Gîte des Milans es una joya escondida bellamente restaurada, ideal para familias y grupos de amigos.
La propiedad está decorada con un estándar muy alto, con características de diseño únicas y muebles de alta calidad para que la experiencia de vacaciones de nuestros huéspedes sea especial y lujosa.

Está situado en el extremo sur del Aveyron que bordea el Tarn. El área es uno de los secretos mejor guardados de Francia; todo lo que Francia tiene para ofrecer sin las multitudes. Venga y disfrute de caminatas, ciclismo, escalada, piragüismo, observación de aves, degustación de vinos o simplemente relajarse en la piscina.
El Gîte en sí es un espacioso granero del siglo XIX que fue restaurado en 2016 y diseñado para capitalizar su espacio y situación, utilizando una mezcla de materiales modernos, elementos de granero reciclados y muebles clásicos.
La gran sala de estar y la cocina se encuentran en el primer piso y ha conservado sus maderas expuestas y paredes de piedra, al tiempo que agrega luces de techo Velux y ventanas adicionales para disfrutar de la luz y las vistas de largo alcance. Desde el Living Space también hay acceso directo a una terraza en la azotea, que goza de una vista del sur oeste hacia los Pirineos, lo que brinda oportunidades ideales para largas cenas al aire libre y hermosas puestas de sol.
Hay 4 habitaciones grandes en la planta baja, todas con baño privado y duchas con baño húmedo. Los 2 dormitorios principales tienen ventanas correderas que se abren al jardín.
Hay un gran jardín con un área de juegos para niños pequeños, y muchos árboles y áreas con sombra para barbacoas al mediodía o hamacas suaves.
La piscina, bordeada de fragante lavanda, se asienta sobre el paisaje y también ofrece vistas largas e ininterrumpidas desde las tumbonas.

El área ofrece oportunidades para todos los placeres de Francia:
- Los clásicos pueblos bastida de Najac y Cordes-sur-Ciel
- Cata de vinos en Gaillac o Cahors
- Mercados en abundancia, incluidos los mercados nocturnos donde los visitantes pueden comprar su comida y vino y comer en un ambiente agradable.
- Canotaje y escalada a solo 15 minutos de la casa rural
- Hermoso río nadando justo bajando la calle

En la casa rural tenemos una pequeña selección de bicicletas híbridas y de montaña, y brindamos consejos sobre buenas rutas de ciclismo o caminata desde la casa rural, dependiendo de la longitud y las habilidades.
Richard y Anna, los propietarios, viven en la propiedad vecina y están disponibles si es necesario para brindar asesoramiento sobre recorridos, caminatas, actividades. Todas las instalaciones son para uso exclusivo de los huéspedes del Gîte des Milans.

Beautiful gite from spectacular barn conversion. Stunning views over pastoral landscape. Richard and Anna helpful yet unintrusive - they are very happy to provide tips on visiting local sites and restaurants but keep themselves to themselves. Fully recommend this gite.

This is NOT your average Gites

Richard and Anna are definitely 5* hosts, helpful, courteous and there when you need them. The property itself is spectacular, and to repeat the comments of others, the pictures do not do it justice. Sitting on the terrace watching the sunset with a glass of local wine (selected by our hosts at very reasonable prices) is a moment unto itself, the colours slowly changing and the village in the distance turning from grey to dark to twinkling lights is a memory which is embedded in our minds. The property itself is obviously designed from conception to be functional, and welcoming and the addition of the interesting furnishings and decor just add to the enjoyment of being there. This is not your average gites this is almost like your home away from home. We were never far from beautiful, quaint villages that delighted the eye and challenged my driving (larger car, smaller streets). A visit to a local market is always a delight and those in this area never disappointed, especially the one in Villefranche-de-Rouergue where we entranced by some of the characters and their market stalls. We hope to have the opportunity to return in future years and experience this relaxing, get away from it all place. Richard and Anna, thank you.

Magnifique grange restaurée avec goût dans un endroit calme.

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans la grange de Richard et Anne qui sont des hôtes très accueillants, et très discrets. La grange est spacieuse, restaurée avec beaucoup de goût et a une âme particulière; on s'y sent tout de suite à l'aise et chez soi. Les conseils de Richard sont précieux et permettent de découvrir la région en voiture, à pied ou à vélo (vélos qui sont mis à la disposition des locataires). Les hôtes vivent dans la maison attenante à la grange mais restent discrets. La piscine est uniquement à l'usage des locataires. Je recommande vivement.

Bor et Bar - highly recommended

We stayed for a week at gite les Milan’s. Communication with the host Richard was excellent. The property itself is magnificent with lots of special touches - wine to try in a wine rack with notes, and lots of information about things to do in the area. The terrace with the view of the sun setting over the bucolic landscape every evening was also a special treat. I highly recommend this Gite

Vacances au calme en famille

Excellent séjour dans cette magnifique grange, très bien rénovée avec beaucoup de goût. Elle est très bien équipée. Il ne nous manquait rien, même pour notre enfant de 16 mois tout était sur place (chaise haute, lit à barreaux, jeux, couverts, matelas à langer). Nous avons utilisés les VTT, le barbecue Les propriétaires sont charmants et très discrets.

Confortable, reposant

Notre séjour a Bor et Bar était très agréable, la grange est arrangée avec goût et confort. La vue est absolument magnifique et la situation du gîte permet de rayonner assez rapidement (1/2h environ) pour un certain nombre d'activités (cheval, canoë kayak, grotte, forteresse royale...). Les propriétaires sont agréables, présents avec discrétion. Accueil de bon niveau avec de gentilles attentions. Un seul conseil : réservez !

Kind hospitality, amazing location - a fantastic holiday!

We were at Gites Des Milan for 3 weeks with various family members and our little girl's first holiday and it was everything we could have asked for. Right from the start Richard and Anna made us feel welcome, gave us great recommendations and even helped with a birthday meal for my husband! The view from the terrace is incredible and many happy evenings were spent watching the beautiful sunsets with a few glasses of wine! The house itself is stunning and finished to an incredibly high standard. We visited various towns and villages including Najac and Albi, enjoying markets and castles, as well as a lovely time by the river and (short) walks through beautiful countryside just by the gites. We didn't know much about the area, but will be coming back as there is something for everyone! A really special holiday in a really special place - thank you Richard and Anna!

A truly magical and tranquil retreat with family and friends

Our three week stay at Gite des Milans was absolutely, 100% incredible! Filled with simple luxuries and numerous small adventures, our family stay ( a group of 7, including four teenage children and friends) was highlighted by the elegant, spacious accommodations of the Gite, the incredible friendliness of our hosts, and the allure of the astounding French countryside, filled with small villages and hidden gems which our hosts, Richard and Anna helped us uncover. As many before us have said, 'the pictures, while stunning, don't even begin to capture the Gite's beauty and charm! We visited a nearby creperie on the River Viaur after swimming in said river, a local pub in St. Andre de Najac, attended local markets and festivals and basked in the incredible sunshine on our private terrace overlooking miles and miles of hayfields and rural countryside. Daily, we swam in the Gite's pool and enjoyed the cool, refreshing water. We loved cooking in the extremely well-equipped kitchen and sampling the local wines carefully selected by our hosts. We were so taken by our experience that we have already booked three weeks for next year. It was truly one of the most, if not the most, relaxing and purely enjoyable vacations we have ever had! Kudos to Richard and Anna! The Gite des Milans is one of the most amazing places we have every stayed.! Thank you and get in line!

Rest, play and rejuvinate in beautiful surroundings

We spent a wonderful week here this summer - two families with 3 teenagers and two children aged 7 and 11. As mentioned in other reviews, the pictures online really don't capture just how impressive this place is. Upstairs, the open plan living/dining/lounge is a beautifully designed double height room that takes full advantage of the amazing views. Downstairs, all the bedrooms have their own large bathrooms and are linked by a large hallway lined with bookcases and antique chairs. There is also a huge utility room where you can wash and dry clothes, and has useful things like a hairdryer and iron. The pool is set into the hillside. With ample loungers set around the patio and looking out over the valley, it is difficult to drag yourself away. The pool is slightly smaller than the standard size and it doesn't have a shallow end - a consideration if you have small children. There is a clever pool alarm in place for peace of mind. There is also a small play area with swings and slides for the little ones. Our youngest loved ambling around the field, finding bugs and lizards. The Gites layout is perfect for a large group - big airy spaces with long tables and comfy sofas when you want to spend time together, but also enough rooms and terraces to spend quieter time apart. For me, a number of things set this place apart. Firstly, the thoughtful and stylish finishing touches. From the vases of wild flowers and local antiques dotted around - to the musical instruments (complete with songbooks) and the rack of tried and tested wines from local vineyards, this Gite has the feel of a much loved home rather than a holiday rental. Then there are the views. Whether you are sitting by the pool, in the garden, or on the lovely rooftop terrace - all you can see (and hear) are the hills rolling down into the valley, wildflowers, forests and swooping swallows. By night, sitting on the candlelit terrace, the stars seem to curve around you. It really is impossible not to relax here, you can literally feel yourself unwind. And lastly there is Richard and Anna, who were the perfect hosts. Always responsive and helpful prior to the holiday, once we arrived they shared their local knowledge over a bottle of wine, recommended cycle routes, lent their bikes, and booked restaurants - while managing to maintain an impressive level of invisibility when not needed! They are wholly deserving of their rave reviews, and we wish them every success in the future.

Fantastique séjour avec famille et amis !

Magnifique lieu, au calme, très bien situé pour découvrir l'Aveyron et ses jolis villages alentours. Nous avons passé une tres agréable semaine dans cette belle grange fin juillet avec des amis et nos jeunes enfants. La rénovation de cette grange par Richard et Anna est très réussie, réalisée avec des materiaux de qualité, tout en conservant le charme du lieu. Tout y est très confortable : literie, salles de bains, volumes des pièces... (Seule une des 4 chambres est sans fenêtre, adaptée pour des enfants, moins bien pour des adultes). La piscine au calme et la terrasse plein ouest permettent de profiter de fins d'après-midi avec des couchers de soleil somptueux. Richard et Anna sont des hôtes vraiment très gentils et serviables, pleins de petites attentions pour leurs locataires. On se souviendra longtemps de cette belle semaine passée au Gîte des Milans. On y retournerait dès demain !

Amazing gite, fantastic hosts

This gite is even better than the pictures! It’s absolutely beautiful and fully equipped with everything you could need. It sits on the top of a hill with fantastic views and beautiful sunsets. It’s in a great location for exploring the area and there’s a good Intermarche plus bakeries, butchers etc close by. The hosts, Richard and Anna, are lovely and have thought of every little detail. They even provide a wine rack filled with a selection of excellent local wines (all around €5) - much better than some of the ones we tried from the Intermarche. Although they live next door they are helpful without ever being intrusive and had lots of excellent suggestions for eating out and things to do. We went canoeing and swimming in the Viaur, had dinner at the night market at Najac and visited Cordes-sur-Ciel and Albi. On the days we didn’t want to go anywhere, we were very happy relaxing by the pool and eating long lunches on the rooftop terrace. Huge thanks to Richard and Anna for making our week in the gite so enjoyable. I hope we come back again in the future!

Choix réussi !

Rénovation de grande qualité, spacieuse et bien agencée, confort assuré pour nous huit, cadre et exposition solaire très agréable. Propriétaires très sympathiques. Région offrant de multiples visites de petites villes pittoresques. Rivières pour se baigner et pratiquer kayak. Nous avons vraiment passé une très bonne semaine dans cette location dont le prix me semble adapté. Avons même préféré profiter de cette maison le dernier soir plutôt que d'aller au restaurant. Sans doute, le beau temps a renforcé mon appréciation positive.

Beautifully presented rural retreat

Our stay in this immaculate accommodation was made effortless and comfortable by our fantastic hosts Richard and Anna. From our first contact they were welcoming and helpful and this was our experience throughout our stay. The recently renovated property is finished to a very high standard and tastefully and sympathetically decorated. It was a privilege to stay there. The spacious accommodation looks out over the rolling hills and the only background noise is of the local farmers going about their days work in the distance and the laughter from users of the lovely swimming pool. The generosity of the hosts is evident in all provided from linen, towels and furnishings to supplies to get us going including a very large bottle of rose! The surrounding area has lots of activities and is interesting to explore with many pretty villages and château however a word of caution. ..check places are open for business as the hours of some restaurants were restricted. We thoroughly enjoyed our week and would highly recommend the property and Richard and Anna as superb hosts. We wish them well with their amazing place.

Plein de jolis souvenirs d'une maison si ravissante, spatieuse et confortable, de paysages dignes de tableaux, de soirées sous les arbres et autour de la piscine, et de tant de beaux sites à visiter aux alentours. A wonderful place and fantastic hosts

It's hard to describe just how wonderful Gîte des Milans is. Richard and Anna have created a very special place, peaceful and uplifting. The restoration was done with generosity and integrity, creating somewhere which makes you feel good to be alive. Just being there is a joy and the area around it is full of treasures - great hikes around the Viaur gorge, the fortress at Najac, the square at Villefranche de Rouergue and the Soulanges museum at Rodez. A week was not enough!

Superb. Book immediately!

This place is superb. The conversion is so sympathetic to the original building and its features and it makes you feel good simply to be there. The furniture and accessories have all been chosen with flair and careful thought for the holidaymaker. The amenities are all excellent and the surrounding area peaceful and verdant. I would recommend it to anyone for a holiday and would certainly go back myself. - Anna

We met at University studying French (Richard even visited the Aveyron back then when he was meant to be studying in Toulouse) and then when our eldest children were quite young we lived and worked on the Cote d'Azur for a few years before returning to the UK, so we have a long running love affair with France.
Having decided to make a break from our life in Southern England, we bought this place and live in the old farmhouse adjacent to the barn which we have lovingly restored to create a beautiful holiday home.

Our criteria when we were searching were, beautiful views, South/South West Facing, house + barn with plenty of space, and rural but not too remote. And we have ticked all those boxes.
The two Master bedrooms situated on the ground floor, each have picture windows opening on to the garden, offering long reaching views across the countryside .
Guests can choose whether to eat and enjoy the views from the covered terrace, or take their drinks and food to the terrace in the dappled shade of the trees alongside the barn.

We have lovingly built this holiday home blending old a new materials and furniture, gathered and collected over the years. With Underfloor heating, woodburning stove and solar panels, blended with huge oak beams, and antique furniture, the big space becomes cosy and homely even for the biggest groups.
In the same way the area, sitting at the Southern end of the Aveyron, bordering the Tarn, and Tarn et Garonne blends the rural and the wild with the culture and wealth of the wine growing areas bordering Gaillac and Albi.
