LAS CASAS DE CUATRO VIENTOS se encuentran JUSTO A TRAVÉS DE LA CALLE DESDE EL OCÉANO en Mile post 17. 5 en Beach Road en 8310 S Old Oregon Inlet Rd en la encantadora South Nags Head.

We enjoyed staying at this cottage. It was very comfortable and very clean and well maintained. It is dog friendly especially with a fenced in yard.The location was very good for all the places we were going to.

Everything that we needed for the most part is available at this house. Comfortable beds and couches were nice. Decent layout for a single family and a couple of pets if needed. The location is excellent and the walk to the beach is a few minutes away across the street. We'd definitely stay here again. Our pup really loved it too.

Lots of times the actual property doesn't look as good as the pictures, but this wasn't the case here; everything about this little cottage was charming and just like the pictures! It was the perfect size and had all the amenities you would need for your stay, and even some we didn't need. The "no stairs" feature was great for my husband, who has bad knees, and the little fenced in yard was perfect for when I didn't want to walk my girls. The few times I needed to contact the host, I received a reply right away. It was great having private beach access practically right across the street, too.

This little cottage was absolutely perfect!! My husband and I and our dogs had the best time. Very clean and beautifully decorated!! We will definitely stay here again! I highly recommend this place!!

Really great location for a really great price! Public beach access is very short walk by crossing the street, walk north (take a left) for a couple driveways (houses are close together) than take right into the public parking access with a nice ramp if needed. Gorgeous beach. Flat and beautiful sand. The property is very clean. The house starter kits, towels, and paper products are a very nice convenient touch for making a shorter stay compared to being in a full house and having to buy everything. Check in process was seamless, GREAT communication with property owner/manager, and clean facility with newer touches done. Comfortable furniture, nice/cute kitchen, new fridge. Great all around.Only thing I’d like to see improved is if the full mattress on the kids bunk set should be updated. The current mattress satisfies needs for kids but being an adult it was really really broken down and didn’t support/make sleep very comfortable. Other than this, everything was great, and I’d definitely stay again, very soon!

Great place!!!

Loved the little cottage. Very homey and easy access to everything! Loved having a washer and dryer. And we left it as we found it. Always clean up after ourselves!!!

The cottage was perfect for our family. The rare first floor house was great with no stairs to climb. The fenced area was perfect for our little dogs to go outside and be free to do their needs. The cottage has several updates like new appliances, good flooring for the beach, and nice furniture. It is very clean and comfortable. We slept great and had everything we needed for our stay.The cottage would easily house a family with kids. It is across the street from the beach. Chairs and umbrella are available for weekly rental too.The shower is unique with the handles on the opposite side of entry. I would recommend adding a deadbolt to the side door entry for improved safety.

Loved this little cottage right across from the beach

Located on the southern side of Nags Head and right across from the beach with a shared boardwalk with another property they rent. Super easy to cross the road and be on the beach quickly. Also right across the street is the multi use path so perfect if you wanted to bring bikes or go for a walk. We did bike a few times down to the piers that were nearby. Was a very quiet area with the heart of nags head and kill devil hills close by as well. Many restaurants, shopping etc. The cottage itself was decorated nicely and had all newer appliances that worked well. Plenty of hot water and the central AC worked very well. Was just my wife and I so plenty of space. The 2nd bedroom was nice just for storage of our extra stuff. Outside hose and shower for rinsing off sand and beach items. Only downside was the internet seemed intermittent especially at night. I am not one to really need internet while on vacation but there was no cell signal (t-mobile) within the cottage maybe due to the roof type so needed wifi calling in order to receive any calls or texts. It worked 70% of the time but sometimes the master bedroom tv would say no internet along with our phones saying the same. Restarting the spectrum modem did not resolve the issue but then in the morning it would be working again on its own. Cell signal worked fine outside just not inside. Overall loved our stay and will be back to Nags Head at some point. So much to do and very different interesting area than the Florida beaches

Lovely little house

Nice place with fully stocked kitchen. Great location and price. Rooms could have better lighting for reading. Would lovecto stay there again.

Back in Time

My family and I stayed at the Four Winds many summers in the 60s. The cottages are just as wonderful today as they were then. Comfy and cozy and well-stocked with the necessary amenities. I highly recommend them.

Small outdated cottage on the beach

The cottage was underwhelming due to its age and outdated decor. The furnishings seem to have seen some use. Even though you’re at the beach, it would be nice to have a large screen TV at night and instead of a DVD player a Roku (or similar). The “fenced yard” for the dogs isn’t practical and all rocks. The check in process was easy and the cottage was clean. The public beach access is about a two minute walk away - you have to cross a busy highway. Negs Head is a wonderful city along with all the small OBX cities. Also, the property manager hung out at the end of the driveway while we were packing - seemed like he was checking to make sure we left before 10am.

Convenient and clean

My family has stayed at this cottage multiple times over the years when we visit the outer banks. The cottage is very accessible to the beach (just across the street from public access) and to the rest of nags head. The cottage is clean and small, but perfect for those who aren't looking for a whole mansion and like it cozy. Not the most up to date, but was exactly what we needed overall. Will use again!

Wonderful

The rental was a wonderful place to stay. There is a short walk to the beach, close to restaurants, and close to many local attractions. The house has beautiful decorations. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances.

Great Vacation 2024

Upon arrival no issues getting inside cottage. It was neat and clean no fur baby smell. The kitchen well stocked with whatever you needed. Living room furniture and bed very comfortable. Screen porch was nice especially in the evenings. Easy access to beach. Also if needed turn to the right when you leave the cottage and it’s a Handicap accessible beach access a block away on Hargrove St. where life guard building is (Public access ) They have a parking lot also . Fenced yard big enough for my fur baby. We will return and Management was great she answered all my questions. Wanda Story8/3/24

Our Founder, Dr. Sarah Forbes passed away in 2011. She was a compassionate physician, dedicated to her patients becoming Norfolk General’s first female chief resident of OB/GYN.
In 1958, she became the first female physician to open a private OB/GYN practice in Newport News, VA.
Dr. Forbes was the first woman to be selected to the board, and the first female president, of the Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula, where she was honored as a member of the “Wall of Fame” – the first and only woman to be so honored in the club’s 65-year history.

Sarah was often honored for her contributions to the organizations she served, and the community she loved.
Among her many awards were the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities’ Humanitarian Award in 2007, and the Medallion Award which is the highest recognition presented by The Boys and Girls Club of America to volunteers.

She served as president of several community organizations that include the Virginia Peninsula Academy of Medicine, the Newport News Chapter of the American Cancer Society, the Newport News Medical Society, and the Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Her generosity benefited many organizations, including the Cancer Society, the Newport News Medical Society, the Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Family Planning Council, First Baptist Church of Newport News, the Peninsula SPCA, Mariners’ Museum, Riverside Hospital, and Christopher Newport University.

We are continuing Dr. Forbes’ Legacy
All of our vacation homes are owned by Sarah E. Forbes MD, Trust which continues her legacy by using our profits to make regular donations to the charities she loved.
We take care of the houses like she would have wanted.
