The host is super responsive. Amenities are top notch. There are total two cabins on the properties; one is the main house and the other is a game room. The property is very clean. There’s also a garden and a river dock at the bottom of the property. The view and the nature are unbeatable. This is about 10 to 15 min drive to Dripping Spring Downtown which has a lot of restaurants and super markets, and about 40 min drive to Fredericksburg and 50 min drive to Marble Falls. We will definitely be back.

This was our second stay and everything was wonderful as it had been last July. Harriet is most welcoming and friendly and quick to be of any assistance. Saw 8 different varieties of birds at feeders just 8-10 feet from the wonderful rocking chairs on the shaded porch. The cabin is a perfect size for a couple and it had everything we needed. Hope you get back again in the winter to check out more/different bird species.

4th of July

We were thoroughly pleased with the well maintained property and our stay! Perfect size for 2 people. Secluded. Lots of bird activity. There were 2 bird food feeders and we brought our own hummingbird feeder. The cabana area down by the creek is awesome! There are even a couple of walking sticks hanging by the door which were handy to have. Harriet was quick to respond to any questions we had and her directions to the cabin were spot on! The propane grill was nice and great not to have to mess w/ charcoal or wood! We hope to get back in the autumn for a different set of birds!

Amazing place

So clean, well stocked - we didn’t need for anything!! Appreciate all the special touches, even a water bowl for the dog upon arrival!! The dogs loved the creek! So much fun, would stay again!!

Perfect getaway

My wife and I throughly enjoyed our weekend getaway. The house is comfortable and well maintained and has all the essentials. We enjoyed wading and swimming in the creek. We played pool for the first time in years. Grilled steaks and relaxed. Communication was great, the property was exactly as described. Being a few miles from one of my favorite state parks is also a big plus - got to do some hiking at Pedernales. My only complaint is we ran out of time :)

Absolutely perfect romantic nature getaway

The property was exactly as listed. We have stayed in a lot of different rentals and this by far felt the most like home. The attention to details like spices, yeti cups to use, condiments in the fridge all really added up. The real show stopper is the property. Overlooking a gorgeous creek with cliff swallows aplenty and crystal clear water with all sorts of activities provided like kayaks, floats and a canoe. The view of the dark sky is also note worthy. Even with it being 2 days til a full moon

Great Night Sleep and Fun All Day

We had a great vacation with our dogs at this property. They played in the creek and were exhausted every night (so were we). The communication on the property, checking-in and out was fabulous. The bed was really comfortable. We ate most meals at the house, and everything we could possibly need was there. Only one FYI, which had NOTHING to do with the owners, we couldn't enjoy the deck at night very much because we were swarmed by bugs. There were citronella candles, but I think bugs just laugh at those. That's just life in the hill country, not a negative just an FYI. We had a great long weekend.

Weekend gateway

Property was wonderful. It was very well equipped. We cooked every night there and the kitchen had everything we needed. We loved the big fireplace and the outdoor decks. The views were incredible especially at night. The creek exceeded our expectations. We really enjoyed peacefully canoeing up the creek and even caught a small bass. The host communicated with us throughout our stay and made sure we had everything we needed. We are looking to come back and stay a little longer.

Hidden Gem

The pictures on the website don't do this place justice. The cabin was roomy, cozy, and had excellent amenities. Go when it's cool so you can use the fireplace! The porch and deck give you amazing views of the creek and forest. The night sky was amazing. Harriet is by far the best host you will ever encounter. She answered every question and went above and beyond. We hope to return in the spring so we can enjoy the creek.

Paradise in Madrone Canyon

Beautiful property nestled in one of prettiest spots in the hill country, Madrone Canyon. We had drawn a State hunt in Pedernales Falls SP and needed a place to stay while there. Fiddlers Creekside has beautiful views, calm clear water and cool breeze with no other sound than the birds. This was the cherry on top to my hunt at Pedernales Falls SP. Very relaxing and the amenities of home. Did I mention the Host is wonderful? Harriet was always in touch and wonderful to chat with. I cannot wait to return. You will not regret booking this lovely place. I just hope its available when I want to return.

Peaceful getaway

Where do I begin? My husband and I and the dogs Joey and Sammie enjoyed the house and property so much! We loved the creek and the canoe so much we took it out everyday and loved what we call the aquarium. We saw so many fish through the clear water. We played pool every night and threw darts in the game room. The house was so clean and well equipped with everything you need to feel at home. We used the gas grill and made the best steaks and my husband loved the BBQ tools to make the job easy. We sat on the rockers outside and felt like we were in our own private wilderness. The birds entertained us everyday while they fed from the feeders just in front of us. Harriet you have a beautiful home which we enjoyed and needed so much! You are such a great host and made us feel so welcome. We slept like babies in the king size bed and loved that you had all the amenities to shower and get ready for our new adventures for the day. I could go on and on about Fiddlers Creek and will definitely be coming back to that little slice of heaven. One more note wear good hiking shoes and be prepared for a great adventure.

Clean and Peaceful

Harriett was always so quick to reply to my messages. The cabin was tucked away in a gated community and it was very peaceful and very clean. The cabin had everything we needed. I brought extra cooking supplies but didn't even need it. However, we felt like the game room had been a little neglected and could use a little updating. Our two golden doodles loved the creek and the canoe rides. We went mainly to do the wine trail and we were about 45 minutes from all the wineries. We were far enough from the busyness but close enough to enjoy the wineries. Thank you Harriett!

The house is spotless, the location is perfect! We enjoyed swimming, floating and star gazing. So very close to so many things in town, yet we didnt see a single person during our stay. We had the creek to ourselves. So very perfect for my birthday.

This place is a blessing!

This was our second trip to Fiddlers Creekside, and it was just as amazing as the first, but even better, as our first trip was 7 yrs ago, during a severe drought. The beauty is hard to describe, the place is the cleanest I've ever been to(I literally couldn't find a spec of dust in the house) and all the extras that Harriett provides makes the place feel like home. We had a perfect mixture of thunderstorms, rain showers, and sunshine, so we were able to enjoy hearing rain from the porch, fishing during some beautiful showers, playing pool through thunderstorms, canoeing the creek, sunbathing in the afternoons, and stargazing at night. To say the least it was perfection, and we can't thank our host enough for sharing this incredible place with us and our fur-babies! sunshine to make our stay the phome

Our family has lived in the hill country since 1984, Midwest transplants and tired of the winters. I am a nature enthusiast, Animal rehabilitator, environmentalist, to name a few. We transformed an overgrazed cattle ranch to a wildlife sanctuary, Fiddlers Green Ranch. We bought Fiddlers Creekside in June 2016 from a close neighbor and transformed it to what it is today. We toast our friend, Clovis Tanner, for the opportunity to carry on his dream of this property, preserving and enhancing its natural beauty.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We loved this property and the previous owner, Clovis, for over 20 years. We always told Clovis when he was ready to sell, we'd love first right of refusal. He first approached us in spring of 2015 and as excited as I was, it was not in the budget. In March of 2016 things came together and we were able to take this pristine piece of property and bring it back to its beautiful stature. Now, you have an opportunity to also experience it. Many of the items in the home are truly vintage and belonged to Clovis and will remain there to honor the beautiful spaces he created. Clovis passed about 2 months after we closed on the property. Toast our friend while there, he would have loved the opportunity to meet you! You'll enjoy flipping through a few of his things while there!

Countless views from this property will take your breath away! BBQ or lounge on the deck overlooking the creek. Enjoy the stunning garden below the home. Stargaze in one of the best places on earth! This is total privacy and just upstream from Pedernales Falls State Park, 3 miles to the entrance or hike from the property to the park! Vineyards within minutes, or just do NOTHING and float and canoe the creek, or yoga on the decks. Bring your guitar, too. In the cold months enjoy the spectacular fireplace. Read the reviews, I love hearing from others how special this property truly is.
