meze which filled us up nicely, an unexpected treat and all for just 10 euros! The only downside was some dogs barking nearby constantly during the day a few times but after a polite word with the owner the problem was solved with no hassle at all. We loved this little cottage and Julie was a great source of information too. Even though the cottage is very near the road you really don't hear a thing, we forgot the road was there, no road noise at all. We slept very soundly every night! There are so many little villages to see, we stayed away from most of the big tourist atractions so we felt we experienced a more authentic experience. Plaka was my favourite place by far but I was very pleasantly surprised by Aghios Nikolaos, having been there many years ago. It is a nicely sized cosmpolitan place but not noisy and tasteless like so many tourist places nowadays. All in all a great holiday.

Schönes Ferienhaus mit tollem Ausblick!

Wer die Ruhe abseits vom Ferientrubel sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Das Ferienhaus ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man als Selbstversorger braucht. Sehr schön ist die Terrasse mit Blick auf die Berge und die Olivenhaine. Mit dem Auto kann man schnell schöne Wanderziele in den Bergen erreichen, aber auch Strände sind nicht weit weg. Julie ist eine sehr nette Vermieterin. Wir wurden sogar mit einer Flasche Wein und einer Kostprobe ihres hervorragenden Olivenöls begrüßt.

Fabulous!

A beautifully restored stone house on the edge of the village. The views over the olive tree covered hills from the large south facing terrace are wonderful. It is well equipped with lovely features inside. I appreciated the bath and cotton bedding. The house was very clean for our arrival and Julie had provided us with her own oil and a bottle of lovely white wine - both very much appreciated. She was very good at communicating and responding to enquiries. We had a wonderful week in this Cretan rural location, but close enough to the national road to be able to get to places east and west very easily. Perfect!

Idyllic surprise hidden in the Cretan Hills

Olive View hosted by Julie, lived upto and exceeded all our expectations from the very first minute to when we left 4 days later. The tranquility of the area having driven through some very typical resort style areas from Heraklion made it all the more perfect. The small village with its local taverna when combined with the outstanding view over the olive growing valley, and only a short drive up the hill to Neapoli, a lively local district town, places the property in an ideal location for exploring further afield, away from the hustle and bustle and the more known tourist areas of the north and east coasts. The complete renovation of a former derelict barn by Julie has been tastefully done, with attention to detail well beyond expectation. The furniture and fittings used all complement each other and makes the stay at Olive View all the more enjoyable. Julie’s knowledge of the area from over 25 years experience in the location helped greatly. She was able to point out various locations and sites not on the tourist map which were a MUST to see. We can highly recommend Julie’s Olive View to those travellers seeking something traditional and representative of the local life on Crete.

Wir hatten einige sehr schöne Tage in der Unterkunft. Julie ist eine sehr freundliche Gastgeberin. Die Wohnung ist originell eingerichtet und sauber.

Julie was very friendly and hospitable and communications were good. The cottage was well equipped including dvd player with dvds supplied. The wine and olive oil were a nice touch. The terrace was great with sunshine early till late with stunning views to the mountains. The village was friendly and traditional with good options for eating out. Don't be put off staying by the main road as it is set back and down the hill so there is no noise from it. We loved the area for walks.

Originally from UK, I fell in love with the charms of Crete, over the 25 years I have been working here.
In the summer months I have worked with tourism from the basic to luxury, letting them know how to find the wonders of this beautiful island.

In winter, its another life with few holidaymakers, and on the whole milder weather - its off to do olive picking, growing my vegetables & walking the dogs in the countryside or along deserted coastlines.

Olive View is ideally positioned in top of the village, with stunning views over the valley & hillside villages opposite.
You have the sun on the terrace all day, so excellent for soaking up the sun.
Its location means, a short drive will take you to beaches, large & small resorts,villages, towns, mountains, need I say more!

I have tried to keep some original features of this traditional house & mix it with modern facilities.
The terrace area has stunning views over the olive tree valley with the mountains in the distance
