Secluded Delight

Excellant bungalow hidden away in the countryside down a private road. Spacious and clean with lovely gardens around the property with views across the fields for miles. We had nightly visits around 8pm of a pair of Barn owls. 5 minutes drive from the wonderful Alnwick with its castles and gardens and about 25 minutes drive to Amble and the coast.

Excellent stay in a great location

Cottage was spotless and had everything we needed for a week. Owners made us feel very welcome. The garden was a great size and perfect for all of us to play in, with plenty seating. It was a lovely quiet location, well situated to explore the many pretty little towns and villages. Highly recommend

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, our hosts were very welcoming and the cottage so comfy with cosy bedrooms, everything we needed in the kitchen and an amazing power shower and bath with a view! The children loved playing in the garden and Hazel said we were all welcome to venture into the woods to see the pheasant and deer. Can't fault this cottage just right for us and our dog. The hosts Paul and Hazel are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Our dog Marley loves it here with plenty of space to run free. Our first visit and most certainly not our last. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic time at Heckley cottage.

We had a fantastic time at Heckley cottage. Paul and Jackie made us - and our two kids and whippets - really welcome from the outset, and were extremely helpful throughout the week. The location of the cottage is difficult to better, with wonderful views and a real sense of seclusion, despite being within easy driving distance of Alnwick and all its attractions... We would particularly recommend the coastline at Low Stands - beautiful, quiet and peaceful even in high season. The layout of the cottage worked perfectly for us and our family, cosy enough for time together but big enough to give the kids some space. The garden is perfect for dogs - even fast ones that can leap walls! All in all, a great cottage in a great location. We will definitely return!

The cottage is in a lovely rural peaceful location near to farmland just outside Alnwick. A good base to explore the surrounding area. The cottage was well equipped and had a nice log burner. It is a good size. I did find the cottage a bit grubby and think it could do with a bit extra cleaning and freshen up. I was disappointed in the garden area which was a bit unkempt and the garden furniture was dirty and worn.

We keep going back multiple times a year. If you want to holiday with your dogs you cant beat it. Wonderful, friendly, accommodating owners. Home from home. Lovely views. Peaceful and quiet. My Sister and I recently spent a lovely week in May at Heckley Cottage. Idyllic spot in beautiful surroundings. The cottage was very comfortable and had some lovely outside areas where we could sit and enjoy the sun and wonderful views. The owners Hazel and Paul were fantastic hosts and made sure we really enjoyed our holiday, and look forward to seeing them again. Excellent cottage,great location with fantastic views and walks from the door with your dog.Very secure garden with lovely seating areas,everything you could need in a holiday cottage with great owners it would take some beating.Only negative nothing to do with the property but many of the castles and gardens do not even let you into the car parks and grounds if you have a dog in the car even if you just want to leave it in the car and have a quick look round so check first on line to prevent dissapointment though thankfully cragside do allow you to walk around it’s excellent park,apart from that perfect!
