Welcome to Villa Mannu. A much-loved family home. Please note that if you wish to book more than 7 persons please make an enquiry before doing an instant booking as we need to check suitability.

Nestled in the tranquil coastal countryside 10 minutes from the bustling harbour town of Bosa, Sardinia, Villa Mannu is a family-friendly, intergenerational holiday home designed to create cherished memories. This independent, well-equipped villa offers a serene escape with breathtaking views of the sea and peninsula and the most stunning sunsets. Easily accessible from airports and ports.

The property comfortably sleeps up to 7 guests in four bedrooms (3 doubles, one single) with an option to convert the upstairs ensuite to 2 twin beds. Two additional children can be accommodated on request and make use of the TV lounge room with double divan bed.

Inside the Villa

Villa Mannu is designed to feel like a home away from home, equipped to a high standard with everything you could need:

• Air Conditioning. AC in all rooms AC is turned on at 8am and switched off at 10.30pm. (24/7 AC is available but there is an additional cost of 75 euro per week of stay)
• Modern Family Conveniences: Fast fiber internet, mosquito protection in all bedrooms, entertainment systems, and a well-stocked library of books and games.
• Spacious Living: Four bathrooms (two en-suites), multiple veranda areas with panoramic views, and a mezzanine area for quiet reading or family games.

New Quiet Lounge for 2025: An additional living area with a sofa bed, TV, and workstation provides the perfect spot to balance work with family time, or extra sleeping space for children (up to age 12). All bedrooms have shutters to black out the light and mosquito nets.

The villa is a short 10-minute drive from Bosa, known for its lively harbor, excellent restaurants, and family-friendly beaches. Discover secluded coves or vibrant beach clubs nearby, and enjoy the vibrant nightlife in Bosa’s historic centre.

We really enjoyed our stay @Villamannu with this wonderful view, the beautiful pool and the very special little beach just some minutes afar from the villa. Excellent Property

We had a fantastic experience as 2 families staying together here. House is great - spotless and everything we needed was there. The new pool is fantastic with plenty of loungers and seating. Paul the owner is super responsive to any queries. We all really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the property.

The Villa is incredible. It’s fully equipped with everything you need to have a perfect vacation. The location is ideal ans the view is breathtaking. Paolo and Una are great hosts, very responsive and provide great travel tips and recommendations. (Thank you!) I would rent this property again for sure!

Lovely relaxing family break

Beautiful villa in a fantastic location with stunning views. The pool was fantastic, lovely and clean. Bedrooms all comfortable and spacious. We stayed as a multi-generational family group and found there were plenty of areas where we could be together as a family group but enough space and different areas if we wanted some space from each other. Hosts communicated well and responded quickly to any quetions.

Fabulous and Relaxed holiday in this Superb Villa

This was our first time in Sardinia and this Villa certainly reflects the wonderful atmosphere of the island. It had everything we needed and the level of detail the owners have gone to with 2 folders of tips, instructions, and insider info is superb. The villa gets the sun all day in 2 seperate suntrap areas and the sun sets over the water in full glorious view. Beds were very comfortable, rooms were well appointed, showers and hot water available at all times. The sundecks are spacious and the sunbeds and hammocks new and very comfortable. The weather was so fine we didn't spend much time indoors, so passed on the huge array of DVDs on offer. The area is superb. The views over Bosa and the sea are sublime and you can walk down to an almost private cove on the shore. Bosa itself is easy to reach and has great restaurants, bars and beaches. We will certainly be back to Villa Manu soon.

A unique place for relaxing holidays

We spend 2 weeks in this marvelous villa and had absolutely perfect holidays. Traveling with 2 families including 5 teenagers the layout fits perfectly for our different needs. The kids had their own level with bathrooms and the adults enjoyed the very nice bedrooms on the first level with a roof top terrace and a balcony with a stunning view. We liked most the pool area, with enough space and shade at every time of the day. The house is located in a very calm neighborhood But you can reach the lovely local market, the beach of Porto Alabe and Bosa with its restaurants and supermarkets in a few minutes. The west coast of Sardegna is different from the white sandy beaches of the Costa Smeralda. Here you’ll find a deep blue sea with waves (depending on the wind) and yellow to brown sand. We liked the wind, it’s cooling and keeps the mosquitoes away! We were lucky that the owner was on Sardegna the same time and so we had the pleasure to meet him in person and got a lot of recommendations.

Thank you. Both families were delightful and really appreciated the area for what it is. They were also extremely tolerant of a few challenges we had over their stay including a minor blackout, failure of internet provider and an issue with the sesspit. However these are what to expect sometimes in italy as national utilities are not perfect. However it is a small price to pay in order to experience some of the untold beauties of this area. Thanks again. And please do come again, you will more than welcome.

Amazing location with amazing views of the coastline and sea. Pool was perfect and really good size with nice poolside areas. Location is rural but good restaurants within 20 mins walking distance and short drive to Bosa. Lovely street food takeaway and local supermarket which was super friendly and very busy with local people. Villa had nice shaded areas as it was very hot when we were there, would have benefited from air con being on over night but it was exceptionally hot whilst we were there. Very nice and modern kitchen and spacious rooms throughout. Would have been nice to have a house clean half way through the stay as we were there for two weeks, we have had this service at previous Vrbo villas and it is a welcome touch to maintain high level touch. Overall a really nice stay and a lovely area to stay in, we were fortunate to be there whilst local festival was going on and we felt really part of the local community. Well worth staying here for a relaxing holiday and great contact from owner including advice on places to visit and support when WI-FI went down.

Thanks in particular for highlighting two areas we need to make clearer in the information we provide for our guests. We do actually provide both an interim clean for guests who stay two weeks or longer and guests can also request to make changes to the AC schedule whenever they wish as it is run remotely. They may if they wish have this system on 24/7. These are offered on request for an additional charge as some clients prefer not to have these as additional services added to the base cost.. Perfect Villa for a large family or group

What a great holiday stay. We were two families staying at Villa Mannu and the villa worked perfectly with bedrooms arranged over both floors so we all had our own spaces. The beds are great and with each room having air con we were very comfortable. Kitchen is modern and well appointed with everything you need to cook a meal if you don’t fancy eating out. The pool is fantastic with plenty of sun loungers (often not the case) if you want the sun but also lots of spaces to relax in the shade. The table tennis table brought out the competitive side in all of us. Communication with Paolo was great with plenty of information before arrival so that we knew about the Villa before we got there and the occasional check to see that we were happy during our stay. A small issue with the pool was remedied quickly and without fuss. Local super market is great but Bosa has more choice and only a short 10 minute drive away. Having driven across the island to visit some beaches on the east coast (very busy) we loved coming back to the west coast and the relaxed , less touristy feel the local area where you really to get to see the real Sardinia. Be warned the recycling system on Sardinia takes a bit of getting used to. We got it wrong several times but if this is the only negative I can find about our stay it says a lot about how good Villa Mannu is. We didn’t want to leave.

I would also agree with you that the council refuse system is not ideal for holidaymakers and we are continuing to ask for dedicated municipal bins. It is one of the challenges of having a place that is not 'touristy'. Thanks also for keeping the villa so clean and keeping us informed of issues as they emerged. Do come again some time.

Fantastic holiday

Just back from a great holiday at Villa Mannu. Firstly dealing with the Paul the owner was very easy. He clearly is a man of his word and replied promptly to all our messages. The property isn't the most polished of the ones we've stayed in but it is clearly a family home (as described) and was clean. In fact the facilities there like numerous DVDs, books, wifi etc were used by all. The table tennis and basketball kept us all amused with parents vs kids games. The pool is a bit small but was clean and fine for us all to splash around and relax. We actually spent a lot of time at the villa because we needed a relaxing break and because it was so comfortable, like a home away from home. You'll need a car to get around but one of the best things was that you could walk to a lovely beach nearby and not worry about crazy parking. In fact we would often go for a few hours in the evening and the kids would snorkel (fish and octopus seen) or play in the sea / sand so we didn't have to commit to a full day sweltering on the beach if we isn't want to. Bosa itself is small but has some good restaurants so dining out not a problem. Alghero is less than an hour away and there is plenty to do there. Boat trip to Neptune's Grotto highly recommended. Both my wife and I work pretty hard and we needed to unplug and recharge and Villa Mannu was perfect for that. In summary plus points were Paul and Una the owners and great customer service, comfortable clean villa with great facilities, stunning views, access to beach, good eateries in Bosa. Would happily recommend.

Excellent séjour

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans la maison de Paolo. La maison est très agréable à vivre, bien équipée avec une très belle vue mer. Il y a des commerces à proximité ( 5 mn en voiture ) et très proche de Bossa. Une très belle plage facilement accessible à 5 mn de voiture. L'accueil est excellent et la piscine très agréable. Tout pour passer un bon séjour. La climatisation se coupe automatiquement la nuit mais ne pas hésitez a demander de modifier les horaires si besoin.

im großen und ganzen ein schönes Haus. Aber luxus ist es keiner. Türklinken quietschen, Bettdecke ist nur ein Laken, Sauberkeit könnte besser sein, Küche, Besteck und Geschirr, war leider alles nicht wirklich sauber. Liegen, und Stühle sind einige defekt, Auflagen sind auch sehr schmutzig. Die Müllentsorgung ist eine kleine Katastrophe, und sehr umständlich für die Urlauber .

Dear Katrina, Thankyou for sparing the time to send us a review. Naturally we are disappointed regarding your comments about the house. 75 5 star reviews (and 4 4 star) testify that this is extremely unusual. We were also very disappointed that the weather was not ideal during your stay. Unfortunately, whilst we did communicate on a regular basis at no point did you make issue with the house during your stay. We would gladly have tried to address them. This is not a luxury villa. We never state this in our promotion other than the pool which is a luxury pool. The villa is a comfortable family home. You would pay far more if this villa was luxury with the adjoining pool. We will however remove the word luxury from its association with the pool so that there is no confusion. We thank you for leaving the house so clean. We are surprised you found issue with its cleanliness as my wife takes great pride in ensuring the villa is spotless when you arrive and in 14 years of rental no one has ever commented on the cleanliness of the house, other than praising it. You state everything was unclean. We simply cannot reconcile this with previous guests who have praised the cleanliness of the house. We provided all the rooms with cotton duvets above the cupboards of each room. We left a number of the beds with sheets and a cover because it was quite warm and humid. So you had the option for this. Had you asked for them the solution would have been provided for you. Squeaky doors. I have no comment. Again a little Wd45 and having told us, we would have resolved it for you. The outdoor furnishings. Yes you mentioned this and we have subsequently ordered (they are arriving today) 4 more loungers and 2 external garden chairs. As for internal furnishings, we agree a couple of the chairs need addressing. And finally, the waste disposal. The system in Italy, like many countries is different and we should simply respect the effort that people take to ensure environmentally friendly waste disposal. We try to explain this as best we can. You mentioned that you might be unable to get rid of many of the bottles and some waste and we generously asked you to do the best that you could, however to not worry as we would deal with it on your departure. You were given to arrive and depart when you wished. My wife left you with some gifts in the fridge as we were aware the weather was not going to be great for your stay. Traumhafter Ausblick in ruhiger Lage

Wir haben mit unseren 3 Kindern eine wunderbare Woche im Oktober in diesem herrlichen Haus verbracht. Das Haus ist sehr gepflegt, der Außenbereich bietet von allen Stellen tolle Ausblicke, der Pool ist top und die Jungs haben sich sehr über den Basketballkorb gefreut. Kommen gerne wieder.

Belle semaine en Sardaigne

Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine dans la villa Mannu. La vue est splendide, la piscine toute récente est très réussie et agréable. La maison est très facile à vivre, avec tous les équipements nécessaires. Le salon m'a semblé plus grand sur la photo qu'en réalité mais sans problème pour nous qui étions 5. L'environnement est très calme et les couchers de soleil sont fantastiques : nous avons même vu notre premier rayon vert. La mer est toute proche mais l'accès se fait via un escalier raide et etroit donc déconseillé pour les petits, pas de souci pour nos enfants ados. Globalement une très bonne semaine, avec Paolo et Una qui ont montré une disponibilité exceptionnelle pour toute question. Merci à tous les deux !

Magical!

We stayed at Villa Manu for two weeks with 6 adults and three kids. The place is perfectly set up for different parties to have their own bedrooms and bathrooms and yet have plenty of different spaces for group gatherings. The kitchen is great and invites you to cook and hang out. The terrace is amazing with a beautiful view on the sunset every evening. The 2nd terrace with the pool area not only invites you to cool off but also allows for a nice big dinner with yet another perfect view. So, you have both, the perfect functional set up for multiple parties and various outdoor areas for dinners, drinks and relaxation. It’s a 10 min drive to Bosa and 5 min to the next beach. All in all we can highly recommend staying at this place and enjoying the beautiful wild and mesmerizing West Coast of Sardinia. Last thing worth mentioning is that Paolo is a super host, always responsive and helpful. You cannot go wrong with Villa Mannu if you are up for a holiday at the West Coast.

Toller Urlaub, trotz August erfreulich wenig los

Wir (2 Familien mit je zwei Jungs im Alter von 13 - 16) haben im August unsere Ferien hier verbracht. Kontakt mit dem Vermieter: Paul hat auf Anfragen, sowohl vor der Reise, als auch während unseres Aufenthaltes, innerhalb von spätestens 2 Stunden reagiert. Er war bei allen Fragen (auch nach Resaturants in der Umgebung) sehr hilfsbereit. Das haben wir bisher so noch nicht erlebt! Hier ein herzliches Dankeschön! Die Villa: Frisch renoviert, sehr gut ausgestattet: 4 Schlafzimmer, 4 Bäder (Dusche + WC), gut ausgestattete Küche; der Pool ist ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen (aber immer noch voll funktionsfähig) und hätte laut Paul bereits erneuert werden sollen. Ist durch die COVID Situation aber nicht möglich gewesen. Ich bin sicher, dass das demnächst angegangen wird. Alle Räume sind mit Klimaanlage ausgestattet. Sehr gut auch die Aussendusche mit warmem Wasser. Im ganzen Haus freies WiFi. Wunderschön war der Ausblick auf den beiden oberen Terassen. Umgebung: ~100m die Strasse runter gibt es eine Treppe, die die Steilküste hinab zum Meer führt. Ideal zum Schnorcheln. Zu fuß ist ein Sandstrand (südlich) in 10 min erreichbar. Weitere Strände im Norden und Süden, maximal 15 min mit dem Auto. Allgemein: Die Gegend um Bosa ist wenig touristisch. Wer Wert auf Rummel legt, ist hier falsch. Alles doch recht beschaulich. Der Große Vorteil: Selbst im August ist hier verhältnismässig wenig los. Wir haben immer einen Parkplatz am Strand gefunden, und die Stränder waren selbst um Feroagosto herum nur mäßig gefüllt. Kein Vergleich zur Costa Paradiso, Costa Smeralda oder die Gegend um Olbia/San Teodoro. Fazit: Wir haben die 14 Tage sehr genossen. Danke noch mal an Paul!

Given the success of using WhatsApp we will be using this in the future to help our guests as it gives us the opportunity to quickly respond to any queries. It is a shame about the pool. And as you say we were caught by COVID lockdown. However, the architects and pool people are coming together again in September where we hope to start work on an infinity pool in October. Maison fantastique

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans cette maison très bien équipée, avec la climatisation dans toutes les pièces. Les propriétaires sont très disponibles via WhatsApp. La maison est propre. Les produits d'entretien sont fournis, le matériel est de bonne qualité. La plage est à quelques minutes en voiture. Les couchers de soleil sont incroyables !

Well equipped villa with beautiful views

We visited Villa Mannu in September as a group of four adults and two young children. The property is easy to locate with Paul’s instructions and was a perfect size for our group, as well as being well equipped with all we should need. Paul has kindly sourced 2 cots and 2 high chairs for us in advance and provided very details instructions about the house and check in process. The views are beautiful and it was lovely to have mosquito nets, air conditioning and blackout blinds in the bedrooms (especially useful for napping toddlers!) The location is quiet and we found it a little remote - we would have liked a few more bars, shops and restaurants within walking distance, but Bosa is not too far away by car and there was a pizzeria in the local village that we visited on two occasions. There are some lovely beaches within walking distance with beautifully clear waters which we only discovered on our final two days but enjoyed very much!

VILLA MANNU, Santa Maria del Mare - a perfect place!

we loved and enjoyed the week staying in Villa Mannu at Santa Maria del Mare. the kids loved the pool and we loved to sit outside for breakfast and in the evening watching the sunset! during our stay in July and the high temperatures outside it was absolutely great to have a cool air-conditioned retreat. And after coming back from the beach, the outside-shower was the important place to get rid of the salt and sand and cleaning all the diving equipment…..a absolutely perfect place!

Lovely house with wonderful views

I can't fault anything. The house is lovely- bright, clean, modern and tasteful. Everything you might need is provided. The views are wonderful. I'd say it's even better than it looks in the photos!

This is an intergenerational environmentally friendly villa for extended families and staycationers (out of season with discounted long term rates) that want to come to a homely environment with all amenities. The views of the sea from downstairs and upstairs (on two verandas and from two of the bedrooms and then from the garden, terrace, and also from the kitchen and lounge area) are out of this world! Sunsets and sea within a tranquil setting. It lies in a small hamlet of beautifully set houses. that has an accompanying church and piazza. The kids loved playing in the piazza when they were younger. There is a real sense of freedom and a rural environment about the place. As well as private areas for you to read and talk. There is a basketball net and ping pong table as well as a pool to​ relax in.

Our maxim is transparency and knowing exactly what you get. Treat this family home like you would your own and be responsible for it. The price includes free offerings like fast wi-fi (100MBs+), AC in all rooms that is chargeable if used 24/7 and heating (heating and AC are on timers as well as the pool filtering to ensure the use of solar panels. This is provided free). We also provide you with complimentary towels for the beach and twobeach umbrellas, cool box, and a comprehensive house that is more a home than a rental villa. We have a vast array of in house entertainment, A huge collection of DVDs just in case you get a bad day.

In the autumn, spring​ and winter (our favourite time) the house is fully heated and even has electric blankets if you want them (that was when we didn't have heating but now we do, so I doubt you would need them).

The area is truly outstanding with the main town not too far away and surrounding villages on the hillside. You can go for long coastal walks and come back to a private area and take a dip in the pool when you come to relax.

The reviews reflect just how many families have enjoyed our property. You will not be disappointed.
