2-Bedroom Oceanfront Condo with great views!

We booked this location for a last minute getaway to the beach. It is conveniently located and easy to access from the main OCMD drag. It has 2-bedrooms, and 2-full bathrooms with a balcony off the living room overlooking the oceanfront. Overall, the condo met our expectations, however, it was not as nice as other condos we have rented in the same building previously. The master bedroom provides an amazing view of the oceanfront, but the bed (mattress speficially) really needs to be replaced. It was so uncomfortable that my husband, and I ended up using the bed in the spare bedroom with no views, simply because it was slightly better than the alternative (would recommend replacing both mattresses). Some of the applicances could use an upgrade as well in the kitchen as they seem pretty outdated. Otherwise, this location was everything we needed for a quick trip to take a break from it all.

Great location, condo and host lacking

Golden Sands is great location; however condo is rundown and host is unresponsive. Had to buy our own sheets. Would have been nice to know that water in hotel had health warning about the water in the hotel and several people had gotten pneumonia from it before we showed up.

Outdated and unfriendly

The management that runs this condominium is not very nice or helpful. It is very outdated and run down. Our condo was in need to be updated.

Beautiful veiws

The condo I stayed in had an absolutely beautiful oceanfront veiw. It was super convenient to get to and from the beach. There are even little shops (deli, bakery, ice cream, etc.) Right on the premises. Indoor and outdoor pools. Including out door spa and sauna rooms in the locker rooms on the 22nd floor. It's very easier to find of the main drag. It was an easy check in process, but never received all my information in the email. And check out was not communicated clearly. Also there were certain things in the particular condo unit I was in that were displeasing.

Very disappointed

We were disappointed in the condo. It had a horrible smell that we couldn't get rid of the beds are so old and uncomfortable, it was very out dated except the bathrooms. The coffee pot had mold in it, the dishes and cooking wear didnt match and there was no big bowels or anything too put leftovers in. There were spider webs in the corner and the refrigerator was rusted. The wall boarder was pealing.

Flash back to the 70’s

Everything in this unit is pretty outdated with the exception of the bathrooms. If you plan on staying here plan on bringing air mattresses and pillows because they bed are really bad. There was also a musky smell in the room. Also, the parking spot for this unit would barely fit a motorcycle let alone a standard car…We tried to swap the spot with Golden Sands and Vacasa with no luck even with only half the parking taken up. Such poor customer service. While the location and bathrooms were nice I wouldn’t recommend this unit.

What a shame...

We love the golden sands condominium- however if this was my first time here I would never go back. The air did not work - the kitchen utensils and appliances are older than me. All patio furniture is rusted, to the point you may need a tetanus shot. And the screen doors to the patio were off the track when we got there. The only thing That saved this vaca was the view and the fact that I had friends in other units that were great and hung out there most of the week If this was my first time ever in this condo I wouldn’t ever go back

Excellent views, easy check-in, but horrible beds...

We absolutely loved the location and have stayed in other condos in the same building. The deck was great, and the condo had the room we needed for our family. However, the beds were the worse we have ever slept on when traveling and using Vacasa in the DelMarVa. We were unable to enjoy the Oceanview from the master bedroom because the bed is beyond worn to the point that it caused both my husband, and I back pain, and we barely slept. The bed in the secondary room is ok at best solely based on comparison of the bed in the master bedroom. We encountered a few other issues such as the wifi code provided was not correct, the code did not include which characters should be capitalized and we had to figure it out on our own by guessing until it worked. We attempted to reach out to both the property owners, and Vacasa, and both said that the code provided was accurate. We then informed Vacasa of the error and hope they have updated that for future guests. The appliances could use updating as well. Most of the items appears seem to be over 20 years old. We opt to stay in locations such as this because we prefer to cook. Unfortunately, this location was lacking in appliance functionality, and kitchen cookware (some cookware was broken and unusable). We think if the owners would replace the bedding, update some of the small cost appliances, and provide some non-broken kitchen amenities - this would be a stellar rental. Other than the issues previously mentioned, we enjoyed the stay, but will look into other condo options in the future when we come back.

NOT A BAD STAY BUT SOME THINGS COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER!!

The room we had wasn’t that bad. I’m not a super picky person but I would expect the room to be cleaned to were you couldn’t tell the last group of people stayed there, unfortunately, this was not the case. There was strands of someone else’s hair on the night stands. The carpets had remnants (earring backs, safety pins, foil seal from whatever & more) of whoever was there before us. The master bedroom had cob-webs above the drapes. The drapes looked like they haven’t been taken down & cleaned since they put them up. Pots & pans had no matching lids, in fact, there were only 2 lids. I cooked one night & had to use 2 small pans but the only big pan had a bubble in the middle of the metal, therefore, all the food went to one side or split of on both sides. No baking sheets. Dishes had to be washed before we could use them. Wall paper was peeling a little bit in master bedroom. The building is older so it’s about time to update it. We paid a pretty decent for our stay. They accommodated us with a “starter kit” (dish soap, toilet paper,etc) which was nice. We liked that it was quiet. We stayed at the end of the season and the weather was still beautiful.

Great location but otherwise a miss.

The location was fantastic but that was the only good thing. We stayed for a weekend and upon arrival, they did not tell me that the parking space they have provided is TINY. After trying and trying, we finally got my mini van in the spot, only to see that we couldn't open the doors or get out. So, no parking spot for the weekend. When we got up to the room, the bathroom doors were locked. We literally picked them open with a hairpin. There was no toilet paper in the one bathroom and only 1 roll in the other. I called multiple times, never received any toilet paper. They knew that 6 of us were going to be there. There were only 4 towels there. I called twice to ask for towels and received them late in the evening on the last night I was going to be there. There were no pillow cases for the pull-out sofa bed. I was told that there was Wifi. There isn't. There isn't even Wifi to purchase and you can't pull up Netflix or anything on the tv. The place could really use a face-lift. The wallpaper is peeling at multiple places and the shower leaks really bad and the front door isn't tight and seems like it barely locks. Again, it was great for what we needed it for... the location is fantastic but otherwise the communication is pretty bad and there are lots of things they aren't up front with you about.

Great owner!

The Vacassa management forgot to let the owner know we booked the rental for 5 days. But luckily we arrived early and let him know we were staying there and he was very nice and informative, and he personally cleaned the condo, and then still had the vacassa management clean it again the next day! We were able to start settling in around 6:30pm so not to bad. Very pretty place with amazing views!

Worst condo

The view was wonderful. Good thing since the view inside contained ripped wallpaper, black mold and outdated, uncomfortable furniture. The kitchen was poorly stocked (not even a potholder) and any dish we used had to be washed first. There were also bugs. This place is equipped like a crash pad for spring break but it is billed as a family condo. Worst VRBO property we have ever stayed in. We reported it (including a screen that fell over) and have gotten no response.

Short Vacation

The property closets full of old stuff that can not be used anymore, kitchen cabinets are broken, furnitures are outdated, needs a new carpet. We used one bed which comfortable and clean. The gym , the swimming pool very well maintained .Location is great. Can not recommend this place.

Do not recommend

My husband and I decided to give it a try, even though the reviews weren't that great. The view and location were wonderful, but that is about all. None of the complaints in the reviews have been addressed! When we got there the shower head leaked out the side (which must have been going on for a while because there is black mold on the door frame where the water hits). On the second day the shower head broke off completely, called Vacasa twice, was never fixed so we showered with a full blast stream straight from the wall. Garbage disposal does not work. There is a missing toilet paper roll holder in one of the bathrooms.. Make sure to take hand soap, toilet paper, garbage bags. Overall we made the best of it, but I do not recommend booking here and we would not stay here again.

The accommodation was not that nice. The shower was disgusting and the shower head leaked. The kitchen had awful pots and pans and no cutting board supplied. The kitchen drawers were terrible to open and silverware not even a complete set! Air conditioning did not work well . I would not recommend this unit to anyone.

Great View and Nice Property

The downside was that we never received the door code for entry into the unit before we arrived, had to call Vacasa to obtain code for the entry door. Upside: The view was great, Golden Sands was really nice, security desk/check in desk was very helpful and friendly. Parking was great but remember off season so it was open parking. Unit was clean and well stocked except the pots and pans could really be updated they are old and some not useable or I wouldn't use them. Great location, Great view from living room and master bedroom. Floor to Ceiling windows in master bedroom a real plus, also sliding glass door from master bedroom to balcony, plus sliding glass door to balcony from living room. Washer and dryer a plus. Both are older but worked. Would definitely stay in this unit again!!!
