Thomas was a neat and respectful renter —- we would certainly rent to he and his family again.

We would like to apologize, again, for the difficulties experienced during the rental week. It is certainly not the experience we want renters to have. There are, however, many inaccuracies with this review. The renter should know that all communications through VRBO is saved in our account and where it clearly shows that the renter emailed us for access information on 7/7 and was “looking forward to their stay” and we responded on the same day. There is no communication regarding the ‘mistake’ because there was none. Primary communication with the renter was through text and we also have all those and they contradict much of the review: Cleanliness of the house – the cleaners did a poor job and when the renter informed us she had spent an hour cleaning so we said we would compensate for the inconvenience.Two days later, the renter brought it up again and we offered to send the cleaners back but she did not see the value. When asked how she wanted to proceed, we received no answer. Mice – despite the assertion of a ‘long standing problem’, there have been no mice reported by any renter or seen by us. This includes the person who rented the entire 2016-2017 off-season and the renter the week prior. It is the first time in 16 years of ownership that a mouse has been seen. Both of us agreed that an exterminator would not be ideal with kids in the house and her husband offered to get traps, we offered to provide more compensation. The renter said that they took ‘tons of pictures and would send them to us’. We needed to show an exterminator to assess the problem. We finally received 3 pictures on Thursday after being told that they took them ‘for their own records’. Some other fabrications: ‘really rude’, ‘yelling on the phone’ and accusations of lying - This would be impossible. The first time I spoke to the renter was on check out day to apologize again and ask if they had left so the exterminator could get in. ‘Partial refund’ – A partial refund was never discussed. The renter demanded a FULL refund and threatened to call every agency in the book if we didn’t consider it. 'Reimbursement for traps' – the renters were reimbursed 10% of the rental cost for the troubles covering far more than traps. Overall, an unfortunate rental. We have texts and emails that shows the renters account is inaccurate. We tried in good faith to address the issues, reimbursed extra money and apologized many times. We are done apologizing.
