Bingo! I knew this is why the guest left, she didn’t like the neighborhood. But she knows she can’t get a refund for that, so instead she proceeds to pick apart everything in the house. I didn’t see her message that she sent on the vrbo app ( this is why I give all guests my cell since the notifications on the app are not reliable). As soon as she text me I responded immediately. She said she found stains on sheets, broken pull out couch, the floors were unsafe for her children and a sock under the bed. We came over and inspected the couch and saw that 2 brackets were broken which made it a lean slightly on one side. So since the bed was not 100% I told her would refund her the rest of the stay since they needed that bed for all the guests. A few hours later, my head cleaner told me that the couch was not broken when she cleaned it before this group, so they must have broken it and blamed it on us because again they wanted out because they didn’t like the neighborhood. So yes I made a claim on the insurance. This cleaner reports all damages to me even the smallest thing I know she would have noticed if the couch was broken. She also inspected the stain on the sheet and said it wasn’t there either when she made the beds. It was too big of a stain not to notice and we have lots of extra bedsheets why would she put that on the bed? I also knew they were just picking when she said the floors were unsafe for her kids, what a bunch of nonsense!!
