The spacious (4305 sq ft) new (2023) house with ceiling to floor views of rolling hills on one side and brilliant blue Snelling Beach on the other side with two dozen resident kangaroos lounging in the shade during the day and grazing right by the side of the house in the evenings MADE the Kangaroo Island experience for us. A curious joey even ventured onto the porch one evening and peered into the living room. Three ensuite bedrooms have views of Snelling Beach. The fourth bedroom has views of the rolling hillside rather than the beach. While it doesn’t have an ensuite bathroom, it has a bathroom right beside it with soaking tub and separate shower. We appreciated the ceiling heat fans in the bathrooms. We stayed in the house for seven nights, spending each day in a different part of the island. Coming “home” to the house and local kangaroos each afternoon was a delight. We ate dinner at the house every evening and found the kitchen well stocked with everything necessaryfor meal prep. Martin, the owner/host was incredibly responsive before, during and after our stay and the caretakers live nearby. We appreciated the plentiful supply of toilet paper, laundry soap, coffee pods, olive oil and hangers in the house. Pro tip- to see koalas, park at the small Lions Park in nearby Parndana, enter the green fenced playground area where there is a sand box with toy trucks and look up into the eucalyptus trees.
