En Samoan Highland Hideaway tienen la casa COMPLETA para ustedes con la máxima comodidad, privacidad y la funcionalidad completa de su propio hogar. Sin mencionar los productos de la plantación.

Esta casa ejecutiva está hermosamente decorada, completamente cerrada y completamente amueblada. Estamos semi desconectados de la red con energía solar (batería y respaldo de red), tanques de agua de lluvia y nuestra propia plantación. Mango, plátano, papaya y aguacate son algunos de los placeres que le esperan.

La casa principal de dos niveles tiene cuatro dormitorios, tres baños completos, cocina moderna y totalmente equipada, terraza de 60 'de largo que se abre a una terraza de ensueño con vista al valle privado. Esta casa es ideal para familias y especialmente para numerosas parejas.


La vivienda principal: esta casa de dos niveles se encuentra en una pendiente razonablemente empinada hacia el noroeste con vistas a un pequeño valle privado. Una hermosa cocina moderna que se abre al salón está rodeada por una enorme terraza cerrada en forma de L. También arriba tenemos el dormitorio principal contiguo a un baño completo, otro dormitorio, baño completo y lavandería. En la planta baja consta de 2 dormitorios más grandes, otro baño completo y una oficina espaciosa junto a una sala de lectura.

La veranda se abre a una nueva cubierta que te da la impresión de estar en la cima de una montaña. Te encantará experimentar el brillo de la luna en su plenitud y las maravillosas brisas nocturnas; sin mencionar nuestro café local temprano en la mañana. Serenidad, extremadamente silenciosa, muy segura y a prueba de insectos.

Fale Samoan tradicional alternativo: Nuestro nuevo pero tradicional Samoan Fale (hogar) le permitirá experimentar toda la singularidad de este diseño samoano muy antiguo, ventilación extremadamente efectiva. El diseño antiguo ha sido exclusivo solo de las islas de Samoa. La forma ovalada está cubierta por un techo extremadamente alto y abovedado que mejora la frescura del fale. El interior está intrincadamente acabado a mano con materiales locales que lo bañan en la tradición eterna de Samoa.

The home was spacious and accommodating for our large family. The front living area + patio was a great gathering space at the end of the day. Friendly neighbors stopped by with fruit and food, making our stay even more enjoyable.

The best place we have stayed in, in Samoa. Beautiful home and grounds. Plenty of room for a big group. House was clean and had everything that you need, like you were in your own home. Tim was helpful and went out of his way to make our trip memorable. Thank you for having us, will definitely look to stay here again.

Exceeded expectations

Tim and Maria were incredible hosts, going beyond expectations in helping us obtain medical care for a stuck child during our stay. Fruit was delicious, flowers beautiful, house spacious and Tim and Maria extremely friendly. Only improvement be air conditioning.

Our families wonderful stay at Highland Hideaway

Wow, from arriving to leaving this beautiful place, has been a great experiences for my sister and myself families, group of 7 adults. House is so spacious and open with a great balcony looking out to a well maintained Samoan garden. Good size kitchen to cook in, which was excellent for in house cooking, which we enjoyed, with the shops close by to buy food. Maria and here family provided outstanding service and guidances that made our stay at this place such a wonderful experiences, that we will not forget, and we plan to come back to this place, it is a great platform to base from to explore this beautiful country . Maria and Tim thank you for your hospitality, highlight to our trip.

Hidden piece of heaven

We had the opportunity to stay at both of Tim’s properties while in Samoa. Both houses were above and beyond our expectations. The main house is roomy and could fit much more than our family of 5. The balcony is to die for. The property is beautifully manicured and couldn’t be any more stunning. Tim is an absolute pleasure to work with and made us feel right at home. The property will be our first choice if we are looking for a place to stay in Samoa again.

Beyond Expectations

We had a beautiful stay and Tim and Maria’s home. They were so welcoming and accommodating throughout our stay. The grounds were immaculately kept by gardener Ioane. Great big space for families. Clean and tidy and kept nice and cool with fans in every room. Well equipped kitchen, great washing machine and restful living areas. Hosts were wonderfully polite and easy to communicate with. Poor cellphone reception if you don’t plan on driving to town daily. Wifi available but not always reliable. Otherwise not a single issue with our stay. We would absolutely recommend this stay to other families!

Perfect match 'Home away from Home'

WOW! Better then the photos. On arrival, we were greeted by Lena & Tepora who were both very welcoming. All the amenities were up to standard and the up keep of the gardens were amazing! The location was perfect and suited our needs, very private and well away from the main road. BUT, as the owners have mentioned, make note that the shared drive-way is very rocky and you will be best to have a 4WD or similar .We all enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely recommend this property to small & large families. Thank you to the ladies Lena & Tepora for the great hospitality. We hope to see you again on our next trip. Regards Lydwina T (New Plymouth, NZ)

Loved the kindness of the people. John was great!

It’s hard to find a place big enough to House 10 adults. There were beds for only 9 so one had to sleep on the floor and the downstairs beds were small. It’s a very nice home and we adjusted well and had a great time. We loved sitting out on the large balcony in the cool of the evening a gazing at the glorious stars. We especially enjoyed the fresh fruit from the plantation tha John brought us.

Amazing Property- Perfect for Large Family

Our large family group just came home from staying at this amazing property in Samoa. It is just minutes from downtown Apia and is nestled in the hills just above making it about 10 degrees cooler than staying in town. It was clean, well appointed and Tim and Maria are the most enchanting hosts. We felt so pampered with daily visits to check up on us, deliver fresh produce from their garden and a wonderful woman who tidied up for us. It was magical! We watched the glorious sunrise and sunset on the balcony- where we also did daily Yoga ( they even had mats for us!). We will definitely return again and cannot recommend this place high enough!

me and the family really enjoyed our own space and quietness from everything There was plenty of space for 8 adults and 1 pre teen so everyone had space to themselves Maria and her helpers were amazing kind and helpful with anything we needed anything Loved staying here and we definitely come back or recommend the beautiful house to other visitors

Beautiful - a home away from home

My family had a great stay in this beautiful, well kept home - we like to thank our host Maria who made sure we were all comfortable & safe - always made sure any amenities that was needed eg extra fan, rice cooker, Maria would attend to straight away - she would drop whatever she is doing to do this. Maria was always helpful and a pleasure to chat to. It was good to have a dryer (main house) and Maria did not mind when you would use it (day or night) - loved the solar system invested in both properties and the house was very spacious ( we had 7 adults and 4 kids ). The road going to Hideaway would be the only issue but our kids enjoyed it bouncing side to side thinking it was a ride :) Thank you Tim & Maria - we have recommended this home to friends & family and hopefully when we return again would definitely stay here. Ps Our kids are missing the dogs Snowy & Excel

A small price for comfort.

Tucked away in Aleisa, we were greeted by the lovely Maria (owner). Clean Home which contains everything you need and more. A plantation of pineapples, pawpaw, avocado and bananas we had access too. Internet reception wasnt great but plenty of books to read. A safe place with friendly night security and grounds maintenance team.

Slow pace of life off the beaten path

Had a great time in Samoa at this property. Everything as advertised, safe secure property with comfortable amenities. More than expected spaciousness. Spent two weeks here seeing Upolu and enjoyed it. Tepora & Lena were helpful and friendly, as was everyone else we met in Samoa. Property was very beautiful true to photos, wonderful grass driveway. Kitchen was well equipped with gas stove, modern fridge, etc. Only a few over the air channels on the TV, but one showed a movie most every night. Corner store available right nearby within walking distance (limited) and large supermarkets available in about 20-30 minute drive. Only concerns was lack of fans (only two rooms had ceiling fans) but Lena was able to get us a portable fan, and of course, the ever present tropical bugs. The screens do a good job keeping out the flying ones. A clothes dryer is available at the fale, but the house has a line in the yard and lines under the carport to dry despite the rain. The road from the main sealed road to the driveway can be a bit rough after seasonal rains, so enquire as to conditions.

Loved everything about this rental home. The homeowners were so sweet, accomadating and always made sure we had everything we needed. We fully intend to use this rental again for future travels to Samoa.

Tim and Maria Walkden-Brown are now seeing their vision of providing a place for travelers to appreciate serenity and quietness in a beautiful and uncomplicated hideaway come true. Why, because that is what we ourselves seek…. how much more for us to be share it with like-minded soles….. the Samoan Highland Hideaway.

Our quest seeded in the early 1970’s when Tim arrived in Samoa from Australia on his way to Canada. He met his wife Maria and now 38 years later after sojourns in and between Samoa, Canada, Australia and New Zealand we are entering into our dream. No wonder the iconic writer Robert Louis Stevenson had a similar dream. Our family is settled in Australia and Canada and sometimes Bosnia but they all adore the purity of the beauty, culture and simplicity of Samoa. So can you.

Tim has spent a lifetime in heavy engineering in many remote locations from the Canadian Arctic to the windswept Sub-Antarctic. Maria’s time away from Samoa saw her putting her heart into what she loves; serving people. She had the ongoing privilege of working alongside people from Africa and Asia while meeting premiers and Canadian hockey stars. Above all she loves her garden so where better than Samoa. As you can see we are a multicultural family, love meeting like-minded folk from all countries.

We built our present house in this beautiful and quietly remote highland region of Aleisa on the cross island road to Paradise Beach in the early 2000’s. Since then the grounds have developed and much of our sustenance matured. We completed building a traditional Samoan fale adjacent to the main house in 2010. We can’t wait to share this with our guests.

Located in the Samoan highlands above the capital city Apia away from the tourist traffic and business of city life. We originally chose this remote and wild piece of land because it was distant for everyday Samoa. It has transformed to what you see today. We developed the land for our retirement home and then it took on the expansion into our present vacation property.
