La 'Casa de Fontes' se diseñó y construyó, en general, para todo tipo de clientes son los apasionados de naturaleza, paisajes, caminatas, trekking, deportes acuáticos o simplemente para una relajante estancia en una zona muy agradable y tranquilo de Calheta.

Tener una superficie aproximada de 90m2 este piso estudio tiene también una explanada a la envidia de cualquier naturaleza y paisajismo amante y también un lugar donde se puede tomar el sol en cualquier momento del día o simplemente para asistir a uno de los mejores sol se pone en el isla. Los espacios son compartidos con diferentes combinaciones de luz y ambientes que van entre los estilos moderno y rústico.


Los viñedos con su propio lagar y bodega: Siendo este apartamento rodeado de hermosos viñedos para hacer el famoso vino de Madeira y cultivan Terrazas su ubicación geográfica también es perfectamente accesible a todo tipo de comercios, restaurantes, bares, museos locales y una maravillosa playa de arena a pocos minutos de distancia no mencionar también uno de los sitios mejor conservados y naturales para caminar y rutas de senderismo en toda la isla de Madeira.

Mirando a dar un paseo?: Como Guía de Montaña y natural de esta fascinante isla, reuní varios temas y actividades que ofrecer y compartir con el cliente, tales como: hacer de guía privado o asesorándole en hacer distancias a pie corto o largo, en sus montañas o famosas levadas, las transferencias a tomar y para traer de vuelta después de las caminatas, el alquiler de un coche para uno o más días, ciclismo de montaña, ballenas / delfines o la observación de aves, expediciones en jeep o incluso una excursión por la isla. Básicamente, mi misión aquí es ofrecerle la fiesta más emocionante y agradable que se puede tener en Madeira!

Un petit coin de paradis!

Logement très bien placé (endroit stratégique pour découvrir l’île, proche de beaucoup de randonnées, proche de supermarché). Attention de bien utiliser Google map pour trouver l’adresse exacte et non pas Apple Map). Communication très facile avec Bruno qui est très arrangeant. On se sent chez soi, au calme et une vue splendide sur les vignes, la vallée et l’océan! Merci!

Wunderschöne Auszeit

Manchmal sollte man wirklich auf sein Bauchgefühl hören und das buchen, was einem als erstes ins Auge springt und einem sofort zusagt. So war es bei diesem Apartment. Wir haben unsere 14 Tage bei Maria und Bruno sehr genossen! Das Apartment ist hier schon sehr gut von unseren Vorgängern beschrieben worden und traf unsere Vorstellungen. Vom ersten Moment an fühlten wir uns darin sehr wohl (die Einrichtung ist absolut liebevoll mit lauter kleinen netten Details versehen) - und der Garten ist wirklich toll (alleine der Ausblick!). Eine Ruhe-Oase in ländlicher Idylle. Bruno war uns auf seine humorvolle, sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Art sofort sympathisch. Maria und er sorgten stets dafür, dass es an nichts fehlte und wir fühlten uns als Gäste wirklich willkommen. Sie beide waren auf eine angenehme, unaufdringliche Art da. Für uns persönlich war der Mix aus "Wir haben unser Reich und doch jederzeit einen Ansprechpartner in der Nähe" total gelungen. Wir wussten schon recht früh während unseres Aufenthaltes: es wird auf den Urlaub im nächsten Jahr gespart - und es geht unbedingt wieder zu Bruno und Maria! Wir hoffen auf ein Wiedersehen und wünschen den Beiden alles Gute!

Traumhafter Ausblick

Wir haben den Aufenthalt bei Maria und Bruno in Calheta sehr genossen. Nachdem wir vor zwei Jahren eine Schlechtwetterperiode erwischt haben, mussten wir dies unbedingt wiederholen und haben nichts bereut. Es hat an nichts gefehlt, ein Auto ist obligatorisch, ein Supermarkt in nächster Nähe und einen der wenigen Sandstrände. Idealer Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen und andere Unternehmungen.

Wonderful!

Welll... we were really impressed as soon as we got to the apartment, everything was more than we could hope for. Bruno was very attentive and welcoming, took us through the itinerary of the house and the local amenities. The apartment was very well equipped, clean and decorated lovely, like home from home. The views from the garden were awesome and we didn't want to go off too much as it was relaxing and very chilled. I have visited Madeira 8 or 9 times in the past 20 years, stayed mostly in hotels and self catering near or around Funchal, which was lovely but to be honest, staying up in the west tside of Madeira in the cultural part with local people was the best ever, sitting in the garden looking across at the sea and all the countryside, watching the day to day life of the people and the animals. The farming of the land and watching the beautiful sunset go down in the evening was the best. The house was all equipped with everything you would want even down to a magnifying mirror in the lovely clean bathroom.! Essential for make up! 😊 We were offered the use of freshly grown herbs and tomatoes from the garden which we did, as we like to cook local produce. All in all I think you could not wish for anywhere better to stay in Madeira especially a home from home atmosphere. Week done Bruno and Maria! See you next year!

Super!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez Bruno. L'appartement est grand, bien situé, avec une superbe vue. Il est bien placé pour explorer le grand ouest de l'île, et faire de nombreuses randos. Bruno nous a beaucoup conseillé sur les levadas, et nous a fait profiter de son jardin!

Relaxing and well appointed accommodation

Although further away from Calheta than I thoiught ( that being down to my ignorance) the accommodation was great in all aspects. The best was the small grassed area and terrace - great views and very comfortable. Kitchen area well equipped, plenty of options about where to eat at the property, well furnished. Bruno and Maria were extremely attentive, without being over bearing. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a quiet retreat. Close enough for access to western areas of the island and the north coast too.

SEJOUR PARFAIT!!

A very beautiful place

Brunos Apartement is perfect for couples or small groups who wants to have relaxing days away from city trouble. Ignoring the always barking dogs in the valley (which seems to be everywhere in Madeira ;-) ) its perfect quiet and beautiful. Bruno was very nice and helpful when we needed his help.

A great place to stay

The apartment is beautifully clean and well equipped. It is a very good location for exploring the west side of Madeira as the beautiful high mountainous regions are just up (the very steep but easily drivable) road the house is on. A car is essential. Calheta also has a lovely man- made beach, which is the only place we found on the island where the sea was easily accessable; and I love to swim in the sea. The picture of the sunset is exactly as you'll see it from the pretty, small sheltered garden, which is a fantastic place to relax at any time of day.

Fantastic views

We had 3 weeks in Madeira from 9th to 31st December and loved the Country. We stayed in 3 different parts of the island. This was our last stop. The views were excellent from the property. Marie even came to meet us on the first day. The weather was great for walking so all in all excellent end to the overall holiday. I would just add that the apartment could do with being decorated as its looking tired in place but once this is achieved it will be a wonderful spot to enjoy Western Madeira. Bruno & Marie are lovely hosts who just leave you to enjoy your holiday but you know they are around if needed.

Sehr netter Vermieter, schöne Lage, mäßig Komfort

Bruno ist total nett und in allen Lagen hilfreich. Die Lage ist ruhig und ideal zum Start für Wanderungen. Ein Auto ist absolutes Muss! In der Wohnung ist alles, was man braucht, um Komfort vor allem im Bad muss man etwas Abstriche machen. Lediglich der Kleiderschrank ist muffig und war nicht wirklich benutzbar, lag aber möglicherweise auch an der feuchten Witterung im Herbst. War insgesamt eine sehr schöne Woche.

Vom Vermieter hängengelassen

Den warmen und freundlichen Worten aus der Emailkonversation ließ der Vermieter leider keine Taten folgen. Weder tauchte er zur verabredeten Zeit am verabredeten Ort auf noch war er telefonisch oder per Email erreichbar. Erst nach fünf Stunden - als der erste Urlaubstag schon längst durch die Unsicherheit und Suche nach einer Ersatzunterkunft verloren war - kontaktierte er uns. Mag ja sein, dass ihm das Handy auf einer Bergwanderung ins Wasser gefallen war. Aber warum genau wandert der Vermieter in den Bergen, wenn wir eine Verabredung hatten? Sein späteres Angebot, die Unterkunft als Schadenersatz gratis zu nutzen, schlugen wir mangels Vertrauen in seine Professionalität aus...

Unschlagbar!

Meine Freundin und ich waren eine Woche bei Bruno und seiner Familie und waren schwer begeistert - sowohl von der Wohnung, als auch von den Gastgebern, die sehr freundliche und offene Menschen sind. Die Wohnung selber entspricht der Beschreibung - Küche Top, Ausblick super und der Preis dafür echt günstig. Wir hatten eine schöne Woche hier inklusive kostenloser Jeeptour mit Bruno. Best host in Madeira!

Staying at Bruno´s and Maria´s apartment is just great. No way you can get a better host. We had a great stay in Bruno´s apartement. It is like being at home. Jack, the Maderian cockerspaniel (?) was visiting us almost every morning and wanted to be scratched. If not being scratched, he was gone in 10 seconds! We had some lovely dinners (barbecue) free to using various herbs from the garden. Just lovely! Bruno did really care for us, checked if alla was allright. His knowledge about levada hiking in Madeira must be hard to beat. We had a lovely week at Bruno´s place. We will come back. Thank you.

Schöner Aufenthalt

Wir haben hier zwei Wochen verbracht und waren sehr zufrieden. Die Wohnung ist geräumig und gut ausgestattet mit einer herrlichen Terrasse und einem super Ausblick. Bruno gibt viele Tipps und kümmert sich um seine Gäste. Wer einen authentischen Urlaub machen möchte, ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben. We`ve been here for two weeks and were totally satisfied. The apartment is spacious with all the things you need. It has a very nice patio with a great view over Calheta. Bruno will give you a lot of information about the island and takes care of everything. I can recommend this stay for everyone who wants to have an authentic holiday.

LOCATION ET SEJOUR TRES AGREABLE

Nous avons passé une dizaine de jours dans ce studio très confortable, d'une propreté impeccable et magnifiquement décoré avec une vue splendide. La terrasse verdoyante et fleurie où nous déjeunions tous les matins est un plus très appréciable. Bruno parle le français à la perfection ce qui est fort appréciable égalemement. Il nous a conseillé très gentiment pour nos randonnées et la découverte de son île. Plusieurs belles randonnées le long des levadas sont à proximité. Nous garderons un excellent souvenir de ces vacances et conseillons sans aucune hésitation cette location à tous ceux qui veulent profiter de vacances au calme et dans cadre magnifique.

Un excellent choix!!

Très bel appartement, parfaitement équipé (il y a même un ordinateur portable) et très grand (pour 2 personnes bien sur). Il est de plus idéalement situé vous visiter toute la partie ouest et le centre de Madère. Situé sur la petite route qui relie Calheta à Rabacal, il permet d'atteindre rapidement et très facilement les nombreuses randonnées aux alentours de Rabacal et Paul da Serra. Commerces également très proches en voiture. Enfin un très grand merci à Bruno, pour son accueil, sa gentillesse et ses conseils pour les randos. De quoi rendre le séjour encore plus agréable.

Fim de semana do dia dos namorados

Gostamos imenso de passar o fim de semana no apartamento, apesar do mau tempo que se fez sentir na ilha toda, conseguimos admirar a linda vista desde o jardim, muito boa escolha para descontrair e relaxar. É um espaço muito agradável e muito bem conseguido. Muito obrigado ao bruno pela sua hospitalidade. Será uma experiencia para repetir desta vez no verão para podermos desfrutar do jardim e da vista. De certeza que o por do sol deve ser algo a não perder.

A perfect space to relax and enjoy

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day stay with Bruno and were extremely sad to leave Madeira behind. Bruno was so helpful with all the planning of the surprise holiday for my Fiancé's 30th Birthday. The accommodation was a perfect home-from-home to retreat to and relax after exciting days exploring the island, and provided everything we could need. After our arrival Bruno shared some madeira wine with us and set us a fantastic itinerary for the week and also recommended a couple of nice spots to eat. Our favourite day was walking up to Pico Grande - not for the faint hearted! On our last day we enjoyed the thrilling Jeep ride and we always loved saying hello to Jack the lovely small dog.

Zimmer mit Ausblick

Das Apartment verfügt über eine sehr gut eingerichtete Küche und eine großartige Terrasse, auf der wir jeden Tag gegessen und die schöne Aussicht genossen haben. Das Zimmer ist viel größer als auf den Fotos ersichtlich. Daher war es kein Problem, zu dritt (mit Kind) darin zu wohnen. Bruno hatte uns freundlicherweise eine extra Matratze und Bettwäsche zur Verfügung gestellt (ohne Aufpreis!). Auch sonst hatten wir einen perfekten Gastgeber, der uns viele Tipps für Levada-Wanderungen gegeben und uns einen Abend sogar auf eine Jeep-Tour in die Berge mitgenommen hat. Wir können das Apartment nur empfehlen.

beautiful private accommodation

Eine von drei Wochen unseres Urlaubes auf Madeira verbrachten wir hier im Appartment Fontes. Wunderschön gelegen am Weinhang, mit Blick über Calheta bis zum Meer, eine komplett eingerichtete Küche, das großzügige Wohnzimmer mit Esstisch und Couch und tolle Terrasse mit Blumen und kleinem Teich, es gab einfach nichts zu bemängeln. Bruno und seine Frau waren stets um uns bemüht ohne aufdringelich zu sein und gaben uns reichlich Tipps und Empfehlungen für Wanderungen und Sehenswertes. Und auch Jack, Brunos kleiner Hund, war ein gerngesehner Gast auf unserer Terrasse. Die abschließende Jeeptour mit Bruno durch die Berge in der Umgebung war aufregend und informativ zugleich. Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit dort, vielen Dank nochmals und alles Gute! Dana & Sven

Séjour paradisiaque

Ce fut notre premier séjour (deux semaines) à Madère et certainement pas le dernier pour autant que Bruno mette toujours son studio en location, car nous ne désirons pas loger ailleurs. L'accueil est vraiment très chaleureux, nous nous sommes sentis comme à la maison. Le studio est très bien aménagé avec tout le confort, une vue magnifique, un service impeccable et nous avions la visite de Jack tous les matins dès que nous ouvrions la porte-fenêtre pour nous dire un petit bonjour sans s'imposer, un chien adorable. Que demander de plus ? Bruno nous a été de très bon conseil pour nous faire découvrir son île qu'il connaît à la perfection et indiquer les belles randonnées à effectuer. Nous remettrons cela l'année prochaine, sans faute pour saluer Bruno et sa petite famille. Christiane et Charly (Obaix, Belgique)

Ein unvergesslicher Urlaub!

Man kann sagen, dass meine Freundin und ich mit der Ferienwohnung Fontes und unseren Gastgebern auf jeden Fall einen Glückstreffer gelandet haben. Die Ferienwohnung ist genauso schön und gemütlich eingerichtet, wie es auf den Bildern zu sehen ist. Einen Eindruck, von der wunderschönen Aussicht, auf das Meer und den zum Haus gehörigen Weinberg können die Bilder leider nur begrenzt geben. Der Gastgeber Bruno ist sehr engagiert und freundlich und wir verstanden uns auf Anhieb gut mit ihm. Er beantwortete unsere Fragen in Bezug auf die Insel, beriet uns zu Wandertouren und lud uns am Abschiedsabend zu einem gemeinsamen Faniliengrillen ein. Die Ferienwohnung ist vor allem für Wanderer sehr zu empfehlen, da sie auf etwa 500m ü.M. in der Nähe einer sehr schönen Levada liegt und einen guten Einstiegspunkt für viele Wanderungen bietet. In Calheta gibt es zudem im Gegensatz zu den umliegenden Dörfern einen Supermarkt. Da wir bis auf die letzten 3 Tage ohne Auto auf der Insel unterwegs waren war dies sehr wichtig für uns. Ein weiterer Grund diese Wohnung zu wählen ist natürlich Jacku (Brunos Wolf) ;-D Wenn wir irgendwann wieder einmal diese Insel besuchen, werden wir definitiv wieder versuchen, diese Ferienwohnung zu bekommen. Alles in allem, ein unvergesslicher Urlaub! My girlfriend and I were very lucky to find the holiday apartment Fontes and such nice hosts. The apartment is as comfy and nicely done up as you can see in the pictures above. The wonderful view of the sea and the on-site vineyard can't be expressed by just a picture. You've got to see it on your own. Bruno is very kind and dedicated to make his guests feel good. He tried to answer all of our questions, advised us in terms of hiking tours and at the end of our journey, he invited us to join a family-barbecue. Especially hikers will love this apartment because it lies around 500m above the sea near a nice levada and you can start some very good tours from there. In contrast to the other villages around, calheta offers a supermarket, which was important to us, for most of the time we had no car. Last but not least, there is Jacku - the "Wannabe-Wolf" We'd ever pick this place again, if we return to Madeira one day. Altogether - it was an unforgettable journey!

Viel mehr als die Bilder versprechen!

Mein Mann und ich waren restlos begeistert: Unser Vermieter Bruno war ein wunderbarer Gastgeber, der diesen Namen wirklich verdient! Wir wurden superfreundlich aufgenommen - wir wurden mit tollen Wander-, Ausflugs- und Einkaufstipps unaufdringlich und direkt ins Geschehen auf der Insel eingeführt. Englischkenntnisse sind allerdings schon nötig. Das Studio war traumhaft klasse (die Bilder lügen nicht!!!) und wirklich liebevoll sowie reichhaltig ausgestattet - und dann der kleine Garten nur für uns!! Was für eine wunderbare Ruhe! Wir fanden es schön, mitten in einem einheimischen Wohngebiet und in keiner Ferienhaussiedlung zu sein. Auch wenn das Wetter nicht durchgehend gut war (November!, wir fühlten uns wohl und auf das Sonnigste aufgenommen. Was für ein Gastgeber! Wir kommen gerne gerne wieder. Diese Bewertung schreibe ich übrigens unaufgefordert - ist uns ein Bedürfnis. Und eine Freude! What a wonderful and beautiful place to relax! We were so happy and had everything we needed. Bruno was such a friendly host and gave us a lot of useful information and hints! Of course: we long to come back!

With all my years of experience working and dealing with people from all Nationalities I decided to put together some ideas and contrasts and come up with ‘House Fontes’. Knowing Madeira almost like the palm of my hands I decided to construct my house here in Calheta because of the easy going style of living, from being preserved from big masses and her rural aspect and surrounding sceneries and views.

As unique benefit you’ll be able to share and to be part of the rural way of living of this town surrounded with cultivated gardens and a vineyard to make the famous Madeira Wine just in front of the house. Our main host will be our dog called ‘Jakie’ who definitely will come to see you every morning and every afternoon in the garden. In our house you can profit from the swing on the front porch, the pond in the garden with the waterfall and if you like cooking I’ll be able to use the entire aromatic herbs you can from our garden. On the top of it we’re offering you a trip on a jeep through Eucalyptus and Mimosa forests and on the tracks where you’ll never dare to go with a normal car. Just be ready for some sense of adventure and leave the rest for us!
