Beautiful location - cabin is cozy and right on the lake. Loved watching the lake and listening to the loons from bed each morning!

Long weekend on the water

We loved that the property is built right up to the water, it's what drew us the Get Away Shores. We enjoyed watching the sunset and spending the day on the dock, we brought our paddle board to check out the lake. We also enjoyed watching the wildlife and the sitting in peace and quiet! The cabin's kitchen is well stocked with equipment and there is dining space both inside and outside.

Winter getaway!

Beautiful, quiet location. James was extremely helpful during the booking process and in providing directions on how to get to the property, check-in, etc. I would highly recommend!

Beautiful View

The view of the lake was amazing. Loved the wood burning stove. My husband and I stayed for our Anniversary and it was a nice and cozy. The stairs to the cabin were surprise and not fun to carry all our stuff up and down. Otherwise a great experience.

Rejuvenating for body and soul!

This is exactly the experience we were looking for! Beautiful off the grid cabin filled with books,waking with water lapping at the porch, great fishing and complete solitude. The sauna was the icing on the cake! Thank you Jim for sharing your wonderful place with us.

Quiet, beautiful and relaxing

Everything about the property is as advertised. It was clean, comfortable and located on gorgeous property. We enjoyed the fire pit, some swimming and it was close enough for hikes near Ely and the North Shore.

Yearly escape

We love this little cabin on the lake. The quiet, secluded area makes it ideal for relaxing. We met more neighbors this time and found everyone to be so nice! Fishing is usually really good and the swimming is wonderful with clean water and no weeds!

Great secluded cozy cabin!

My family of 2 teens and 2 adults had a fantastic say at this cozy cabin. Despite the fickle weather of October in MN, the cabin was comfortable. Beautiful views over the lake every morning. Fish weren't biting the long weekend we were there, but we had fun trying from the overwater porch. Definitely planning to come back again in the summer. For those who read the reviews to help with their packing here are my tips: bring coffee for a cone drip maker (no filter needed). and there was a coffee grinder there! The stove and oven are gas (yay!). The refrigerator was full sized, modern and spotlessly clean. Bring smores sticks with you. They were probably there in the kitchen, but just in case you can't do without them! It's a good hour + to the nearest place to buy groceries or bait, so plan ahead and bring what you need. There was a nice supply of paper products, tinfoil, flour/sugar/oil, shore lunch breading (!), and even a variety of spices (Penzeys). There is spotty cell coverage in the National Forrest, so don't rely on your phone to access driving and check-in instructions. We had no problems and regained coverage near the cabin, but I wished I had listened to the owner's clear instructions to PRINT THEM OUT in advance. Wifi and TV in the cabin were great. Great experience and would love to return. This is a really special place. Say hi to the otters for us!!

Need More Stars!

This place is unbelievably cool, what a great get away! We visited both the North Shore and Ely, but could have easily had a great time simply staying at the cabin. My husband caught his first Northern Pike, right off the deck. We enjoyed boating and loved our daily visits from the neighborhood loons and otters! Cant wait to start planning a next time!

Unique - Calm - Magical

Our family stays at many MN & WI cabins - always lakefront! But this location, literally on the water’s edge… is what UpNorth Woodsy fantasies are made of. Calm waters. Peaceful woods. Clear starry sky! So thankful we stayed here… already booked for next year.

Wonderful

We parked Friday night and never left the cabin. It was perfect and just what our little family needed. We canoed, and kayaked, and the teenager spent all afternoon in the lake. Took the kayak out for an early morning ride and saw an otter! The cabin was cozy and clean. Beds were comfy. Plenty of hot water for us all to take showers. It was the best end of summer trip!

Literally ON the lake

Quiet, seclusion, peaceful. The gentle breezes from being right on the lake kept the bugs away so we spent SO much time outside on the deck/dock enjoying the scenery. A few otters and loons came to visit. Loved this cabin.
