Wonderful Villa

This was a very spacious villa with a wonderful patio looking out at a great view. Right below Montovun medieval hill top town. Just a block a way was a winery where you could sit out side and have a glass of wine or take a bottle back to the villa. There was a nice little grocery store across the street. It was easy access to roads that would take you to other hill top towns or the coast. Just a wonderful location! I really enjoyed my stay here.

SENCILLAMENTE MARAVILLOSA

Todo en la casa es perfecto: la luz, la amplitud, los olores, la extraordinaria amabilidad de Bárbara. En el momento que llegamos ya nos sentíamos como en casa, creo que no hay nada mejor que pueda decir.

Tolles Appartment in wunderschöner Umgebung. Great Appartement in splendid surrounding

Die Wohnung ist herrlich gelegen und selbst an heißen Sommertagen war es angenehm kühl. Die Fotos sprechen für sich und es sieht wirklich so aus! :-) Die Einrichtung ist vollständig und stilvoll. Die Vermieter haben wirklich an alles gedacht. Auch sonst sind sie sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und bei jeder Frage hilfsbereit. Es war wirklich sehr schön. The appartment is gorgeous. It is absolutely durable and even quite cool on the hottest summer days.The interior is complete and stylish. The view is astonishing; the mornings and the evenings enchanted us with their special mood. The landlords are taking care of everything and are very friendly. The helped us with all our questions. It was really really nice!

Traumhafter Blick und Komfort

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt ohne Einschraenkungen genossen. Sehr nette Vermieter. Zentrale Lage und trotzdem ruhig mit traumhaften Blick und Privatsphaere. Die grosse hohen Raeume und dicken Waende der alten Villa sorgen fuer angenehme Temperaturen trotz Sommerhitze. Die Wohnung ist vollstaendig eingerichtet mi allem was man sich vorstellen kann (ausser Microwelle) einschliesslich Gewuerzen, Olivenoel und Waschmittel. Fuer den Beginn waren sogar ein paar Getraenke und Knabbersachen bereitgestellt. Das absolute Highlight ist die Terasse und die ueberdachte Veranda mit Feuerstelle.Es gibt jede Menge Ausflugsmoeglichkeien zu Fuss, zu Fahrrad oder Auto und viele gute Restaurants. Die Trueffelbegeisterung kann ich nicht teilen, es gibt aber viele andere gute Speisen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

A fantastic property in a great location!

We stayed at this property for four nights in the early summer and was very pleased. The location is great for exploring Istria-- while it is at the bottom of the hill which Motovun sits on, you can either walk up the hill to the town or take a bus which goes up the hill from across the street. Check-in was a breeze and our hosts were great. We would stay here again!

Just perfect!

We, a couple from Germany (43 and 38), spent eleven nights in this wonderful apartment in Motovun and simply loved it! The appartment is well-furnished, the terrace even more beautiful than on the photos and the location is just perfect! Not only is the house beautifully situated but also in easy reach to every other spot in Istria. Last but not least, there were Barbara and Andrej, who were not only wondeful hosts (at our arrival, we found two bottles of wine in our fridge) but gave us great advice where to eat, where to hike or where to bike. Unfortunately, there was not enough time to do everything they suggested (the truffle hunt!) and we definitely want to see more of this beautiful area, so we are already planning to come back one day ...

Lovely apartment in a perfect location

We stayed in the ground floor apartment which was exactly as described. Very well equipped and spacious and tastefully decorated.The kitchen has modern appliances - hob, cooker and dishwasher - and a huge fridge. The terrace and gardens are beautiful and it was a real pleasure to eat out and to sit on the terrace with a glass of wine, enjoying the view. Barbara was welcoming and helpful. She gave us information about places to visit and even suggested some good restaurants at our next stop near Opatija! Barbara provided a thoughtful selection of store cupboard items eg coffee, tea and sugar. Most welcome was oil, vinegar and dried seasonings - saved us buying a whole bottle of oil for just one or two meals! The apartment is perfectly located for trips to all the coastal towns - we especially enjoyed Porec - and the lovely hilltowns of Buzet and Roc. Motovun is beautiful and has plenty of bars and restaurants. However, the walk up to the top is very steep - we only attempted it once and then resorted to the car for further visits!! Thank you Barbara for a wonderful stay. We will definitely choose this apartment next time we visit Istria and have no hesitation in recommending it to our friends and family.

Rustic Charm with Modern-Day Conveniences!

Fantastic apartment with gorgeous gardens and wonderful views of the Istrian countryside. Location: The apartment is located at the base of Motovun and it is only a short (although uphill), scenic walk up to the old town. There is a bank and a convenience store with bread, fruit, and snacks located directly across the street. The Parenzana bike trail runs right next to the apartment and you can rent bikes directly from Barbara and her husband, who in addition to owning the apartment are owners of the Istrian tour company, montonatours.com. Barbara is incredibly knowledgable about the area and is more than willing to help you figure out where to eat and what to see and do while visiting Motovun. The Apartment The apartment has all of the charms of the old world, but has been very thoughtfully renovated to include all of the necessary modern-day conveniences such as...Wifi, a refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, stove, washing machine, etc. The apartment has everything that you could possibly need and more. Three of us stayed in the apartment and were very comfortable in the two bedrooms (one of the bedrooms is also a sitting room). The apartment is very quiet and and has a lovely, private outdoor sitting area with a grill. Recommended Things to See/Do: - Rent bikes and ride the Parenzana trial - Visit other hill towns and seaside towns, especially Groznjian and Rovinj - Eat a delicious meal full of truffles at Pod Napun in Motovun (better food and view than Konoba Mondo) I highly recommend this apartment to others!!

Charming apartment in the hills of Motovun

A perfect location, well tended and equipped, in calm, green surroundings. Barbara is very welcoming and helpful. With the apartment comes a covered terrasse and a little garden, perfect for relaxing outdoors. Beaches near Novigrad in easy reach (15 min. by car) as well as pittoresque villages in green Istria, like Groznjan. This was our 3rd stay and we will be back!

Gorgeous place for the perfect European vacation

A spacious, clean apartment with a beautiful courtyard and gardens in an idyllic location. Barbara and her husband are hospitable and gracious. From this adorable location we were able to easily venture out for site-seeing around the entire Istria region - to Pula, Porec, Rovinj, and of course, to Motovun. Looking back on it now, my only regret is that we could not stay longer to get acquainted with Barbara's family, and to spend more time in this divine setting. As noted, there is a bank machine and a little shop directly across the street for all conveniences. And cafes and a bigger supermarket are just a short drive away. It would have been a steep walk up to the castle, so we drove a couple minutes to get to the top, and it was worth it! Some day we will return to Istria, and I would definitely stay at Barbara's again!

Apartment near Motovun

The apartment was spacious, sparklingly clean and well stocked. We especially appreciated the dishwasher and the supply of fresh coffee and tea. The view from the terrace was spectacular. The furnishing was a little austere and the lighting not brilliant in the living room and the orange net curtains not to our taste but this is not so important when you are out and about most of the time. The location is convenient for the old town of Motovon and for touring. The main road can be a little noisy at times. Barbara and her husband could not have been more helpful with information and assistance.

An excellent choice

We liked this apartment a lot. Very well furnished and equipped, centrally located, with a beautiful terrace and garden. Mrs. Barbara was most helpful whenever we had a question. I would recommend this apartment for everyone who would like to spend a holiday exploring the beauties of Istria and still be able to relax.

Excellent!!!

This wasn't the first time we have been to Istria, in fact central Istria, but definitely was the best time in Istria in Motovun. The views from the apartment well the only word I think describes them as beautiful, we went out there to have a proper relaxing holidays, so wanted somewhere quiet but also to be able to travel around, we were not disappointed. We were not disappointed in fact we were pleasantly surprised. Mrs. Barbara was the perfect hosts giving us details of different places to visit and eat, she was very helpful but non intrusive and treated us like friends they had known for a while. You will find here perfect hosts and we would recommend people to stay here, if you want stunning views with the choice of a quiet or busy holiday then this gives you both and as others have said the apartment is well equipped to eat in, (in beautiful garden and terrace) or if you want you can walk to the village to eat out, you can drive a around Istria and it is all within one hour drive to see Pula, Porec, Rovinj, Opatija and other places.
