A great house to stay at

We found the house well decorated (it was Christmas), spacious and well set out. All the bedrooms were very well attended. The kitchen had most of the things you need and sharp knives plus space, for when there is more than one cook. The snug was a hit with our grandsons, as they could escape the adults. The surprise was how crowded the village itself was. We had heard it was popular but we expected that to be more for warmer months. Talking to locals quickly dispelled that myth, plus all the people there. Be prepared to queue for most things, including the bridge, and you have to book the restaurants. Did we all like the house, yes. Would we stay there again, no sure.

Large family house.

Large house suitable for big mixed aged family groups. Located in a good location on the outskirts of the village with good access along rural footpaths to the village. Number of issues that were not resolved quickly and should have been identified before we started our holiday.

Family get together

Cottage exceeded our expectations.Clean and well presented.Very large kitchen and dining area was ideal for large group to eat and socialise.Lounge with wood burning stove great for evenings. 5 cars parked ok on drive. Easy and pleasant walk into village centre and footpaths to nearby villages close by for pub lunches etc. Overall great stay

Overall we had a great stay. The location of the property was ideal for walking into the village.

Ideal location for village and surrounding areas. What we had was very good but inside and out would benefit from some tlc. Garden needed some attention and a coat of paint would not go amiss.

Millstone in August

Negatives: doors need some maintenance (some bedrooms and bathroom doors do not shut, and back door needs re-alignment, front door is noisy, needs oiling), bathrooms need more/some shelving and hooks for towels and clothes, extractor fan in bathroom did not work, wallpaper needs attention in 1st floor front bedroom, more wardrobes/hanging hooks required in most bedrooms, blinds were broken in roof bedroom, dishwasher broken, more seats in lounge required, clearer recycling instructions required with larger bins in kitchen, and parking is tight for 5 cars(you need to keep shuffling around and we only had 3). In reality it just needs a fresh set of eyes looking at the property and a few maintenance issues dealt with. Positives: excellent location to walk into village using different routes, well-equipped kitchen and good layout, bedroom sizes ok, hot showers at anytime of day, excellent number of bathrooms/wc, lounge excellent size, dining table good size, table tennis excellent (with good quality bats & balls), seating/table in garden good, great central position within Cotswold area. We all had a very enjoyable stay as a mixed age family gathering.

Fantastic accommodation and location

This beautiful property and location were perfect for our family of nine adults. There was ample space both inside and out, and we had plenty of pots, pans, and crockery to cook most of our meals from scratch. The Range cooker was a real bonus! Bourton-on-the-Water is a great location for exploring. We would often drive to nearby locations in the mornings and then do local walks in the surrounding countryside in the afternoons. We managed to cover about 30 miles in total, all from the doorstep of the cottage. We would highly recommend this accommodation.

Well proportioned property for large families (12 of us )

Plenty of room for a family to spread out, and well stocked. My only observation was the lack of pantry cupboard space. Great location.

Perfect location!

A very comfortable house, just a short stroll to the main town. Ideal for family gatherings. Sufficient off-street parking for about 6 cars. We had 1 large towel and one small towel each for a week: the availability of additional towels would have been useful to save us having to wash those provided. We had to buy additional toilet rolls and washing up liquid.during our stay ~ it's a shame sufficient weren't provided. Well-equipped kitchen. However, the fridge-freezer wasn't large enough to store the food we brought for 9 adults and 4 children. The garden was perfect, with a BBQ and a large table for us all to sit around.

The Property location was excellent and a short walk from all that Bourton has to offer. We had a great time with our family and the facilities at the property were excellent. The only negative was a few dusty areas inside.

Wonderful location

We loved the house for our family holiday . Well equipped & comfortable . Its location is perfect for a morning walk around the village with the dogs then popping in at the bakery on the water for pastries & coffee. The facilities at the house were excellent . My husband made bread twice & we enjoyed relaxing with our family in the large lounge with the log burner . Perfect for my birthday celebrations .

Excellent weekend away

There were 8 adults and two children in our party and the house was excellent and satisfied all of our needs. The location was spot on a short walk into the village and short drives to adjacent Cotswolds locations We had to contact Sammi the housekeeper a couple of times and she was extremely helpful I fully recommend the company and house and would definitely return

Perfect property for large group

There were 9 adults and the property was just ideal for our needs. A separate snug was lovely for those that wanted to get away from the TV and relax reading a book. Rooms were spacious and the kitchen was superbly stocked with everything you could possibly need.

Thanksgiving family get together

The property was great for our requirements with large lounge and large table in kitchen/diner so that all 10 adults could get round for our family meals prepared and cooked in the well appointed kitchen. We had a great time and hopefully will be able to go back next year.

Another great long weekend

We have stayed here before and booked again as has 6 bedrooms and so convenient to walk to Bourton on the Water. Spotlessly clean and really comfortable for myself and my 5 friends. Off road parking for our 4 cars which is great too. Would definitely recommend.

Location And Facilities Fantastic.

Lovely stay

Cottage was great for our needs and kitchen is very well equipped for self-catering. Footpaths a plenty from the door with lovely 5/10 minute walk to the bakery in a morning. Would say parking is more for 4 cars & it’s both the bedroom and bathroom in the top floor that have restricted headroom. Cotswolds Hideaways not so helpful with a query beforehand but housekeeper very helpful when contacted directly.

Family gathering

We had a great stay, cottage was perfect and the location suited us really well. however the grass was really long which stopped us being able to use the garden for any games etc. Also when we arrived the recycling bins were full up from the previous guests which made it difficult for us to place any of our recycling there. One of the sofa legs (2 seater chair) were broken. Cottage was extremely well equipped and we really appreciated the early check in .

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location

Millstone Cottage is a lovely property just a short walk from the busy centre of Bourton on the Water. It was spotless on arrival and provided very ideal accommodation for our group. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable as was the lounge. The kitchen was very well equipped, providing everything we needed for our stay. I would definitely recommend this property.
