Thank you for staying with us. Although everything is tested prior to guests arrival, we are sorry that the Jacuzzi wasn’t holding temperature for you. Unfortunately it’s very hard to get any kind of service people quickly at the moment but this has now been fixed. Please contact us for a discount on any future stay. I have noted your concern about the landscaping. Some people prefer more privacy but I will have our landscapers take a look to see if we can make any improvements. Thank you for these suggestions, we try to accommodate our guests requests as best as we can, although there can be misalignment of the varying requests at times.

It was lovely getting to know Annie and her family. The three generations enjoyed swimming, floating on tubes, kayaking, boating, BBQ's and watching friends on Netflix. They left our home clean and tidy when they left and were friendly yet considerate to neighbors and quiet in the home. We loved having them as guests and we are looking forward to their return.

Thank you for considering us for your fall vacation stay. Our first response would be that vacation rentals do not guarantee 24x7 staff access. If this is required then a hotel would be a better choice. Based on over 8 years of hosting - our property is very easy to find but if checking in significantly later than the 3pm check-in time we do not guarantee to be available into the early hours of the morning. This is regardless of the hosts’ current location who aren’t going to always be at the property. We also did not receive any communication about you being lost or not being able to find us – the comment in your review is the first we were aware of this. As explained to you during our check in process, we Winterize our property during late fall. This includes winterizing the hot tub, our water toys including the hydro bikes and kayak. For your enjoyment we kept the Adirondack chairs and table on the dock, along with other accessories. We did step through the instructions to bring the hot tub back to summer operation for you, and tried to cater to your demands no matter how unusual they were. Our house sitter also attempted to connect with you, but it seemed there was never a convenient time for you. We are sorry that the temperatures were not to your liking although we set our nest controller to your preferences in temperature, and it used the temperature sensor in our Airbnb level to ensure the temperature conformed to your preferences. We monitored these and ensured your preferences were consistently met. The sensors on the living room French doors indicated that there were several occasions when the heating was unable to keep up with the open doors where the heat escaped, and our energy consumption reported by Nest reflected this behavior as well. We tried several times to work with you to install the app that manages the temperature but you declined saying you didn’t have the bandwidth and never commented again on the temperature which led to assumption that everything was now satisfactory. Our professional cleaning company was engaged in discussions on how to be paid extra for the condition of our home during your stay as biological hazards such as vomit and worse in kitchen bedroom and bathroom caused their staff to request to not clean while the current guest was staying which is a first time for us in over 8 years of hosting. This plus the trash situation was outside the scope of a normal interim clean during a stay which we offered as complimentary due to you booking for 3 weeks. We were then surprised when you started demanding significant discounts in exchange for a positive review and it became clear that minor things were being sought out to establish a pattern of justification for your continued suggestions of discounts to avoid a negative review. We don’t operate that way, and we are fairly certain that VRBO’s extortion policy expressly prohibits this. “Guests can't threaten to use a review against you to obtain refunds or additional compensation.” We have reported the incident with supporting documentation to VRBO. We always welcome guests from every corner of the world and do our best to ensure their stay is amazing, not just great! All said, we take a very dim view of “review based threats” and we would not welcome you to return to our beautiful property as we believe our trust has been violated. We continue to discuss details of your stay with VRBO, and welcome the opportunity to discuss with any future guests who may be interested in making decisions about our property based on your review.
