Masterpiece Retreat: un retiro corporativo / familiar, a solo 3-5 minutos de Strip / Airport

This house does NOT have a cockroach and bug problem. We would not have 70 five star reviews if there was a bug problem. This is a half-acre property with open desert across the street, and many large trees on the property. If you are familiar with Las Vegas and desert properties, you know some bugs are unavoidable. We call them “water bugs” as opposed to cockroaches that live in the kitchen. We have a monthly bug service to control them. The property was sprayed right before these guests arrived. It is important to note that all the bugs reported were near the outside entrances (the bathroom near the pool, and the living room near the front door). No insects were found in the kitchen or any of the bedrooms. We always do a walkthrough with the guests at check-in to make sure everything is perfect, and no bugs were seen, or mentioned. When we received a phone call about dead insects, we were mortified! We offered to immediately come back and clean, or have our cleaning crew come back, but these guests were not interested in cleaning. We even offered a full refund so they could find somewhere else to stay, but they declined that as well. It seems the only thing to make them happy was money, so we did refund part of their fee and they still left a misleading review saying there was a bug problem when all bugs were dead and near the entrances. Also, we do talk to potential guests prior to booking to make sure they are a good fit for this property. Otherwise, people take advantage and host large parties and destroy things. These particular guests did not disclose that they were coming to party at the EDC festival. This is a high end property with nice furniture and fine art and we are careful to make sure it is taken care of. People have lied in the past and show up with far more guests in their group than disclosed to avoid extra fees, so we meet them in person, do a walk through and get a final list of everyone staying there. It is also important to note that not only, did we give these guests a refund, we gave them early check in and late checkout at no extra charge. Again, we are sorry they were unhappy with their stay, but it is bad faith to refuse remediation of a problem, accept a refund, wait until receiving the refund, then post a misleading review.
