Nuestra casa alrededor del año 1930 en el histórico Peterson Farm ha sido restaurado y está listo para recibir a los huéspedes que se sienten atraídos por la tranquilidad y la paz de la vida en el campo. Nuestro objetivo es proporcionar a nuestros visitantes con un refugio único y confortable en un entorno tranquilo y rural. Kate’s cottage is the definition of a hidden gem! Gale’s attention to detail is amazing! She has thought through every need that her guests could have. The daily breakfast were divine. We stayed on a super hot weekend and the temperature in the cottage was perfect! I could not dream of a more adorable cottage if I tried. I can’t wait to be back when it’s a bit cooler to fully enjoy the property!

Perfect road trip stay-over

Quaint, quiet cottage off the beaten path and well worth the "detour". Gale is the best hostess, the place is perfectly kept, the setting is awesome and the breakfast (surprise!) was amazing. It was our first stay at Kate's Cottage, but hopefully not our last.

Amazing! The Cottage was so homey, cozy and clean. Our host Gale was very hospitable and breakfast each day was delicious. This is our new go to..we will be back this Fall.

Everything and More

The property is exactly what it says it is. The photos don't really do it justice, but when do they? It's cute and tiny and perfect. It's just the right size for one or two people. There's a large yard and lots of buildings. I enjoyed walking around exploring. Breakfast each morning was a treat, absolutely delicious, and delivered without interruption to my time or solitude. The kitchen is also well-equipped. Everything was comfortable... bed, chairs, couch. Setting the ambient temperature was easy, and could be changed quickly. The bathroom was clean and well-stocked, great water pressure and lots of hot water. There's no TV, but when I mentioned wanting to watch movies, the property owner provided an old laptop that plays DVDs. It was perfect. There's no wi-fi, but I got a good mobile signal. Be sure to not miss the attic loft. I was thrilled at this cute little surprise. I cannot fully express how perfect Kate's Cottage is. I even got to enjoy the farm cat and Flo, the Dog, both friendly and eager to welcome. I can't imagine not staying here again some time. It's perfect for a retreat any season.

The Getaway You've Always Needed

This place is absolutely perfect. If you spent your childhood out in the open fields with your parents/grandparents and find yourself longing for the simplicity that life brought you, here is your stay. It is perfect. A perfect stay on this idyllic farm

Kate’s cottage is a perfect place for a get away or just a stop over. Host Gale thought of everything to make our stay absolutely perfect. She is super accommodating and communicative. Staying on her farm which has been in her family for 100+ years was such a treat. This was one of most memorable places we have stayed at in years. We look forward to staying here again.

Incredible Stay in a Beautiful Cottage

It was an absolutely treat to get to stay at this cottage. Gale is an incredible host. It felt like a complete and thorough stay amongst the beautiful backdrop of South Dakota. The property is clean and beautifully decorated. It's so very comfortable, if you never get an experience like this one then I would say you were missing out. Thank you for everything, I was sad to leave!

loved the location

The cabin is in a rural setting, which is tranquil and restful. Our host, Gale, was around taking care of animals, so we were able to interact with her on several occasions; she was friendly and helpful with information on the area. We enjoyed our June three-night stay immensely. The cabin is tastefully decorated, with details of original woodwork adding to its charm. We had plenty of space, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfasts were delicious. We also enjoyed the company of the dog, cats, and goats.

Absolutely delightful cottage!

We have stayed at many VRBOs and this was definitely one of the best. The cottage was perfect--charming, comfortable, and full of character. Gail was the perfect host! She made us the most wonderful, delicious breakfasts each morning. We enjoyed visiting her playful goats and spending time with Flo, her black lab.

AMAZING!!

The property was beautiful along with the house. So cute and cozy! Be ready for the sweet animals that great you when you open the door. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone who wants a relaxing retreat.

Wonderful stay!

We stayed here while we were in South Dakota visiting our daughter, a student at USD. This property is close to campus. Kate’s Cottage is very cozy and clean! It exceeded all of our expectations! And, as all of the reviews have talked about, Gale’s hospitality and her hot breakfasts are exceptional! We will definitely be return visitors!!

Another great visit

This is the second time we have stayed at Kate's Cottage and it won't be the last. It's such a cozy, peaceful place for a relaxing retreat, with great hospitality and wonderful food. Highly recommend!
