Elegante cabaña de playa para 4 - 6, a sólo 85 mtrs de playa de arena 'Bandera Azul'.

Elegante, casa de playa contemporánea muy cerca de la playa con paseos por el sendero costero impresionante. Situado en una popular playa de surf con Bigbury en el mar y la isla de Burgh, a sólo 10 minutos a pie, en temporada de bar frente al mar y el pescado y la playa chip shack. A sólo 15 minutos a pie de Journey's End Pub o 10 minutos (la marea lo permite) a la Pilchard Inn en Burgh Island.
El Loft tiene dos dormitorios, un rey tamaño doble con TV, armario y cuarto de baño con ducha. Un doble / doble tamaño doble con armario, TV / DVD. También hay un sofá cama doble en el gran salón del primer piso. Baño familiar con ducha grande. Amplia cocina y comedor con nevera, congelador, lavavajillas, lavadora, microondas, cocina de gas y horno. Primer piso amplio salón, TV / DVD, apertura a un balcón cerrado con fachada de cristal, con mesa y sillas. El Loft dispone de calefacción central y conexión Wi-Fi privada. Privado fuera de la carretera de aparcamiento cerrado, ducha exterior para lavarse a la vuelta de la playa, podemos ofrecer el almacenamiento de garaje seguro para las juntas, bicicletas, etc a petición.

Lovely stay in a beautiful house. Had everything we needed for a relaxing family break. Lovely welcome pack on arrival. Bed linens all lovely, great selection of games, we especially enjoyed articulate. Challaborough itself has a beautiful beach, great for morning stroll with the dog. Can recommend for a relaxing break with fresh air, gorgeous views and then a lovely snug house time back to.

Very accommodating and greeted us on arrival with welcome gifts. Great location and very close to the beach. Property was very clean. Great location as the dogs loved the beach and coastal paths were easily accessible. Recommend a visit to the journeys end but booking essential. All in all a fantastic break away

The property was lovely and well equipped. We were surprised however to find that it overlooked a large caravan park. It was a quiet time and there was no noise but at high season it may be different.

Excellent, comfortable and tastefully appointed beach house just a few metres from the picturesque Challaborough surf beach, Bigbury, Burgh Island and the great ocean walk. The little villages of South Devon were a delight, particularly close-by Ringmore with excellent eating at free house The Journeys End.

A great beach.location, made for those that enjoy the sea, sand and fresh air offered on the Devon coast. The propert worked well for us and our dog. The hosts had really thiigh carefully about what is needed for a seaside homiday, the outside shower, the well equiped kitchen and a great outside space.

We had an excellent 7 nights here due to the mostly warm and sunny weather and to the up-to-date, clean, nature of the Loft cottage and its facilities. There were only a couple of minor issues, the main one of which was finding the cottage on arrival in Challaborough. We arrived from the Bigbury direction and missed the cottage completely due to no Follyfoot sign being visible from this direction and the instructions assuming arrival from the other Ringmore direction. We then looked for a cottage on the beach but this beach cottage is, as advertised, ~100 metres back from the beach. Anyway we soon found it and even us oldies managed the ~100 metres to the beach on most days! As other reviews have also noted, the view from the Loft is an extensive caravan park rather than a beach or the sea but this is no problem if the weather is good enough to go to the beach where the sea-views are excellent! Finally, electronic comms from the Reids' are excellent and visitor privacy was certainly well maintained during our stay. In conclusion, we can recommend the Loft as an excellent short holiday destination which is also good value for money.

The reviews and the pictures had us thinking this was going to be an amazingly comfortable luxurious house. We were honestly quite disappointed. The location is fabulous-a very short stroll to the beach. Parking for two cars was great. However, the house was not very clean-there was mould on the tiles in the showers and the grout was grotty. The floors were grubby, and not cleaned in the corners etc. under the beds and under the sofa were thick with dust. The beds were super uncomfortable-the single beds (which I think were small singles)-had mattresses that you could feel the springs digging into you and were very hard. The double was also very hard and unforgiving. Despite it being the height of summer the duvets were thick winter weight making sleeping even more difficult. There were no extra things in the kitchen like cling film/foil, and no cloths for washing the counters (only 1 dish sponge). We were visiting with two young kids, and asked if there were any beach things like buckets/spades etc, and despite owning the beach shop, the owners did not have anything like this available at the house to borrow during the stay.

Lovely break away with parents

Stayed here for 4 nights. The house was well equipped and very clean. Communication with host was great. A lovely gesture by the host leaving a bottle of prosecco and box of fudge. Very close to the beachfront, which was great as parents are almost 90 years old. Didn't realise the caravan park was directly in front which was our main view, small view of the sea could be seen from balcony. Lovely coastal walks without taking the car.One downside of the area was the road in and out , it was so narrow with poor passing places, there should be a one way system would make it so much better.We all had a wonderful time .

Good Place

Thanks, we had a lovely few days away, peace and quiet, bar lo call and great Fish & Chips from the Fryer Tuck just down the road. Good walks from location with great views.All in all a good few days away.

Mid-Week Break in Challaborough Bay

Lovely property in close proximity to the beach at Challaborough Bay and a short walk to Bigbury. The property was as described and overlooks the Challaborough Bay holiday park. It's great for surfing and visiting Bigbury/Burgh Island. Salcombe is a short drive and there are many National Trust places to visit. Note that the drive down to the property is a typical road to the coast (e.g. steep and narrow).

Beautifully appointed home with everything you need

We stayed at The Loft for the last week of the school holidays. The communication prior with the owners was very good and the check in process and directions were good. The house has 2 ground floor bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, as well as a very well appointed kitchen diner, including walking up liquid , dishwasher tablets and laundry detergent. Everything was beautiful with lots of attention to detail. Upstairs is a lovely lounge and balcony, there is a TV and a cupboard full of board games and another full of DVDs. It was our first time visiting Devon and the only drawback is the access roads to the beaches, including Challaborough. They are often single track with passing places. This made for some stressful driving experiences! Fortunately you have access to Challaborough beach at the end of the road or a 10-15 minute walk along the coastal path to Bigbury and Burgh Island beaches, which became our preferred one, as we ditched the car after a few days. Overall we cannot fault the house and the owners were very kind, and if you’re a confident driver then the location shouldn’t trouble you either.

Amazing break

Just returned from 5 nights at The Loft. Brilliant location, fabulous accommodation. Less than 5 mins from the beach. Property exactly as described. Extremely clean and tidy. Owners really friendly and nice touch with the discount at the beach shop just round the bay. Lovely upstairs sitting area. Great fish and chips just off the beach. Would love to visit again.

Amazing location

We have just returned from the most amazing week. The location of the house to the beach made the holiday, it is literally minutes. We spent the week on the beach as had beautiful weather. We took the SUP to the beach daily, the weather meant we had calm waters. Russel and Amanda were fantastic hosts.
