The house was absolutely spotless and charming, and the location was close to many restaurants, a bakery, and the port lodges we visited. Clara was the best host I’ve had—great communication, flexible, full of recommendations, super quick to respond to questions, and very gracious. She is also an artist! Look for her beautiful paintings in the home. Thank you, Clara, for making us feel so welcome.

Clara is a wonderful host! She welcomed us with cake and port, gave us excellent recommendations, and was very responsive. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. The decor is beautiful. It’s an easy walk downhill to the center of town and a bakery, coffee shop, and market are around the corner. Two in our party are birders and they were birdwatching from the upstairs Juliet balcony. I hope we can return!

First off. Clara is a super host. She is so helpful and accommodating. The apartment is in such a great location in Vila da Gaia and its a short walk down to the river or to the port houses, but it is not in a touristy location at all. There is a stellar padaria around the corner for your morning coffee treats and daily bread. The apartment is roomy and the upper floor skylight view is idyllic and iconic. All the essentials are included and we were very comfortable. Again, Clara, thanks for everything. We loved it!

Fabulous stay in Porto

An excellent location for a stay in Porto. The host was extremely helpful and responsive. We were welcomed to her home with a fresh baked cake and some Port. We will look to stay here again for our next trip to Porto.

Authentic and Charming Home

We stayed in this property which is just on the south side of the Douro river and across from Porto. It was a charming rental in a very authentic Portuguese neighborhood. Clara, the house owner, was very communicative and helpful in every aspect of our trip. We'd definitely recommend a stay here!

Incredible hospitality

Clara's stone house is beautifully decorated in her wonderful whimsical style and had everything we needed for a fantastic 3 days. But most important Clara went out of her way to share her knowledge of the area, book a table for us at the Fada restaurant, meet us in person with cake and Port and in a warm and hospitable way make sure our needs were met.

Perfect Spot

Clara was very lovely! She met us at the home with an apple cake and port. The home was lovely and very clean with beautiful views. It is not in downtown Porto which was nice, and there were plenty of restaurants nearby.

Incredible experience in Porto!

What an excellent location for our stay in Porto. The host was extremely helpful and responsive. She made sure that we were taken care of during our trip. Not just in the beginning when she greeted us with port and cake but throughout our trip. With this being the kids first international trip, this was very helpful even if we didn't need anything at the time. We would stay here again and again if we are in the area again. Thanks for the best porto experience, cheers!

Loved our stay in Porto!

Property is great and as advertised. Host was awesome and very accomodating. I would only add that this is in Gaia and a bit of a walk to Porto. It was not a big deal for us and it’s still very nice. But, it could be something to consider for some people. We would defiantly stay here again if ever back in the area.

Lovely oasis

The apartment was so charming and fit my family of 4 perfectly. Clara was an amazing host and gave us a lot of great recommendations and helped us book an beautiful tour of the Douro valley - a must see! 10/10 would recommend staying here if you are looking to be within walking distance of everything, but quiet enough and away from the tourists. Thanks again Clara for such a nice stay and wonderful lifetime memories!

Clara’s property was perfect. It was filled with rustic charm . She had obviously put great effort into making sure that guests who stayed, would be comfortable ; great attention to detail . Great Host!

We had a great stay at Clara's home. Clara was amazing with communication! She was able to give suggestions on so many things in the area! She even booked a Douro Valley tour for us and had a gluten free cake waiting for us when we arrived. The home is very full of character and is decorated so nicely. From this location we were able to go on day trips to Douro Valley and Aveiro and also explored Porto.

Their clear and polite communication made it easy for them to respond to your needs, which made my vacation not only easier, but also very enjoyable. The way you took care of the facilities, respecting the interior layout and keeping the spaces correct and organized, is an example of consideration and responsibility. What's more, your kindness and good humor brought you closer to me, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and good understanding. Our stay at Clara’s home was nothing short of exceptional, far beyond 5 stars! From the moment we arrived, she greeted us with genuine warmth, gave us a thoughtful house tour, and even surprised us with a delicious homemade cake and a bottle of port wine.Clara went above and beyond as a host throughout our stay. She arranged a fantastic walking tour for us and even helped us communicate with the guide when our Uber made us late. She also secured dinner reservations at a hidden gem of a fado restaurant that we would have never found on our own which was an unforgettable highlight of our trip.Her hospitality, attention to detail, and personal touches made us feel so welcome and cared for. We’ve stayed in many rentals, but Clara truly sets the gold standard for hosting. We would return in a heartbeat and recommend her place to anyone looking for an extraordinary stay.
