The Haven - Island Beach

Island Beach Haven es de autoservicio, totalmente equipado y amueblado, ubicado a solo 15 km del ferry en Penneshaw ya 40 km del aeropuerto de Kingscote.

The Haven se encuentra en una duna de arena a solo 200 metros de una playa segura para nadar en Eastern Cove, y a 500 metros de la zona de lanzamiento de botes. Pesca, nadar o simplemente relajarse en la terraza después de un día recorriendo la isla.

Island Beach Haven es de nueva construcción, y amplio. Puede alojar hasta 10 personas. Cuenta con 4 dormitorios, 2 baños y 3 aseos, 1 lavandería y una terraza cubierta con barbacoa.

The Haven tiene aire acondicionado de ciclo inverso y una cocina completamente amueblada con instalaciones de cocina completas, incluido un lavaplatos.

Se ofrece entretenimiento con 2 televisores digitales, reproductores de DVD y VCR, base para iPod estéreo, juguetes para niños y una biblioteca de libros y películas.

Not too clean

House is very spacious and in a good location, walking distance to the beautiful beach. But the house is not very clean. Stove cooktop is quite old and takes ages for food to heat up. Crockery wasn't very clean either. House had smell of pets when we first arrived and had to open the windows for a while. But the kids enjoyed the free Netflix on the big TV screen.

Lovely location

Property was in a great location. Island beach is so beautiful. Very well equipped and the slow cooker was a bonus. Overall nice and clean, although there were empty bottles and cans all over the fish cleaning sink which we couldnt use. This was cleaned up however at the end of our trip. Beds were a bit firm for my liking but clean and warm. Had some visits by local kangaroos, wallabies and the beautiful birds on KI and also some local chooks! A bit of a hick up when we arrived to locked doors and no idea where the keys were. This wasn't what was on the check in instructions. It was raining on arrival and ended up wet looking for the keys! Finally found them, but not ideal. Would stay again. Kylie and Dave from Craigmore, South Australia

The Haven, Island beach

The process was easy, communication good, wonderful location and a perfect house for our needs. It was clean, tidy and well kitted our with everything we needed. The beach was one of the best we saw and within close proximity. All in all, a very good experience, thank you.

Well Equipped Large Bush Haven

Large timber frame home a few streets back from Island beach. Very quiet location for a relaxing stay and as a base for exploring the island. Cleanliness was excellent. Water pressure for shower was very good. Air conditioning worked well. TV is a great size with many channels plus Prime, Netflix. Wifi was free with excellent reception (which is quite rare on many parts of the island). The home is very well equipped with all you could need as a home away from home and beds were comfortable. It is a short drive rather than a walk to the beach and front and back outlook is over scrub. 4 stars rather than 5 based on the location and outlook rather than how spacious, clean and well equipped the house was. We stayed as a couple but the home is set up to easily cater for 2 families.

Home away from home

Excellent communication with the host! The beach house had everything we needed with a very well supplied kitchen. The bedroom configuration was perfect for our group of 13 people. And the 2.5 bathrooms convenient for the busy mornings. Lovely beach close by. We had a visit from a resident kangaroo almost everyday. Everyone had a lovely time, thank you Celestina!

Family fun on Kangaroo Island

The house was perfect in every way - everything we needed was there and our families loved the location and the view It was “ like camping in a house “ my grandson said the only part we didn’t like was having to go home If we ever get the chance to come back to KI we will be in touch to stay again

Awesome location and a great home to stay in. Peace and quiet in a clean and well appointed house. Daily wildlife visits a bonus. Definitely recommended.

Ideal family getaway

Celestina was extremely helpful and generously assisted us when we could not stay at our originally booked accommodation on KI due to the bushfires. This property is ideal for large families or groups of friends. The number of beds and flexible configuration lends itself to large groups. Having 3 toilets is a bonus. The rest of the house is spacious, with different areas so guests don't trip over each other. The kitchen is well appointed and has everything you could possibly wish for. The washing machine and dryer in the laundry are a bonus for long stays. A short walk takes you to a pristine, safe swimming beach - perfect for walking, kayaking, and boating. Nearby Pelican Lagoon and American River are great for kayaking - just check tide times though so you don't get stranded away from shore when the tide goes out, or end up going one centimetre an hour against the tide - like we did. The house is set in a beautiful bush setting, yet conveniently located 15 minutes from Penneshaw to top up on supplies.

Perfect family beach getaway

The Haven and Island Beach on KI are perfect for those wanting a quiet and calm beachside break. The shallow beach, only a few minutes walk away, is perfect for small children with no waves. While you will need to hop in the car to get to the shops in Penneshaw this is only a 10 minute drive away. The IGA there is great with an excellent range and competitive prices. The Haven is well laid out and was perfect for two adults and four kids. It's a long way across the island to Flinders Chase National Park but this can make a worthwhile day trip and is worth the time. We had a lovely time and would recommend this property and location to others.

Brilliant property

We loved the Haven as soon as we stepped through the door and explored the well presented and equipped property; so much so we decided to stay an extra night. Beds were very very comfortable as was the furniture as we settled in for the evening. The beach is very close by and took our breath away for its beauty and emptiness. We spent a whole day there only seeing a handful of people.
