La "Cantina de la Casa de la Colina" es una nueva adición a la lista VRBO de la Casa en la Colina # 196194. A 150 pies y 53 escalones debajo de la casa principal se encuentra esta estructura de bloques de hormigón ......... Privatizada por un arco de pinos en esta área al aire libre Asientos cubiertos, un banquete de estuco y un área de entretenimiento con fumador y parrilla. La cantina cuenta con techos de 13 '' y grandes puertas de vidrio y metal que ayudan a controlar la luz y el flujo de aire ... que también, cuando se abre, crea una atmósfera al aire libre de "acampada".

La cantina duerme 2 en un sofá plegable muy cómodo. La ropa de cama de alta calidad se almacena para facilitar el acceso cuando decide "entregar" por la noche. Una chimenea Isokern aumenta su comodidad en las noches y mañanas frías de Marfa. La cocina completa está equipada con una estufa de gas, cocina eléctrica, vajilla Fiestaware, utensilios de cocina y cafetera. Hay una pequeña sala de polvo y justo al lado de esta habitación una fabulosa ducha sexy al aire libre con agua corriente fría y caliente. Nota: esta ducha exterior es la única ducha.

Fantastic host and beautiful, quirky home. I want to start by saying Robert’s attentiveness and prompt response to help clarify heating instructions or anything was super! The reviews made me feel initially that the bathroom was far, but it’s literally next to the front entrance with its own door . There are small heaters everywhere so you shouldn’t ever be cold. We live in NYC via Texas and barely needed the heater . The home is beautiful and we wish we could have stayed longer. The shower is wonderful. We will stay here again next time. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

This staycation house is an artsy, quirky, wonderful little oasis tucked away in Marfa. It is quiet, and feels secluded, although is easily walkable into town for all your art galleries, shops, eateries, coffee, etc. The grounds of the property are beautiful, with multiple areas for relaxing, grilling, reading, and includes a patio area with a fire-pit. The house includes a great little kitchen with small fridge, gas stove/oven, cutting/prepping areas, coffee/espresso maker, and a large custom sink. Plenty of flatware, silverware, utensils, cups/glasses. We went to the grocery store in town (Lowes and Get Go) and did lots of cooking at the house. The bathroom, while fantastic, is separate from the house- so you have to walk out the door and immediately enter into the bathroom. Nonetheless, everything is delightfully artistic, with custom touches everywhere. Great outdoor shower, which has plenty of privacy and coverage from view. We met the owner, Robert, who is amazing! He is friendly and kind. We would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend this place for anyone new or familiar to Marfa. Great romantic getaway place, and/or a quiet oasis for those who need a little getaway.

Warm and cozy quick weekend getaway at beautiful Marfa casita.

Great location and relaxing accommodations. Beautiful casita and nice furnishing. Interesting artwork. Enjoyed outside shower in the afternoon as the mornings were cold. Smells lovely in the courtyard, which is verdant. Full of flowers and butterflies this past weekend in early November. Pull out bed works for a short stay in laid back Marfa.

Super Cute Stay

Traveling to Big Bend and stayed in this very cute studio. We knew what we were getting into with no real bed or private indoor shower. We enjoyed our stay for the time we were actually at the studio. It has most of the comforts you would expect. With that said; Our bodies(over 45 years)are just not meant for sleeping on a pull out sofa or trying to shower outdoors when the wind is blowing. Other than that, we were very cozy.

Great place in Marfa!

I think there was a little confusion with the reservation, but everything was clean when I arrived and there were no issues checking in. What a great place. I’ll be back soon, and hopefully for more than a long weekend.

Oasis In the Desert

This property has been a game changer for me; since we started staying here I truly enjoy our week + long trips a few times a year to visit our kids. Great Stay!

We really enjoyed our stay in Marfa. We experienced snow during our trip and the host was kind enough to offer to move our stay to a later date. The place was warm and even had a fireplace that we were able to use during the cold weather. Although the shower is outside, it felt private and the water was hot. The futon converts to a bed and has a mattress topper that made for comfortable sleeping. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved staying at the canteen for our anniversary! It was our first time visiting Marfa and staying here was a perfect addition to our trip. This unique spot has tons of character and we’d recommend it to anyone looking for an out of the ordinary stay!

Kick back and relax

Worst part of this property was leaving. From coffee and tea on the patio in the cool summer morning to star gazing and drinks in the evening. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful and cozy abode. Honestly did not realize how much we would enjoy showering under the stars. I highly recommend this property and will be booking again!!

Eclectic Marfa casita

You definitely get the Marfa feel staying at this Casita. It clearly states that the bed is a futon made out to your only bed. It is small but cozy with the fireplace nearby. Casita is located right next to a busy road and the train tracks close by. Because we don't live in the city,, we are not use to hearing traffic/trains while sleeping. Bring a white noise machine or app if you are a light sleeper. Also we were there when it was windy so it made it challenging to take an outdoor shower with the shower curtain flying around. It would be great to have a more permanent door for the shower.

Perfection

The Canteen was Marfa inspired perfection. So nicely appointed. Every aspect was thoughtfully orchestrated: architecture, landscape design, artwork, furnishings. I could go on and on. The flowers were gorgeous during our stay, and we had so much fun watching the butterflies, lizards, and hummingbirds! We hope to come again sometime.

Magic in Marfa

Our stay at the House on the Hill Cantina in Marfa was "ab-soul-utely" magical. Such a delightfully, whimsical space filled with wonderful art, all the comforts of home and incredible outdoor setting. Perfect for two! It was exactly what we needed … a peaceful space blanketed with billions of stars. Mr. Bellamy and his team made sure are expectations were met and then some. We could not have asked for a better host nor a better maintained space. You can feel the specialness of the space as soon as you pull up in the drive. Stress just peels away and you find yourself experiencing a true Marfa experience. Oh, did I mention location? Fantastic! Within walking distance to everything in downtown Marfa and a take off point to Fort Davis, Terlingua, Lajitas and Presidio. We loved it! Thank you Mr. Bellamy!!

A cool property but very uncomfortable

We arrived at night and there were no street signs and mapquest couldn't locate the property and we were lost for an hour and our calls were not answered during that time. The bed should really be for one person and horribly uncomfortable, don't think I slept!! You must go outside to use the restroom and the shower is completely outdoors. This is probably my fault for not carefully reading the descriptions. I would not recommend this to my friends !

As an artist, I was drawn to Marfa because there is always something interesting and educational or musical going on in town. Being in the high desert, it's warm and dry during the day...crisp and cool at night. I try to get to Marfa at least once a month.
