. Este inusual alojamiento independiente con un ambiente tranquilo y contemporáneo es una antigua torre de agua restaurada ubicada en una zona rural, cerca del encantador pueblo de Corbridge. Hadrian’s Wall está cerca, y Hexham, famosa por su abadía y su hipódromo, está a solo unos minutos en coche. La costa del patrimonio de Northumberland con sus playas y castillos dorados y vírgenes es de 50 minutos. Bamburgh y Alnwick, ambos con espléndidos castillos, se pueden visitar el mismo día. Restaurante / bar recomendado en el pueblo de Newton (8 minutos a pie) que sirve excelente comida. Compre 5 millas, pub 3 millas.

The views from the cottage are fantastic and there are some lovely walks on the doorstep.

The views from the cottage are fantastic and there are some lovely walks on the doorstep. It's a great place for stargazing too.The cottage itself is warm and cosy and the welcome pack was a lovely treat. We loved seeing, hearing and feeding the resident donkeys.This was or 2nd visit to the cottage and hopefully not our last.

We so enjoyed our stay at this unique and characterful property. The open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge with the beautiful arched windows and shutters feels very luxurious. The bathrooms are great (fantastic showers). The bedrooms are spacious with plenty of room for storage. Being so high up, detached and completely enclosed in your own private piece of land it is very peaceful - we enjoyed panoramic sunsets from the lounge. Everything is here for a perfect home from home - we could easily have stayed much longer - great location for Hexham, Corbridge and all the Hadrians Wall sites. We would love to go again. Thank you to Marie and Hienz for their unobtrusive hospitality and the lovely fresh eggs, wine and homemade soda bread making our stay even more special. The only other neighbours are two donkeys who were very well behaved (loved carrots) and the local wildlife - we saw birds of prey, hares and heard an owl.

Amazing, magical holiday stay.

Amazing, magical holiday stay.gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, peaceful setting with birdsong, views over stunning fields. Corbridge and Graham lovely to visit. Corbridge Roman town museum a must too. Lots of places to eat in Corbridge and delis, butchers, co-op, bakers, nice shops and great tandoori takeaway.Great fun watching and feeding donkeys, seeing bars and hearing owls. Would highly recommend to all.

Fantastic cottage in an amazing setting with stunning views. Rural location with a pub with a 15 minute walk and shops a 15 minute drive. So many walks and things to do with a 30 minute drive and Bamburgh is under an hours drive - the perfect location for visiting Northumberland.

Perfect place to get away from it all, lots to see and do in the surrounding area. Accommodation was warm , well equipped and set in glorious isolation with stunning views. It was clean and comfortable. When we arrived Heinz welcomed us, there were eggs, some wonderful bread and a bottle of Cava for our enjoyment waiting for us. An idyllic location and beautiful house with every comfort you could wish for. Our hosts made sure everything was working perfectly and made us a delicious loaf of warm soda bread, together with fresh eggs and a bottle of wine on arrival. There is a wealth of things to do locally or within a short drive. The Duke of Wellington pub in the village provides excellent food for all tastes. We have stayed before and each occasion we have had an excellent holiday. We will definitely return, it’s the perfect holiday spot to relax and explore Northumberland.

Pretty much a perfect holiday in a unique property. Very friendly owner who respected our privacy but was very helpful at the same time. Kids loved playing in the grounds and feeding the two gorgeous donkeys! Absolutely wonderful holiday, will book here again.

The rating would have been higher still had we not been asked to remove the sheets, etc. I was very happy to do that, but in doing so discovered the soiled mattress cover and other stained bedding. Apart from that it is a terrific cottage!

Stunning location, situated on the top of a hill, with beautiful views, on a private drive, with owners house down the hill and a privacy fence, with donkeys, sheep, squirrels, pheasants and rabbits for company. Very private and peaceful with no light pollution. Well equipped house, enough storage, a super shower, welcome gifts from the owner, lovely surroundings. No issues with anything, with ref to previous reviews; gateway in it is narrow but we have a big SUV and had no probs. Gate Lock was easy enough to do Easy access to A69 for local towns, Newcastle/Whitley Bay, Hadrian's Wall, Kielder Forest. Seahouses area was only an hour away

We had a really enjoyable and relaxing week at the water castle.

We had a really enjoyable and relaxing week at the water castle. There was an issue with the heating not working when we first arrived, but it was sorted out quickly (thanks to Kenny and his colleague for an excellent response and subsequent follow up !) and the cottage was cosy for the rest of the week. The cottage itself is well laid out, clean and has almost everything you could want. The area is stunning and we loved the peace and quiet, but at the same time Hexham and Corbridge were only a very short drive away. Overall a great experience and we look forward to returning soon

Overall v good.

Overall v good. Only minor gripes were: 1. Entrance to grass track leading up to Water Castle was unnecessarily narrow. 2. Hot and cold water systems a bit unusual. Took time to build up pressure, then came on in pressure wave. Quite hard to regulate. 3. No 2-pin electric points in bathroom for shave or electric toothbrush charging. 4. Some tea bags and a pint of milk on arrival would have been nice. That said, the bread and eggs were most welcome
